Ice Skating Henry Mouse

I have a Christmas card to share today...featuring an old Whiff of Joy stamp called 'Ice Skating Henry Mouse'. I stamped him on to a snippet of watercolour paper, then coloured him using watercolour pencils. For the background, I used a Chloe Creative Stamps background stamp called 'Christmas Sentiment Background'...stamping it on to a piece of watercolour effect paper (from the 'Mystery Marbles' pad by Craft Sensations) using Versamark Ink, then heat embossing it in white. I added a snippet of white card along the bottom, then carefully cut Henry out, popped him on top using 3D foam pads, then matted it all on to navy card before adding it to a white card blank.

Henry Hugging Heart

Today's card features a really old Whiff of Joy image called 'Henry Hugging Heart'. I coloured him using watercolour pencils, then added a sentiment from the 'Sending Sunshine' set by Simon Says Stamp underneath. For the background, I embossed some plain white card using a Hobbycraft embossing folder called 'Heart Gradient', then simply matted both panels on to some matching hot pink card.

Cupcake Henry

Today's card features an old Whiff of Joy stamp called 'Henry - Celebrating Mouse'...another stamp that had not seen ink for several years! I stamped him on to watercolour paper, coloured him using watercolour pencils, then added some Stickles to the cupcake frosting. I used a snippet of stripy paper (from the 'Paper Geometrie' pad by Folia Paper) for a simple background...distressing the edges a little, and adding faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen. The sentiment stamp is from the 'Cupcakes' set by Hero Arts.

Wee & Reindeer

I have a super simple Christmas card to share today...featuring a really old Whiff of Joy stamp called 'Wee & Reindeer' which, to my shame, has not seen ink for nearly three years! I doodled a frame around the image, then coloured it using watercolour pencils, added a sentiment (from the 'Scribbly Christmas' set by Tim Holtz), then added it to a kraft card blank.

ABC Christmas Challenge - C & D are for?

We have a fun new ABC Christmas Challenge starting today...Wilma is the host, and the themes are:

'C is for Candy'
&
'D is for Decorations'

There are a couple of prizes on offer for two lucky winners:

Having gone with a candy cane die cut on one of my projects for last month's challenge, I had a rummage through my stamped images for something different, and found this one by Whiff of Joy...which I think is called 'Henry Mouse & Friend - Candy Cane'. I coloured it using watercolour pencils, then added a sentiment (from the 'Scribbly Christmas' set by Tim Holtz for Stampers Anonymous) underneath. I distressed the edges a little, added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen, then matted in on to some coordinating red card.

I have quite a collection of stamps of decorations, and with decorations as part of the image, and picked this adorable Lili of the Valley one (called 'Trim the Tree') as I haven't used it in years! Again, I coloured the image using watercolour pencils...adding a touch of gold to the stars with a Sakura stardust pen. I paired the image with some My Mind's Eye papers (from the 'Countdown to Christmas' pad), distressing the edges and adding some faux stitching.

I'm also entering these cards into the following challenges:

ABC Christmas Challenge - P, Q & R are for?

We have another fun ABC Christmas Challenge starting today...Chrissy is the host, and we have three awesome themes this month, which you can choose between, or combine:

'P is for People',
'Q is for Quick'
&
'R is for Red'
(Just don't forget the Christmas theme!)

Our sponsor for this challenge is Lawn Fawn:
Lawn Fawn
Prize - a Stamp Set & 6x6 Paper Pad of the winner's choice!

I made a card for each of the three themes...the first one features 'People' in the 'Skating' stamp by Rachelle Anne Miller for Stampavie, which I coloured using watercolour pencils. The papers are from the 'Bundled Up' pad by Crate Paper...I distressed the edges a little, then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen. The sentiment stamp is from the 'Scribbly Christmas' set by Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous.

Challenges for this card:
For my 'Quick' card, I coloured an image I'd stamped a while ago...it's called 'Caroling Chicks' by Stamping Bella. I coloured it using watercoloure pencils, trimmed it down to the width of my card base, then cut the top of the image using one of my Lawn Fawn 'Stitched Hillside' border dies. The sentiment came in the same stamp set.

Challenges for this card:
For my 'Red' card, I picked an old Whiff of Joy stamp that I think is called 'Henry & Friend - Candy Cane'. Again, I coloured the image using watercolour pencils, and added another sentiment from the 'Scribbly Christmas' set. I matted it on to a piece of kraft card...having cut a scalloped border using my 'Scalloped Diamonds' punch by EK Success, then mounted it onto a red card base.

I've used a old Whiff of Joy image on my card called 'Wee & Reindeer' which after a brief search back through through my blog posts, I discovered I hadn't used since August 2013! So it was about time that it saw some ink! I coloured the image using watercolour pencils and combined it with papers from the 'Tea House' pad by Dovecraft, and 'Bundled Up' pad by Crate Paper. I distressed all of the edges a little, then added some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen. The little sentiment stamp is from a set by Lili of the Valley.

Henry & Cupcake

Another 'blast from the past' today...I'm using 'Henry Celebrating Mouse' by Whiff of Joy...last inked up in July 2012...eeeek! I coloured Henry using watercolour pencils, then added lots of Glamour Dust to the cupcake frosting and candle flame. I kept it simple, using a strip of stripey paper from the 'Now & Then' pad by My Mind's Eye...adding some faux stitching using my CutterBee Bug and a black gel pen. Wee with Reindeer

I've had a play with some of my other new birthday goodies...and it's the papers that are new on tooday's card...they're from the 'Christmas in the Country' pad by Papermania. The image is 'Wee with Reindeer' by Whiff of Joy...which I coloured using watercolour pencils, adding some Stitckles to the 'snowy' ground. The snowflake was cut using my Cuttlebug 'Ice Crystal' die...then coated with Glamour Dust...with a button threaded with twine in the centre. Oldie but a Goodie - Glitz & Glam

It's time for a new challenge over at Oldie but a Goodie, and this fortnight the theme is:

'Glitz & Glam'

I'm not sure of the prize info at the time of writing this...so I'll update it when I get home from school :0)

I've used a Whiff of Joy image ('Willow Dressing Up') that my lovely friend Samantha sent to me ages ago...she's been waiting patiently for me to make a 'glamorous' card! lol I coloured her in my favourite colour...teal/aqua...to match the Heidi Grace papers. I added some frilly lace along the edges of one of the papers, and some sheer ribbon (both from Ribbon Reel)...with a faux bow held in place using a sparkly brad (from Craft Obsessions). For a little bit of 'glitz' I added a few sparkly gems & pearls.
