Lord of the Rings (good & evil heroes) and Naousa of Paros

The other day a friend of mine gave me some old LotR miniatures. Some of them I had already had, some others not. Below you can see the first group of them.

In other news, we have been here, on Paros, for a month now. Recently we visited the beautiful village of Naousa for an early dinner, where we had the opportunity to taste the local specialite "Gouna". The gouna is sun-dried salted mackeler fish.

Knights of Minas Tirith

The Knights of Minas Tirith are the pride of Gondor's armies. My unit consists of eleven Knights and a Standard Bearer.

The Standard Bearer

The flag is the Boromir's famed banner of the White City. The White Tree of Gondor on the flag is a free hand drawing as well as the four stars of the other side.

I painted green the pennants, the scabbards and the saddle clothes. I added yellow flowers on each base in contrast to the green and black colours of the Knights.

Elendil, banner bearer and animal shelter

Elendil was the High King of Gondor and Arnor. I had this nice miniature unpainted  for a long time because I didn't have any men of Numenor to follow him in battle. So, I decided to use him as a Knight of the White Tower to lead my warriors of Gondor as I did with the miniature of Isildur.

It is nice to have a banner bearer close to the Knight during the fight phases.

Finally, I made a Camp for the L'art de la Guerre from balsa wood. It can be used also as an animal shelter for my LotR games.

That's all for today! Stay tuned for more but first of all stay at home and stay safe!

Minas Tirith Spearmen

Eight years from the day I finished my Gondor archers, the Minas Tirith spear men are finally ready! I didn't paint the soldiers' clothes with bright colors as I did with Boromir's boys' clothes. This time, I preferred the black - black grey colors instead.

I was in Constanta of Romania, where I had the opportunity to taste the delicious tochitura, the traditional Romanian dish!
