Tiny Tot Sports

September 17th

Another fun thing Shaylin got to start recently was the Tiny Tot Sports Class that the city puts on two times a year. They teach kids the basics of soccer, t-ball, and basketball. She was having a hard time keeping pre-school and tiny tot sports straight before she started them both during the same week but she was excited for them nonetheless. She had such a fun time learning about soccer during her first class. Her teacher definitely wore the kids out by having them run up and down the big field multiple times, playing red light-green light and also kicking the soccer ball back and forth across the field. It is also fun because Jayna knows the teacher from a while back when the teacher was in her parents ward in Ahwatukee.

Here is Shaylin running with her friend Anthony...(We purposely scheduled the class with a bunch of friends from the ward so that she'd be in the class with some of her friends, which she loves!)

Shaylin standing and listening to her teacher. Her friend Josie is on the right of her.

She was so cute throughout the class, because she would stop and wave to me (Jayna) and give me a big smile. She was glad to know I was watching her and seeing what a great job she was doing.

Here's the drill where her teacher rolled her the ball and she had to step on it with her foot to stop it.

This is what Emmalyn does every class. I am so lucky that she doesn't mind sitting in the stroller and watching all the kids run around. She also gets to hang out with her friend Adrian (Anthony's little brother). Adrian is so nice and shares his snacks with her also, which makes it easier for her to stay happy in the stroller. Thanks Meagan for always bringing snacks and sharing them with my kids! :0)

An action shot of Shaylin at her 2nd week of soccer...I forgot to also mention how excited she was to finally wear her knew tennis shoes that she got. We will have to do another post later with pictures of her playing t-ball and basketball.

Pre-School & Baby Justin

September 14th

Jayna recently helped organize a group of 5 parents who have kids Shaylin's age to do a pre-school co-op here in Maricopa. Shaylin was so excited for her first day of pre-school and had been anticipating it for quite a while. Shaylin has loved it so far and has so much fun learning new things and playing with her friends. We have even gone on a field trip to the local fire station and are planning to go on some more really fun field trips this year. There will be more posts to come on that, since we are so behind!

Here is Shaylin all ready for her first day, which was at our house so she actually didn't get to go anywhere. :0) It was kind of confusing for her. She loves to where her backpack and gets so excited to show everyone her school projects and work that she keeps in her folder inside her backpack.

We had to get a picture of Emmalyn with Shaylin on her first day also.

An action shot of the kids learning about the number 1 during circle time at the beginning of school. It was cute how they all ended up on their tummy's. They all have their own mats to sit on which makes it a little easier for them to stay in one spot. All the kids are actually doing better than we thought and do a great job listening.

Another picture before pre-school that had to be taken, because the girls were too cute. Yes, those are diapers on their stuffed animals. Shaylin actually puts them on and takes them off herself. We never even taught her, she just started doing it one day and does a really good job. We also caught her folding them up and throwing them away when she takes them off.

September 15th

Our newest nephew has arrived! Justin Richard Baker was born around 2am on Sept. 15th. It had been an extremely rough pregnancy for Becca, who had gall stones AND pancreatitis while she was pregnant. So we were doubly glad that Justin was finally here and that she would finally be able to have her gall bladder out. Justin arrived three weeks early and everyone is happy and healthy. He is so adorable and definitely looks like a Baker. Congratulations to Becca and Andy!

Labor Day Weekend

September 4th

We went camping with friends, the Payne's, in Payson on the Friday and Saturday before labor day. Although it was a short trip and we forgot some major items (note to selves: tent poles are a great thing to pack when going camping), we had a lot of fun. It was fun to hang out with Cameron, Corryn, and Jake and to meet some of their friends. Unfortunately we didn't get too many pictures, but here are two of the girls inside the Payne's tent that they were so nice to let us borrow for the night since we forgot our tent poles! It was great. :0) This is the girls favorite part of camping...they like to run around inside the tent when Matt is setting it up.

September 5th

After dinner on Saturday night, we made a shake. It wasn't anything too exciting, but we just felt like taking pictures of the girls having fun and getting messy eating them.

September 7th

On Monday, Labor Day, we went to Jayna's parents house to swim, eat, and Jayna permed Savannah (her cousins hair). We had a lot of fun spending time with family and cousins.

Emmalyn is starting to love to swim and has a fun time with Matt...

Emmalyn just hanging out and not giving us a real smile. :0)

Shaylin is just a little fish who loves to swim. Maybe by next year she won't need floaties, because she does a great job.

Emmalyn and Shaylin taking a leisurely swing together after swimming. They look pretty tired...

The girls had fun rocking back and forth on these banana chairs while Jayden (Jayna's sister) was playing them.

Shaylin's First Blow Dry Style

September 2nd

Shaylin loves to watch Jayna do everyone's hair and this day was finally her chance to get her hair done. Believe it or not, Jayna has never blowed dried her hair once. Her curls are just too cute and she doesn't want to damage Shaylin's hair. Jayna got her hair products out and styled Shaylin's hair. It was amazing how much longer and how different her hair looks! It was a lot of fun and Shaylin loved it.

Before Shaylin got her hair styled she was all ready in her princess dress up clothes, so she had double the fun modeling for the camera. Jayna got all angles of her first style, just like she does when she does up-dos.

And of course a picture with her sister Emmalyn. Jayna probably had as much fun as Shaylin did doing her hair. They are just too darn cute!
