The New Welcome Doodle!

I wish you had a great new start this year 2014.

From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for taking a bit of time checking out my inactive blog.

Even though I haven't updated much, I've had people contacting me through emails and FB... asking for my ART services. Thank you... Thank you.

Yes, I'm still alive and I still do take orders for caricatures/ designs/ doodles and such.
However, my time is now more occupied with my duty as a MOM to a very cheeky and active boy who's turning TWO by April this year.

A Happy Little Astronaut!

If I were to do my magical 'creations', it'll be during his sleeping time, especially during the night.
So, if you need me to do anything for you, please get in touch with me in advance and NOT with last minutes job.
Another thing is, I plan to get back to my drawing table and do more serious artworks (ie. watercolor paintings) this year, insyaAllah...
So, you might see some updates here instead of in Yartstik. (I've figured out that managing more than one blog is quite an uphill battle now...hehee).

Last 2 nights, I doodled a new HEADER for myself... but I'm not sure why I couldn't get it installed in the Blog. So, why don't I just display it here for now.

In the meanwhile... have a bright and prosperous year ahead... and enjoy!

Doodles of Late...

Couldn't find big enough wrapping paper for my little nephew's gift, I grabbed a 'kertas minyak' and doodled something he liked on it. For his Mom (yes, they have the same birthday), I quickly made a small gift card using pen and watercolor.

This last minute gift card barely made its way to my sis Anna on her birthday as I was struggling with baby Zain while doodling it. Phew!

Oh yes, once in a while... peace and quite doodle while my baby was taking his morning nap.

Bought a new Daler-Rowney A5 sketch book and hope I'll get the rhythm of making more doodles and drawings in the near future :)

So Ramadhan Has Arrived...

Thanks to Him we are still around to enjoy it for another year, InsyaAllah.

Prior to the Holy month, I have designed an exclusive Aildilfitri Card and Money Packet for a local company. So, I'd like to share it here.

And just a couple of days before, I tried to doodle something for my Ramadhan wish ...
Somehow, my Boy has decided to put his marks too on the sketch.
So, here's our 1st joint effort in producing it :)

Ergh! It's quite a mess, huh?

Alhamdulillah, Zain has started to walk at 14++months.

You know what that means right?
It means I need a lot more energy to keep up with his pace and cheekiness!
I guess this is an added challenge I have this Ramadhan.
Plus I still breastfeed him...
I must remember to drink lots of water at night!

Love him to bits.

Sometimes, I still can't believe Allah lends this Boy to me.

I love Ramadhan and all it brings.

Hello Hello Hello...

Well.. well.. well..

Yes. Hello Blog. Hello everyone who reads and passes through (Thanks!). After a pretty long hiatus, I'M BACK.

Perhaps you may or may not have heard... I've given birth to a baby BOY :) last April. Not sure how other blogging moms do it, but I still can't quite figure out how to manage my schedule with a kid around just yet. Hehee. 


Right now, my Boy is almost 2 months old and I begin to see a pattern on his sleeping time. He still gets up  in the wee morning but I think I'm getting the hang of it already. Huhuu.. (there goes my beauty sleeps after all these years!)

32 weeks and counting...

Can't sit nor stand too long, lately... Legs starting to swell a bit.
Really feel heavy too.

I saw a friend who's about in the same month as me... SHe looked as if she's not even pregnant!
Whoa!

...But it's fun to watch my own tummy moving every time he's kicking or maybe playing football inside. Most importantly, my baby is doing fine & healthy :).

Hello there!

Yup. I'm still alive and kicking (...well, a lot of kicking mostly come from the little one in my tummy, actually). 

Alhamdulillah... I'm well into almost 6 months of pregnancy now.
Phew! Moms out there- you know how it is... Changes are inevitable throughout your body. When your 'catwalk' turns into a 'waddle'... ahhh... it's going to be a bit of a downhill from here on. I guess, it's a good time as any to reflect what our Mother has gone through after all these years.

