NEW COLLECTION: PURPLE SHAMROCK

 This is our new collection in the beginning of September Purple Shamrock (Oxalis triangularis). Here, we use to call it as purple butterfly or 'Kupu-kupu Ungu'.

We got it when our team visited a village. And I went home with some coleus cuttings and this Oxalis.

GIFT OF THE WEEK : EDAMAME

Today, I'm very happy.

Our farmer were harvesting edamame on their farmland.

Such a shame I can't attend that special event.

Oh... they are really kind.

They sent me a bunch of boiled edamame to our office.
And even more...

When I went home, I found a bunch of fresh edamame on our porch.

Thank you so much...

These healthy snack is so delicious...

So yummy...

FAVA BEAN : FINDING THE VOLUNTEER

On March, my friend gave me 'Kacang Babi' or fava beans as specific material for the agro expo.
My friend gave me on several forms.

Fresh Pods, fresh seeds, and also dried seeds.

After the expo finished, I took home  these fava bean.

I cooked some for snack.

And keep the dry seeds on the kitchen.
Such a shame ... some of the fresh pods became rotten, and I took them on the raised bed to be composted naturally.

But last week, we found some strange seedlings on that raised bed (actually the seedling of thrown rotten fava beans)

And a couple days ago I found this next to the kitchen door.
Then we moved them to the new place, our raised bed. 

This is the first time we grow it. 
It might be too hot here in our garden. 
But we hope they will grow well, and we can pick our own fava beans.

'KUWENI' : AN AROMATIC MANGO

These was lovely gift that we got from our relative.

Actually he worked for several times on fixing our house.

One day he brought us tree fresh homegrown 'kuweni' from his home garden.

Kuweni (Mangifera odorata) is a kind of mango that has aromatic flavor.

The peel is thicker than common mango.

The sap was thick and aromatic.

Greenish yellow flesh...

The nearly ripen fruit is usually served as fresh salad.

When the fruit fully ripen, the flesh is juicy, sweet and tender.

That's great served as fruit juice.

BIRTHDAY GIFT

A simple gift for my birthday from my lovely husband...

GROWING THE GIFT

Three weeks ago we visited our families.

Such a nice moment.

A mini gathering with our big family.

As usual my eyes always look for something 'green' and something new to be planted in our tiny garden.

I went home with four cuttings of Malabar spinach (Basela alba) from my cousin.

And from my aunt, I took a paprika seedling and three red hot peppers for seed.

Now, the only one cutting of Malabar spinach is surviving.

The three others have rotten.

The paprika seedling have transplanted into pot and I'm finding some flower buds there.

What a shame, some kind of aphids are invested here, under the leaves.

And now, I have lost the hot peppers.

I forgot where I put them.

Actually, I should sow the seeds as soon as we can, but now all disappear.

Hoping I can find the peppers soon.

FRUITY FRIDAY : JAMBU KRISTAL

These fruits were gift from my friend.

We call it 'Jambu Kristal' or crystal guava.

This is a kind of seedless guava.
Although we can find a small amount of seeds inside.

The taste is so sweet and the texture is so crispy.
A bit like as green apple.

FIG : FIRST FRUIT

GIFT OF THE WEEK : HOT CHILLI PLANTS

Last week my friend visited our house with his wife and son.

Such a lovely thing... he brought us two chili plants that full of fruits.
And also a handful of red hot chillies.

So colorful fruits are hanging on the plants.

I was so lucky with these gifts, cause I was failed on growing chilli peppers this season, lots of fruit flies, white flies and thrips that attacked my pepper plants.

Lots of stuffs for the hot spicy dishes...

I also shared him some seedlings such as celery, eggplant, tomato, mint and strawberry.

FLOWER BUD

This is my 'Cempaka Gondok' or magnolia, that I got as a gift for my baby birth.

You can see the plant here.

The plant have been moved into bigger pot and I put it next to my bedroom, so I can see this plant from the window almost everyday.

Look... I found a flower bud!

Last week, when the bud was still small, I though it just a shoot.

I can wait to see the flower bloom and enjoy the exotic fragrance, peoples say it's a heavenly fragrance...

That makes me so happy...
