Nubar Indigo Illusion (Picture Heavy)

I finally tried my one and only Nubar polish that I won in a giveaway from Sarah over at The Giveaway Lifestyle who is on a break at the moment. Indigo Illusion is part of the core range of Nubar and is a duochrome polish that shifts from green to purple.

I applied a coat of Sally Hansen Triple Strong base coat. I used two coats of Indigo Illusion and the colour shift really came out to play with the second coat. I finished it off with a coat of Revlon Colorstay top coat.

Look at these pretties! Lots of photos in artificial light to show the colour shift :)

I had to show just how pretty this beauty is even in the shade. Look how gorgeous the colour shift still is! And yes it was starting to rain when I took these so please ignore the water droplets. Oooh look at the pretty gold in there amongst the green and purple!

And this one to show the colour shift across all nails at once!

I'm in love with this polish! I knew that Nubar did amazing duochromes from seeing swatches on others blogs but I couldn't begin to grasp just how gorgeous Indigo Illusion is. I'm so thankful to Sarah for sending this polish to me :)

OPI Go On Green

I was in the mood for some green! So I chose OPI Go On Green from the Brights collections. Go On Green is a gorgeous duochrome that shifts from light blue to green.

I applied one coat of OPI Nail Hardener as my base coat. Then I applied three coats of Go On Green which was very sheer. I found the application very easy - the brush was easy to control and although thin the formula was still easy for me to work with. Then I applied a coat of Seche Vite to seal the manicure.

These photo's were taken in artificial light.

Then the following day I took these photo's in the natural light.

I adore this colour! Each time I see this colour it instantly reminds me of mermaid scales.I really can't wait to try this over black, I think it will make the colour 'pop' even more! I really love this colour but it is very sheer and seemed to pull away from the edges of my nails before I put my top coat on.

Orly Galaxy Girl (Pic Heavy!!)

I haven't yet tried Orly nail polish so I figured now was as good a time as any :) With that in mind I grabbed Orly Galaxy Girl from the Cosmic FX collection. Galaxy Girl is a gorgeous duochrome that shifts from a burgundy/mahogany colours to a rich teal blue. the colour is primarily a deep rich burgundy that has a teal blue shimmer. In certain lights thought it becomes a duochrome and it shifts to the teal blue colour.

I applied a coat of Revlon Calcium Gel Nail Hardener followed by three coats of Galaxy Girl. Galaxy Girl is very thin and I found it a bit difficult to work with since it was watery. It wasn't possible to use thick coats since the formula was so watery so I used three very thin coats. Since this was my first time using Orly I found the brush took some getting use to and it was also more difficult because it was watery.

These photo's were taken in artificial light that night.

I did the best to capture the duochrome shift to the teal blue :(

The majority of the time Galaxy Girl was the mahogany/burgundy colour with a teal blue shimmer which was easy to capture. However, the colour would shift to this amazing teal blue that wouldn't be captured >.<. When I first put this on I wasn't a fan, the dark burgundy colour just didn't suit me but the gorgeous blue shimmer and duochrome saved this nail polish for me.
