KISS xoxo

Here is my take for the sketch over at Creative Scrappers #154- which I just love how this page/layout turned out of my cousins wedding. The photo is a black and white which they sent out with their thank-yous.
I used papers from DCWV Lace and Linen stack, Cricut cuts are from Tie the Knot, Home accents and Serenade, cartridges. Doilies placed on background and pictures matted on distressed and inked paper. Lots of embellies were used here-ribbon, handmade crocheted lace on left border, 1/2 pearls, string of pearls, metal heart button, old buttons, cream thread, prism stickers, jewelry shell pieces, Stickles, and a floral branch from my stash, and many different silk, floral and hand made crocheted flowers.
I will be applying this layout also over at Fantabulous Cricut for the use of flowers on a project this week.
And at Scrap Our Stash May challenge to use flowers on a project.

Family at Christmas time- what could be better

This is a photo of my Husband side (part) of the family -2 of his brothers, his son, nephew and his mother taken back in 2007 a week before Christmas, while his brother was here from Alaska during the holidays. I will be applying this sketch over at Sketches in Thyme,  Frosted Designs ,to use Glitter and at Chop Suey to use the word Family in a project. The picture came out kinda blurry sorry I didn't have my reading glasses on when I took this picture.
I used My Minds Eye, Bo Bunny, Teresa Collins and misc Christmas papers for this layout along with lots of embellishments. Also used three Cricut cartridges for the cuts- Accents Essentials, Home Accents and Christmas Cheer. Lots of glitter in several colors, stickles, punches, double sided tape, pop dots, and 3 Maya Road leaf decorative pins
This 3-D origami christmas tree was alot of fun to make it added alot of dimension to this page and I added stickles in 3 colors and punched out little snowflakes to decorate the tree. I saw a tutorial on this tree at Practical Scrappers about 2 weeks ago and I also have nmade several cards with this tree- just love how they turn out.-

I think I will put this page in a frame and put it on display in my home instead of in a scrapbook-in memory of my Grandma- since I don't have too many photo's of her-It will be nice to have out during the holidays.

Time for a walk- a walk in the park.

Here is a fun page of my girls Jenna and Izzy and a page for one of my kids scrapbook (my favorite photo of the dogs). This is for the sketch at Sketches in Thyme #23 this week and I will be also applying this at Ella's Pink Scrapbook Challenge this week for colors of Red, Blue and Yellow.

Materials used: TPC Studio background paper, American Crafts flower pattern paper, blue cardstock, cut out fire hydrant from the TPC Studio paper, Cricut cuts (tree and limbs) Home Accents, all embellishments stickers from Walk in the Park and a couple of tickets.and pop dots. This was a fun sketch to work with this week and I enjoyed working with the Walk in The Park sticker set kit that went with each other and the colors of Red Yellow and Blue worked out great with this layout too- it made scrapping this page a little easier.

Layouts for Creative Scrappers Challenge #128 & 129

I just got home from a scrapbooking retreat and have a few pages to enter for Creative Scrappers challenges that I worked on this weekend and want to get them posted as soon as I could. This entry is the newest challenge #129-which is a sketch. This was a painting project I did this  past September- I repainted the sign into our subdivision-which was badly needed and I changed the color of the windmill so it stood out better-which alot of the neighbors really like-now. In the layout I used Fancy Pants, DCWV and Recollections papers, textured brown  and some white and tan cardstock. I inked all the edges and used Cricut cut from Lyrical Letters for the Title "before & after", which I ran through the crimper before I sprayed with coffee bean glittter mist. I hand cut the cattails and added some flowery soft to the tips for dimension. Added some cute Fiskars stamps of some frogs and a few cricut cuts-windmill (heritage) dragonflies with stickles.
This next layout is for Challenge #128 to use a 12" wide photo- I really enjoyed this-something new to try. So I had this photo of fall colors from a  subdivision that I drive thru everyday and I just loved looking at all the burning bushes _"like a Sea of Red in the fall. So I printed a large 12" version to work with. I used several fall papers, a pre die-cut of leaves, ribbons, stickers, a book mark, border punch, 3 metal leaves by Karen Foster, inks, chalks, vellum saying on picture, my Expressions using Home Accents for the leaves and Wild Card for the title. I sprayed a piece of white paper with several Tim Holtz's distressing Inks and then used a single leaf stamp on top of that and then did my cricut cuts on my own handmade color designer paper

Hanging with The Blues Brothers

Here is my take for Creative Scrappers sketch #127 and also for Embellishment Magazine color challenge of green, yellow and rust with a vintage flair. I used K&Company, My Minds Eye 2 sided designer papers, and black cardstock. Used the Cricut cartridges Heritage, Home Accents and Wild Card, many ditress inks by Tim Holtz, polka dot ribbon and 3-D gel pen and black fine marker. My thought of the 3 big circles were they kinda looked like the tires on the old car, also wrote part of my title of the flags hanging underneath the ribbon.

