Cover for a Lobster Johnson one-shot drawn by Troy Nixey -- this one stayed pretty close to the original watercolor thumbnail:

I got the go-ahead to overlap the Lobster over the title, so design plays a crucial role on this one. Here's a rough mockup of the final version:

The three sketches I hid last week at The Beguiling, in Toronto, for #artdropday. Two of them are still there.

The last issue of Get the Lobster is out next wednesday, and a color preview has popped up, so here's a few of the pages in black and white:

Get the Lobster #1 is out this Wednesday! Here's the link to a color preview, and below are a couple of black and whites. Hope you pick it up-- this one is way crazier than anything so far.

GTL! #1

The cover of the first issue of the next series, out early next year. As a friend dubbed it, "The Soundgarden cover". I also did the hand-lettered title for this one, separate from the main image. Here's the sketch for it:

This one's not from the tour, but it's pretty much in the same mode-- it's actually from a discarded digital layout. One cup of coffee to ink, one to color.
