Little Snowy

...and I'm back to Christmas cards! This time I've used a cute snowman from an older Penny Black set ('Jolly Friends'), which I coloured using watercolour pencils...adding some sparkle to the snowy ground with some Stickles. The papers are from the 'Bundled Up' pad by Crate Paper...I distressed the edges, then added some faux stitching with my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen. The snowflake was cut using a Memory Box die, the gem brad is from Craft Obsessions and the little pearls are by Papermania.

The papers are from the 'Bundled Up' pad by Crate Paper...I distressed the edges a little, then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen. Me To You...

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas time...and that Santa was good to you? I was a very lucky girl, and received some lovely new crafty goodies...and had a little play yesterday. They were mostly Christmas related...but, as I like to make Christmas cards all year round, that's not a problem! On today's card, I've used new papers (from the 'Silent Night' pad by First Edition) & a cute new stamp (simply called 'Presents' from the Me To You range of Christmas Characters). I coloured the image using watercolour pencils...adding some Stickles to the snowy ground for a touch of sparkle. I distressed the edges of papers, then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a white gel pen. The snowflake is a Memory Box die, and is held in place with a gem brad from Craft Obsessions...the adhesive pearls are from Hobbycraft.

I distressed all of the edges a little, then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen. We have another new ABC Christmas Challenge starting today...Lacey is the host, and the theme is:

'V is for Very Merry Christmas'
(Simply include these words in your sentiment...and if you don't have anything suitable, our lovely Samantha has created several for you to choose from.)

My 'Very Merry Christmas' sentiment is a Lili of the Valley stamp that I adapted...and the image is a Nellie Snellen stamp that my lovely DT buddy Samanatha sent for my birthday...so cute...thank you! The papers aren't Christmassy...they're from a pad by My Mind's Eye called 'Vintage Charms'...I inked the edges using 'Brushed Corduroy' Distress Ink, then distressed them a little too, before adding some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen. The snowflake was cut using a Memory Box die, the gem stone brad is from Craft Obsessions, and the pearls are from Hobbycraft.

ABC Christmas Challenge - O is for...

We have a new ABC Christmas Challenge starting today...Annette is the host, and the theme is:

'O is for Obscured'
Think hidden messages, secret compartments or masking

Our sponsor for this challenge is:

Prize - 7 Digital Stamps!

I 'obscured' part of a tree stamp using the masking technique...I stamped 'Snowy' (by Penny Black) first...then masked him off before stamping the Hero Arts tree over the top, so that it would look like Snowy was standing in front of it. I coloured the image using watercolour pencils, then added some sparkle using Stickles. The papers are from the 'Wonderful Winter' pad (by My Mind's Eye)...I doodle the borders using a black gel pen. I cut the snowflake from glitter card using my Cuttlebug 'Ice Crystal' die, and added a gemstone brad (from Craft Obsessions) to it's centre. The scalloped border was cut using my EK Success 'Scalloped Diamonds' punch.

Bear Blanks Baby

This is the card to go with the Nappy Cake I showed you last week for my friend's new baby (a little girl named Megan Alice). I used the same colours as the nappy cake...gender neutral...originally picked because I didn't know if the baby was going to be a boy or a girl...but my friend dislikes pink as much as I do, so I don't think she'll mind! The cute wee bears are the 'Bear Blanks' by Penny Black...I coloured them using watercolour pencils, then added the lettering to their boards. I used my Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots' for the embossing, added a big satin faux-bow (held in place with a diamonte brad from Craft Obsessions) to match the nappy cake...and a few pieces of Craftwork Cards 'Card Candi'.

Oldie but a Goodie - Glitz & Glam

It's time for a new challenge over at Oldie but a Goodie, and this fortnight the theme is:

'Glitz & Glam'

I'm not sure of the prize info at the time of writing this...so I'll update it when I get home from school :0)

I've used a Whiff of Joy image ('Willow Dressing Up') that my lovely friend Samantha sent to me ages ago...she's been waiting patiently for me to make a 'glamorous' card! lol I coloured her in my favourite colour...teal/aqua...to match the Heidi Grace papers. I added some frilly lace along the edges of one of the papers, and some sheer ribbon (both from Ribbon Reel)...with a faux bow held in place using a sparkly brad (from Craft Obsessions). For a little bit of 'glitz' I added a few sparkly gems & pearls.

Winter Wedding

My flatmate's brother is getting married today, and he asked me to make a card for him to give to the happy couple...the brief was 'not cute...white, but not all white...maybe some blue...that'd look nice' - this is what I came up with:

I went Cuttlebug Crazy...using lots of different embossing folders (Swiss Dots, D'Vine Swirls, Textile, Kassie's Brocade and Victoria), and 'Concentric Hearts' and 'Olivia' alphabet dies for the hearts and flowers. I distressed all of the edges a little using my distressing tool, and added adhesive pearls, seam binding ribbon (from the Ribbon Girls) and gemstone brads (from Craft Obsessions). The sentiment stamp is from a set by Lili of the Valley. The ribbon just poking out on the right-hand side, is on the end of a tag (on which he can write his message)...I made a little pocket to hold it underneath the fold - I never know where to write on an easel card! I also made a simple box to pur it in...but forgot to photogragh it! Ooops! Here's a side view:

Pile It On! Challenge - For a Princess

This week at Pile It On!, our challenge theme is:

'For a Princess'

Our sponsor this week is:

A Day for Daisies (will add prize info later).

