Solar Auxilia - Hermes Light Sentinel Squadron

I just love the looks one the Hermes Light Sentinels. 

They are built so I can swap weapons and ammo with magnets or pushfit. I think I will mostly play them with the multilaser for the longer range as these are really really sensitive to return fire.

One of the crewmen is given a cossack head from Puppetwars. The backpack on the other Sentinels back is from Mortianshop
These are really fun models and just bending the legs differently gives them that added variation.
I used some Imperial Guard bits on one of them to get the crewman standing with a binocular looking above the protective armour to get a better view of the area ahead.>

Rulewise I dont like them. Sure they are cheep pointwise but you cant really field them in numbers where they can make an impact with their poor BS and weaponry. Those bases are to big for a weak model like this, they take to much room on the gaming table.

With that said I still love the miniatures, I just dont expect them to do anything on the gaming table.

Solar Auxilia Medicae Section

 

My friend Håkan talked about playing a game of Horus Herasy soon and It was about as much of an nudge I needed to get interested in my Solar Auxilia again...

I had these converted these Medicae Auxiliary laying around and they needed paint.
A quick paintjob but I like them.

The miniatures are made from bits of the Solar Auxilia artillery crews and some 40k Imperial Guard bits.

For the painting I went with a mint coloured protective suit and white helmets to make them stand out from my regular infantry and I think its colours that fits for medics or a surgical nurse.

 

 

70e Régiment d'Infanterie de Ligne

Another unit of French infantry done.

The miniatures are Victrix miniatures, I really like their faces. So full of character.
I gave these miniatures somewhat lighter colour of blue on their jackets then some of my other units. I like to have some variations on the uniforms, they cant all have pristine uniforms that follows the regulation when lots of men needs uniforms and the money gets tight in the new republic. Same with their trousers, I tried to get some variation there.

My friend Tobias and I had set a date for a new game of Black Powder and this is the last unit I managed to paint to join the battle.
