Funny Picture of Paisley

ok, so I'm sitting here on the computer and Paisley is in her swing sleeping. Chris walks over to look at her and she had her hand up in the air like she was raising her hand to ask a question in school, while she is asleep LoL It was so funny we had to take a picture and I had to post it here :)

Thanksgiving Day

Well it was Paisley's first Thanksgiving and we started the day off with Chris making breakfast :) Then we got ready and headed over to the Lewis' to spend some time with Chris' family. We were there for about an hour and then we went down the street to my parent's house to eat dinner. It was soo good!! But I had to rush my meal and only have one serving because Paisley was hungry LoL After dinner we sat around and talked for a while and then Chris' mom, dad, and sister came over and we visited with them for a while. Then we all ate dessert and after that chris' family left. A little later the missionaries came over for some dessert too. After that we went home and my mom, Emmalee, and Sarah joined us and spent the night...which was nice because we got a full night's sleep :) My mom is the best!! Yesterday was a fun day but we definitely missed Rachel & Trent (in San Diego), Jenn, Ray, & their kids (in Arizona), and Taylen & Ryah (also in San Diego)!!! Maybe next year we can all be together for a holiday :) I'm so grateful for my family and that we all get along so well...we are a close family and I love it! I love you guys!!! Here are some pictures from our Thanksgiving...

Friday Date Night

Friday night is always Chris' and my date night together but we had a couple Fridays without it after Paisley was born. Last Friday we got to go on our date night again, while my mom and Emmalee babysat for us. We went to Red Robin (didn't want to go to far yet, otherwise we were going to go to El Novillero...yum!) and then we went to Target and Bel Air. It was a nice break but I was anxious to get back to Paisley by the end. Here's a picture of our family from before we left for our date...

The Weekend

So, this weekend I actually got to get out for almost two hours, thanks to my wonderful husband and his mom and sister and cousin. Chris bought my mom and I both pedicures at this place that I've been wanting to try (He's so cute!). One for me (for obvious reasons LoL) and one for my mom for spending the night and helping us so much with Paisley. We went on Saturday morning and Chris' mom, Susan, and his sister and cousin watched Paisley while we went. ( I let (LoL) Chris go fishing all day so he didn't babysit). anyway, the pedicure was amazing!!! I'm definitely going back there..it was the best I've ever gotten. Then on Sunday my family (we missed Jenn and her family though) came over and we celebrated my 21st birthday (my real birthday was Monday) It was very fun but loud...I was so tired after everyone left. On Monday, we went to Pizza Bell for lunch and we took Paisley. I figured that since it was close to home and we would only be gone for 1/2 hour and there wasn't a lot of people there it would be ok to take her out..oh and the weather was nice too. so that was her first outing besides the doctors. Anyway, Chris had class that night so I sent my 21st birthday at home watching TV with Paisley LoL ...pretty wild, huh? jk It was fine...she's so cute, I didn't even mind :) chris had a mid term so he couldn't skip class anyway but he got out early so it wasn't too bad. Well here are a few pics from my birthday party...

2 Weeks Old!!

Well, today is Paisley's 2 week birthday!! :) Crazy...I can't believe it's already been 2 weeks...i'm so ready to be able to bring her out though...first reason- I want to show her off!! ..second reason- I'm tired of just sitting and watching TV all day (which is something I never thought I'd say LoL) sitting and watching TV all day sounded like Heaven before I had Paisley because that's what I love to do but after doing it for 2 weeks straight and hardly going outside I'm so ready to be able to go out with her! LoL She's still doing great. We're getting the hang of breastfeeding a little better now so that's good. She doesn't look jaundiced at all anymore and her eyes no longer have gunk coming out of them LoL She is so pretty and really a good baby (I'm so grateful for that). She has her 2 week appt at the doctors on friday morning and I'm anxious to see how much she's gained etc. I knew she looked like Chris but last night we pulled out a picture of Chris when he was a newborn and they look identical...I'll scan it and post it with a picture of her by it soon so you all can see. Anyway, I just thought I'd post a couple pictures of Paisley on her 2 week birthday :)
This is this morning, before nana came over and gave her a bath

This is after her bath and a good meal :) (she sleeps just like me...with her arms up by her head..she was like that in her ultrasounds too..funny huh?)

ok...so this isn't from today but Chris and I thought it was funny that she looks like she is trying to hold the bottle LoL

More on Paisley

An update on Paisley....she had a little bit of jaundice but not high enough levels to be put under the lights at the hospital. we just kept her in the natural light during the day and now it looks like it's pretty much gone. She also had a blocked tear duct so she had yellow gunk coming out of her eyes but we got some ointment for that and that's pretty much gone too now. We're still working on the breastfeeding thing...it seems like by the end of the day my milk is gone and she is constantly eating...like she's not getting enough :( so we have been giving her formula at night because I feel like she's starving...although I really didn't want to give her formula, I'd rather do that than her starve. I'm hoping that by her breastfeeding during the day and pumping, my milk supply will come in fully soon!! I'm just so thankful that she is healthy...what a blessing! I just love her so much, she's such a sweet baby :) Here are some random pictures we've taken since my last post...