This is My husband and I in Las Vegas strolling along the strip and had our picture taken with the Blues Brothers in front of Imperial Palace back in 2003. I love to visit Las Vegas as much as I can so I would go at least 2-3 times a year and both of us went usually in the fall. If I could only talk my husband to moving out there! Now my excuse to visit more often is my daughter lives out there and I need to see her.

On the Wall-vinyl cut

I took the time to do something for my self this week- and had fun doing some new cuts with vinyl with my Gypsy and Expressions. I thought I'd put a saying on the wall that enters into my craft/scraproom area. "May all who enter as Guests, leave as Friends" So I had this blue marble look contact paper and designed this saying to put there. The wall is also a light blue color, but the picture does not do it well with the bad lighting it looks yellow so you have to believe me as far as the coloring goes. Cartridges used were- for the words Gypsy Font and for the swirls and butterflies Home Accents.
I will be applying this project over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog #31 for "On the Wall"

This layout reflects the day so well at our wedding in 2000, Tears of Joy (because we were happy to get married) and Tears of Sorrow (because my father had just passed away 3 days before out wedding day). So everyone was was crying for 2 reasons that day, I was on an emotional roller coaster. Buttons(11) in pink, purple and clear (are stacked) with white embroidery floss, red and green Stickles glitter glue,VersaMark ink in Celadon, word stickers, Fiskars "Victorian" edger scissors, and used left over backings from chipboard letters for the title, except for the green ones they were sticker letters. Creative Scrappers- sketch #103/Practical Scrappers-Punch

This is my sketch to enter into the challenge at Creative Scrappers this week. I had so much fun doing this layout and I just LOVE how it turned out, which I did spent a few hours on it, but well worth it to add to MY scrapbook. I used several papers from K&Company for the main 2 layers, border punch by Martha Stewart and Fiskars for corner punch. Used a white/clear vellum for the journal area and ink edges in Lilac.

The flowers I made using my cricut carts of AE  GW HA to cut out the floral patterns I then layered the different sizes/shapes together and attached a silver brad that I heat embossed  green, gold or blue colors. I then used Tattered Angel mists on them, a variety of colors. I used a vellum Slick writer for my words. Cut out a few words from paper/chalked them green and attached to the flowers.

The Title Children I used my Gypsy and 2 different letter fonts LL  PS and welded together and inked the edges in lavendar and added sticker rhinestones to it. I cut from patterned paper 3 butterflies and added Stickles glitter glue to them and attached just at the body part. The leaves I hand cut and used a dash ---in marker to highlight them a bit.I cut out 2 hearts in the K&Company blue paper and attached a vellum saying behind one of the hearts, added rhinestones and glitter to the hearts also.

I wrote in black marker on top and bottom border the saying " A mother holds her children hands for awhile, and their hearts forever"

And this is a close up of my 4 lovely children on my Wedding Day in September 2000. They were so wonderful that day and as you can see by the smiles they were happy too. I can't wait to put this one in my special Scrapbook of my special pictures of my children as they are growing up.

L.I.D. Challenge May 8-14 Sketch #2

Here is my take on Sketch #2 for the LID challenge this week. It will be a 2 page layout along with sketch 1(this being page1 on left side). I used all the same papers and carts for this LO as the other- same with the embellishments. I do believe I used HA for the Love heart border on bottom of page.

L.I.D. Challenge May 8-14 Sketch #1

Here my take on sketch 1  for the LID challenge this week. Used purple cardstock and some teal floral patternedpaper and lavendar paper, along with some prelined/scalloped paper for journaling. Used GBS for the "Its your day" title and not sure what cart I used for the hearts, but I think it was Home Accentswith 2 purple cardstocks. Other embellishments used are silk flowers, brads, teal ribbon, white grossgrain stamped with love love love, sticker rhinestones by Stampendous, jellyroll stardust markers. These pictures are from my wedding(2nd marriage) in 2000 with my 4 children.
