Watercolored Backgrounds

Pretty Window Card

I have learned to love pretty dies used to create scenes or house facades. Usually, I'm all about frames and layering die cuts to embellish my cards. This is because those were the kind of dies I knew of back when I started making cards. Now a days there is such a large variety of pretty dies and though I still love intricate, vintage layers, I was drawn to try out a pretty set to create this window card. I dried embossed the white background with a brick texture, to recreate a house's wall. I think it adds a nice touch to the card. I used the new Poppystamps Large Madison Window Set to cut the window and shutters from metallic pink cardstock. I spritzed and splatter white ink spray to the shutters to make them look worn. The background of the window, is actually vellum, but I also added a pretty border die cut from ODBD Beautiful Borders as a curtain.
