AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Textures and Rhythms

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Lots of rain this year in the Dromana Hills seems to make the Autumn leaves emerge slowly.
But the rain creates interesting gloss on the leaves and rich textures on tree trunks.

3WW #CCXXXVI ~ evident + illusion + tragic
~

Tiny spirit tiny rhythm
Textures of a tragic grimace
Stretching far and evident
Its the illusion of branded
New leaves

Humility

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ At first glance, this appears to be a young dreamer by the sea.
But the body language also suggests a sense of humility, a sense of respect before the wide expanse of Nature's beauty, all mixed with a sense of pride in just being there!
~
One Single Impression #154 ~ Humility
~

Humility
Cringes
Grovels
Slithers around
Shivering shades

Pride
Defends
Attacks
Desperately protects
Dubious credibility

Such absolute humility and pride
Lead a lonely timorous existence
Yet in complementary harmony
Tuned to circumstance
A living, vital orchestra is born

Perhaps Love...

Pic by Gemma Wiseman edited in Picnik ~ A performer at the Australia Day 2011 celebrations, Dromana, Mornington Peninsula

Carry on Tuesday #91 ~ This week we feature a quote from the pianist Arthur Rubinstein:
Love life and life will love you back. Love people and they will love you back.

~

Love life's multi-layered paintbox....................Love people's light and shadows
And life will love you in return....................And people will love you back
Perhaps in strange ways...............Perhaps grudgingly
Perhaps at strange times..............Perhaps thankfully
But it will happen.................Perhaps...