I've used a Gorjuss Girl image on my card...it was an image sent to me ages ago in a swap, and I can't find her at Funky Kits, so I can't tell you what her name is unfortunately. I coloured her using watercolour pencils to match the bright Bo Bunny 'Love Bandit' papers I've used. I distressed the edges of the papers, then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen. I cut a couple of flowers from the papers using my Tim Holtz/Sizzix 'Tattered Florals' die, and attached them with a sparkly brad from Craft Obsessions. The sentiment was a freebie stamp (came with a Docrafts magazine)...and is perfect for a Birthday Princess with it's little crowns, and I added some extra sparkle with some pink adhesive gems.

Pile It On! Challenge - Tags

This week at the Pile It On! Challenge, we want to see:

'Tags'
(Or tags on your projects)

Our sponsor for this challenge is Whimsy Stamps.

I started by stamping my sentiment (a Penny Black stamp) in Versamark, then heat embossed it in white. I blended four different blue Distress Inks (Tumbled Glass, Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans & Chipped Saphire) over the top...then spritzed over a little water, before drying it with my heat gun. I cut the trees from co-ordinating colours of Distress Ink Core'dinations card using a Marianne Designs die, then embossed them using my Cuttlebug 'D'Vine Swirls' folder...sanding over the surface to reveal the core. I added some adhesive pearls to look like snow in the sky, then attached some random ribbons/fibres (from Craft Obsessions, Hobbycraft and the Ribbon Girls) to the top of the tag.

Anniversary Cards

I have a couple of Cuttlebug wedding anniversary cards to share today...for diamond and silver anniversaries. They're very similar...using my Cuttlebug 'Concentric Hearts' and 'Olivia Alphabet' dies, and 'Swiss Dots' folder. I kept the diamond anniversary card all white, adding some seambinding ribbon (from the Ribbon Girls) and a diamonte brad.

On the silver anniversary card, I used some silver mirror card, and kept everything flat...this one needs to be posted!

Party Princess

I have another red, white & blue card today...I've used 'Party Princess' (by Sugar Nellie)...she's prefect for all those 'Jubilee' challenges with her crown...and her little bear has a crown too! The papers are from the 'Boxer' pad by BasicGrey...I distressed the edges with 'Picket Fence' Distress Stain, and then my distressing tool, before adding faux stitching using mmy CutterBee Bug and a white gel pen. The sentiment stamp was a freebie with the latest DoCrafts mag...it's rather large, but I just had to use it because of the crowns! I used my EK Success 'Scalloped Diamonds' punch along the edge of the border, the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, and the sparkly gem brads are from Craft Obsessions.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - I Love You Mum!

This week, it's Franz's turn to choose the theme of the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge, which is:

'I love you Mum!'

We are sponsored for this challenge by:

The prize is a $10 voucher to spend in the Digi Doodles store!

As we've already celebrated Mother's Day in the UK, I've made a tag/bookmark for my Mum. I started by blending 'Evergreen Bough', 'Pine Needles' and 'Stormy Sky' Distress Inks over my tag...spritzing a little water over the top. I stamped my much loved 'Agapanthus Clusters' stamp (by Stampendous) using the watercolour technique in 'Pine Needles' and 'Faded Jeans'...then added a couple of sentiments from the 'Anytime Messages' set by Hero Arts. I inked around the edges using 'Brushed Corduroy' and sprayed a gold Cosmic Shimmer over the top...then added a mixture of seambinding, twine and fluffy fibres.

Pile It On! Challenge - Blue, Blue, Blue!

This week's Pile It On! Challenge is:

'Blue, Blue, Blue!'
We'd like to see three shades of blue on your projects

We are sponsored for this challenge by

Prize - $15 voucher to spend in Krisi's Kreations!
There are lots of fabulous templates, fonts and hybrid projects in the store...so the winner is in for a real treat!

The DT were allowed to choose something from the store to play with for this challenge, and I went for the Cake Slice gift box...I've always fancied having a go at one of these! I chose three shades of blue Core'dinations card, and printed the template on to the lightest piece. Once I'd cut and folded the template, I decorated it using my EK Success 'Scalloped Dimaonds' border punch, my Cuttlebug 'D'Vine Swirls' folder, and my new 'Tattered Florals' die. I attached the flower in using a jewelled brad from Craft Obsessions, and used a piece of seam binding ribbon (from the Ribbon Girls) dyed using Distress Inks to hold the box closed.

In the Pink!

Whilst stamping some images last weekend, I came across the adorable 'Boo Boo Bear' (by Whipper Snapper), who hasn't seen ink in a while so I thought I'd stamp him...I don't know anyone in need of a 'Get Well Soon' card, but it doesn't hurt to be prepared! I coloured him using watercolour pencils, and added a sentiment from the CCSR set by Papermaina, before cutting him out using one of my 'Lacey Circle' Nesties. The papers are from the 'Oh La La (for Her)' collection by My Mind's Eye, and I distressed the edges before adding some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a white gel pen. The flowers are by Prima, the gem brads are from Craft Obsessions, and the adhesive pearls are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