Paisley at home

So here are some new pictures of Paisley at home...Nana has spent the last two nights here which has helped so much!! I am so grateful for my mom and all that she has done and is doing for us. It has been so nice having her help watch Paisley while Chris and I sleep (she wakes me up when Paisley wants to eat LoL), clean my house and cook for us, and the best part is, she loves it!!! (so I don't even feel bad :) LoL) My mom is amazing and loves children...so she's been helping me learn what to do and how to do it. It's nice having her live so close..i know I'll definitely be taking advantage of that over the years :) Anywho, she loves taking pictures too so i have her to thank for these cute pictures as well....what can I say...she's the best mom and I love her...I'm so lucky!

Paisley is here!!

This is a long story so don't feel like you have to read it, it's probably more for me than anyone :)

So, it was tuesday night and i had just come in from the office and had one last thing to do for work (put fundraising packets together for a group starting the next day but I figured since it was already 6 o clock I'd go in and do them while I watched TV....more entertaining than just sitting in the office, ya know?) So I go inside (chris is on his way home from work...he was busy that day because of the rain that we got over the weekend) and turn on the election update news, set out all of the packet papers and sit down but then I decided that I needed to just sit for a minute so I sat back but decided to start printing some cover letters for another group of packets that I needed to make for friday and then sit down...well, let's just say I never got to sit down because as I started printing those, I felt something in my pants and thought it was (sorry, this might be too much info but oh well..it's life) discharge so I started walking softly to the bathroom (hoping not to let it get everywhere in my pants) and all of the sudden i felt a gush, and then another! I sat on the toilet and it kept coming out..I looked down and it was clear so I figured it was my water so I called Chris (of course I was all teary eyed and emotional/freaking out LoL) and he was ok it's ok, just get your stuff together, hop in the shower, call labor and delivery..I'll be home in about 15 minutes and I'll shower and then we'll go..it's gonna be fine. (he was excited and cute!!) so I did all that and we got everything ready and packed in the car and headed to the hospital (by the way, by this time I had two pads on and it was going through to my pants!! It was so gross!) So we got there around 7:45 and did the paper work to be admitted and since the hospital pad thing i was sitting on was wet, they figured they didn't need to make sure my water had broken. LoL They then admitted me and put us in a room. It was so weird because just earlier that day I was like "I'm so ready for her to come, etc etc...but when I realized that my water had broken and she was coming within the next 24 hours, I didn't feel so ready anymore LoL I felt more nervous/scared...I was about to be a mom for goodness sake! something so new to first time mothers. Anywho, I wasn't having painful contractions but I was having them...the computer thing said so, but they wanted to see if my body would go into active labor on it's own. They said that they normally wait to start pitocin until 6-8 hrs after your water breaks because they'd rather your body go into labor naturally. So I was thinking ok, 12:30-2:30 I'll get the pitocin and we'll be on our way...not the case LoL My body did start to have some painful contractions but nothing too painful so we just kept waiting. I slept in between contractions for a bit but by about 5:30 or 6:00 I was feeling like I wanted something to help ease the pain so they gave me something in my IV (don't remember the name) but it didn't really help. The contractions kept getting worse and by about 7:00 am I wanted the epidural! but they took forever so I didn't get it until about 8 or 8:30. (they hadn't checked me to see how dilated I was up to this point because they didn't want to risk infection) They then checked me and I was a 6...within 20 minutes I felt like I wanted to push so they checked me and sure enough I was complete and ready to push..we waited about 15 minutes to actually start pushing though...mostly because Susan (chris' mom) had to go do a presentation (with the packets that I was about to do the night before LoL) and was on her way back to the hospital during the whole epidural and being complete phase...I finally decided that I couldn't wait and right when I started pushing she walked in...perfect timing! I pushed from 9:05 am until Paisley was born at 10:18 am. Chris, my mom, chris' mom, Rachel, and chris' sister ashley were there for the delivery...rachel and ashley will be the next ones to have babies out of mine and chris' families so it was cool for them to see it I think. I loved the epidural and I loved having family with me! Next time I'm asking for the epidural way sooner!! :) Chris was so sweet to me throughout the whole thing...he unhooked the IV and walked me to the bathroom when I needed to pee, asked the nurse for anything I wanted/needed, asked me if I wanted water etc and just was so caring. We are happy to be home our healthy little girl and appreciate all of the help we have...it's nice to have both of our families close!! My mom will be spending the night with us tonight. Last night actually wasn't too bad...she hasn't cried too much so far so chris and I were able to take turns staying up with her last night (obviously I was up more because I'm the one with the food, and she likes food, let me tell you!! LoL) but I did get a good three hours in last night so that was nice! So there's the long story of Paisley Eleanor Pack's birth. She was born November 5, 2008 at 10:18 am. She weighs 6 lbs 8 oz and is 19 inches long. Here she is:
