Cover for a Lobster Johnson one-shot drawn by Troy Nixey -- this one stayed pretty close to the original watercolor thumbnail:

I got the go-ahead to overlap the Lobster over the title, so design plays a crucial role on this one. Here's a rough mockup of the final version:

Since Zero #14 is out, I can finally show this cover that I've been sitting on for nearly two years (click for a slightly bigger picture) --

I still like it, which is a rare case. Maybe it's my favorite, even. I remember being sick to my stomach of drawing another picture of the main guy standing, and really wanted to find any other way of including him on the cover. Luckily, the plot of the issue provided a direction. I ended up drawing a different issue, so this one was drawn by Marek Oleksicki, who did a really great job.

There were also labels for things, which didn't make it to the final cover, but they help explain some objects -- particularly the circle in the middle.

..the tiny one. Adventures of my wife, part 9000. Strangely, but swearing at the bee did not make it go away. I got the report of this through a single text, and had to draw it.

Stacking up nicely with last year's Abe, here's Hellboy, done for Multiversity's "31 days of Hellboy". Just like last year, they're running a competition that you should check out, if you draw. And surprisingly, as with Abe, I'm happy with how this one turned out. Let's see how it goes next year...