Anyhow, I'm so thankful to His Almighty. Not only for giving me the chance to see another light of the day, but also to keep on moving forward with my own life... and family.

I have mixed feelings entering the New Year. Perhaps it's normal... perhaps it's hormonal. I just want to keep on praying that my baby will be all right and have a healthy delivery in early May 2012. 

Well, there's so much to do and to look forward to. Life has so much to offer as long as you're breathing.

My younger sister is getting married- also in May 2012... but towards the end. Most probably, I'll still be in confinement but hopefully, I'll be well enough to witness her ceremony with my little one :). InsyaAllah.


Oh yes! At the very end of 2011, I have created two B'day Cards- to my nephew, Shaqeel (4 years old) and his cousin, Myrra (10 years old). I would like to share them with you here before I forgot...

Why no colors? Because they're supposed to color these by themselves! Yayyy!! I know Myrra loves coloring. She really appreciated the Card. As for Shaqeel, he only cared about the awesome gifts he received from everyone. Huhuu...

As you can see earlier in this post, I've made a Wallpaper Doodle as a January freebie. I plan to this every month :)). InsyaAllah.

Another thing is... I'm in the mood to make a GIVEAWAY soon. Hmmm... but I'm thinking more about a COMPETITION of some sort. Stay tuned, alright?

Doodled a Header for AyuJamal

I never thought I could offer a service for designing a Blog Headers or Badges and stuff before.. hihi.
But I guess, I can now.

If you've browsed much of my creations.. most of them are hand-drawn and painted. Yes, I am also a freelance Graphic Designer.. and have designed quite a lot of company logos.. corporate identities.. flyers.. brochures..etc.. over the years. However, I still treasure the pain of 'traditional' methods of pencil and paper. Ol'school as I may be.. I know many still appreciate it too :).

Ayu Jamal from AyuJamal.com has become my very first client to adorn my art&design works for her blog. She liked what I did for my header and so she contacted me for a more 'personal' outlook for her header.. of course, with her own caricature in it! After going back and forth with my design proposals.. she finally approved and already put 'em up at her site. Yay!

A Mug Spilled with Luv..

A sweet client of mine, all the way from Perak...ordered a thoughtful b-day gift for her special one :)

First, I doodled the mug with black ink.. She wanted some coffee beans spilling out from a bag with little-little hearts and a piece of photo. In the photo, she wanted me to draw a cute girl.. huuuu..

So, after my black & white doodle was approved, I colored with Pelikan Plaka-Lack. This color was supposedly suitable for any kind of surfaces. But just to make sure the colors won't smudge, I lacquered the whole painting on the mug!

I'm hoping my client will receive it safe & sound... and with a big smile!

One day, Tee wanted to go to the little shop in the village.

Din offered her a 'ride'.

NOTE: 

It's amazing how useful the coconut tree is. From top to bottom. If you're not from Malaysia, you might not be familiar with this game. You could actually ride the coconut's leaves. All you have to do is sit on one end, and the 'driver' will pull the leaves forward and take you wherever you want to go. Err.. you might hurt your butt if the ground is rough with lots of little stones. Ouch! It's better to play on the grass :).

Colorful Mood!

Well, the festival mood of Eid is still in the air... and last weekend, there was another festival celebrated by Chinese known as the Lantern Festival. I'm definitely inspired by these colorful events :).. so I sketched a little pencil-colored piece as shown above! It's nothing much... but I've got a bit of batik element in this sketch. Read about my batik inspired drawings in my other blog too, alrite?

my Animated Toonie

If you guys go to my other blog, you'll see a few little cartoons I made for a few posts. I call them Toonies. Recently, I got a job that required me to do quite a lot of gif animations for a telecommunication company. Really had fun doing it. Still a lot to do...but managed to animate one of my tiny Toonies here to share with you :).
