More Apocalypticon work, and Gary the Gargant

Not much to say, still going full speed on terrain for Apocalypticon which is in 2 weeks! The Pyramids shown below were almost finished in this shot. I've been doing quite a lot of other pieces that I can't share until after the event, and Scott has been painting up the centre piece I made earlier in the year - more photos when we won't spoil the surprise for the players. While I've been spraying and brushing, the printer has been turning out Gary here. Still needs his banners, but I think he looks ace. I printed him at 150% which caused a little bit more work, as I had to cut some pieces to fit on the printer, but I really like the old school Gargant look.

Do you like Rokk music?

Just a one off today - the Goff Rokker.

First 8th Orky

First fully painted 'British' Ork. I'm not sure if the helmets will go to black for the rest, like my other Blood Axes, or stay grey like this chap. Obvious a mix, 3d printed bits, Fox Box/Ramshackle missile launcher and head from probably Kromlech. The knife arm is actually an old WHFB GW bit!

VC Orks

Some of the Orks I took last weekend were my VC themed ones. After painting these I'm not happy with the heads up close, but I have plans to make some more using some better free heads I found online, and then I'll most likely share them up on Cults or Thingiverse.

Ork Warchief - Done

A warboss model, found online, in service as my Heresy era Warchief.

Ork 'Eavy Gun - Done

Another piece from the Fluff fandex, an Ork Scrap Kannon. The gun was something I found online, and then changed with some custom 3D designed parts to have wheels. Crew are also online finds, with a spare boonie hat wearing head added.

Ork Brutes - Done

As mentioned yesterday, we've been using King Fluff's Ork codex, which has the option for Brutes - huge jacked-up monsters! This are 3D printed, and then modified with some GW jaws. The one with a 'normal' arm, suffered a misprint, and had to have an arm reprinted and attached, hence it looks a little off. The before shots are here: http://fortwargame.blogspot.com/2021/12/orks-for-30k-part-4.html

Beebop and Rocksteady

I recently ordered some bits from Spellcrow, and as ever got a fantastic bags of extras. These were in it, which when combined with some printed legs gave me a kneeling Beebop and Rocksteady looking Orks. They're awaiting arms and the rest of my Punk styled mob to go and kick TMNT butt.

8th Orky?

First one of my WW2 British style Orks, and a mix of bits as usual.

Orky Reb!

Some American Civil War Orks - kitbashed, and 5 more to follow when I get some more bits 3D printed.

'Ard Boyz

Sadly these aren't in 40k any more, so they're just Choppa boyz now. These are obviously a mix of a load of different bits, but I assembled them just to help clear the large plastic tub of Ork shame...

'Eavy Gun PIP

I've been slapping paint on my 'Eavy Gun for our 30k event. Still lots to do, but I found a use for some old .22 casings I've had knocking about - spent artillery shells.

Big Mek/Mecha Nob?

Another Ork that I built the other week - several leftovers from GW, Foxbox and old Kromlech. I think he needs to go on a 40mm now for a Big Mek, so I'll need to either print him a base expander, or make him the Nob for a unit of Mecha-Orks..

Original Ork Inspiration

I made this Ork the other day from a mixture of GW, Fox Box and 3d printed parts. I modelled him (as a Mek) as it reminded me of one of the first White Dwarf magazines that I owned (#119), where some similar styled Orks were on the cover. Slasha WIP 1

I've managed to catch COVID again - so we're isolating, without lunches in my case because Tesco delivery substituted out all the things I needed for my lunches - oh well! I've had 3 jabs, so this is not as bad as it could have been, but I have on-off flu symptoms and I'm just totally bereft of any energy,

Anyway, when I wasn't feeling like moving was too much of a hard thing - I took this, progress shot on my two Slasha Gargants (one has only half a body - not shown here so far). The half body suffered a major print failure, so is being cut and shut with a good bit from a reprint. As if all this wasn't challenge enough, my Anycubic Photon Mono has suffered a screen failure, so I've repaired the old Photon and I'm having to use that for some bits for the Hueys.

Something big for the new year?

Just a teaser, but something bigger than the Mekboy Gargant is coming!

Merry Christmas to all my readers, I hope Santa brings you loads of gaming goodies! Since it's a day of big things, here's the new Mekboy Gargant, assembled via Blu-tac to show off all the gubbinz.

Merry Orkmas?

Christmas is almost on us! So here's some more festivity, and some more Orks! Again, pesudo Vietnam themed with a mix of Spellcrow, Fox Box/Ramshackle, GW and Mekka Miniatures parts.

Mekboy Gargant Pt1.

Since I've had a little bit more free time, I've managed to get the Ender 5 working again - the 3 refused to start properly with a broken microswitch. That's on order, while in the meanwhile the 5 is buys cranking out a Mekboy Gargant. Posed here next to a Stompa I'm doing an Ebay rescue job on, it'll be on the table top using the Kustom Stompa rules. Gun and chainsword arms, and a Lifta-Droppa on the hydraulic arm.

I have a couple of Slasha Gargants sliced and ready to print, but they are behind a second Skullhamma.
