VC Orks

Some of the Orks I took last weekend were my VC themed ones. After painting these I'm not happy with the heads up close, but I have plans to make some more using some better free heads I found online, and then I'll most likely share them up on Cults or Thingiverse.

Ork Warchief - Done

A warboss model, found online, in service as my Heresy era Warchief.

Ork 'Eavy Gun - Done

Another piece from the Fluff fandex, an Ork Scrap Kannon. The gun was something I found online, and then changed with some custom 3D designed parts to have wheels. Crew are also online finds, with a spare boonie hat wearing head added.

Ork Brutes - Done

As mentioned yesterday, we've been using King Fluff's Ork codex, which has the option for Brutes - huge jacked-up monsters! This are 3D printed, and then modified with some GW jaws. The one with a 'normal' arm, suffered a misprint, and had to have an arm reprinted and attached, hence it looks a little off. Something big for the new year?

 Just a teaser, but something bigger than the Mekboy Gargant is coming!

Alongside the 30k Orks, I've been printing parts to use up lots of bits from the bits box, or just for fun.

Orks for 30k Part 3

Here are some of the infantry I'm hoping to use for the 30k Orks (but with a few additions can work for 40k).

First squad is GI in 'Nam themed, mix of Fox Box (from Ramshackle) and Mekka Miniatures printed parts. The M60 is a digital kitbash of AgentSmith99's one from his Huey kits, with some old Ork arms.

Second are some VC Orks. Again Mekka Miniatures STLs with digitally kitbashed heads and RPG.

More Mekka Minitures files with some GW arms.

Same STLa but with Spellcrow heads and old Fox Box guns, and some GW bits.

A couple of the packs had misprints, so I did some repair work to make some custom versions.

Orks for 30k Part 2

My usual Orks are Blood Axe, and my 30K variety are no exception. Using some of AgentSmith99's Ork Hueys from Cults3d, I'm starting on an Air Cav theme for the main part of my force.

Ork 'Eavy Bomma

 Another 3d printing project, from Geargutz Mekshop. I'm just waiting to get some paint on it before adding all the bombs. I had quite a bit of problem with the resin breaking - which led to me making some terrain with failed parts, so there's a lot of Greenstuff  'welds' to hold it all together. Also I took to adding some details, like the 'teef and the detail on the rear end of the fuselage.

Orks for 30k Part 1

No updates for ages again - life is crazy busy and I haven't gamed since July! What I have been doing is preparing for one of King Fluff's events in January - another one of his Xenocide events. I'll be taking some Iron Warriors and some Orks using his 30k fandex for them.

I don't think I'll be using him now, but a print of a not-Ghazghul to use as a Primeork someday.

Orc Warcopta - WIP

Another find on Thingiverse, with a few mods. I printed the helicopter as normal, but found the supplied rotors were too small. For some reason, when enlarged, they wouldn't print so I got just the raised sections. Anyway, I'm handy with styrene sheet so used those bits and details and cut a new rotor. The mek door piece was resized (53mm square) and added just to enclose the cockpit area, which looked too open. This is the piece in green. I've started painting this but have run out of black primer - the horror! The filler is there because my printer isn't quite setup correctly at the moment, and flat surfaces tend to curve a little and the parts lose adhesion to the build plate - a new mat is on order.
