Revlon Galaxy over Ulta3 Blue Heaven

I wanted to try out the other Revlon Top Coat nail polish that I had picked up. So I decided to try Galaxy over the Ulta3 Blue Heaven manicure I was already wearing.

This time I only applied one thick coat instead of two thin coats like I did with Slipper. It applied very easily and like slipper the glitter is well suspended in the clear coat. Galaxy has black and blue glitter and then the same holographic hexagons that Slipper has. I added a layer of Sally Hansen Mega Shine top coat to help smooth it out but the following morning it was still a bit bumpy so I would recommend trying Seche Vite instead.

These photos were taken in artificial light.

Then these in natural light the following day.

I think I like this top coat even better than Slipper! I can see wearing Galaxy over numerous other colours since it's primarily made up of black and silver hexagons.

Revlon Slipper over Ulta3 Mango Mayhem

I picked up two of the Revlon Top Coat glitters from Gloss for AUD$5 each. I decided to try Revlon Slipper first. It contains fine red and silver square glitter with silver holographic hexagons in a clear base. Since it's a top coat I applied it over Ulta3 Mango Mayhem instead of a red because I wanted to clearly get an idea of what Slipper looks like.

I applied two coats over my previous manicure. As a top coat the glitter sits in a clear base and since I added two coats the glitter sits in layers instead of sinking together. Even though it's a top coat I added a coat of Sally Hansen Mega Shine top coat.

These photos were taken immediately afterwards in artificial light.

The following day I took these photos in the natural light. The glitter had actually sunk down so it looked less like it was 'floating' in the clear base.

I think that you would have to wear this as a top coat because it would take a hundred layers to become opaque. I like the contrast of the orange to the red and silver glitter but I can't wait to wear Slipper over a black. At some point I will still try Slipper over a red but I am most eager to try it over a black base.

China Glaze Fairy Dust

I wanted to try out China Glaze Fairy Dust and at the time I already had on Modelista On Location - Berlin. Fairy Dust is multicoloured holographic glitter in a clear base. I applied one thin coat of Fairy Dust over On Location - Berlin. Then I topped it all off with a coat of Seche Vite Dry Fast top coat which made the surface nice and smooth.

These photo's are in artificial light after I applied Fairy Dust.

Intentionally blurry to try and show just how intense the holographic glitter is in Fairy Dust!

Then the following day I took photo's in the sunlight.

 Again the blurry shot :)

Fairy Dust is perfect to add some holographic sparkle to any colour. The formula is slightly thick so a bit of thinner might be on the menu. I was moving my nails around at night, playing around to see the different sparkles. The primary colours were blue, red and green but as you can see in the photo's its full of many colours. Be warned I only applied a thin coat of Fairy Dust and yet it was a massive PITA to remove. It was so gritty and I would definitely recommend using the Foil Method to remove it. This is now my favourite top coat to apply to spice up any manicure!

Australis Speck-tacular (Pic heavy!)

From the moment I read this post by Alanna at PrettyPurplePolish I knew I had to get Australis Speck-tacular! At the time I didn't own any flakie nail polishes so to see this one available had me racing to my local Priceline to buy it. Now I am so excited because this is my first and currently only flakie nail polish - although I have my eye on Chi Chi Crystal Top Coat :)

I applied one coat of Speck-tacular over my previous OPI Black Onyx manicure. Speck-tacular applied so easily and I found one coat gave almost perfect coverage. If there are certain areas that didn't get any flakie it's really easy to just dab some more polish on because it all melds together really easily appearing seamless. Even though Speck-tacular is a Crystal Colour Top Coat I found that the intensity of the flakes was diminished because it dried to an almost semi matte finish. So to get that gorgeous flakie shine back I applied a coat of Seche Vite Dry Fast top coat which worked wonders - there was my gorgeous flakie shine back!

As soon as my manicure was dry I took lots of photo's in the artificial light.

The next day, still suffering through the horrendous heatwave, I again ventured forth into the blazing heat to get photo's in the sunlight.

OMG! This is such a fantastic flakie! I think I need to go and buy another bottle since apparently it's limited edition and I'm completely obsessed with it. It has blue, orange, yellow, green, purple and pink flakies all packed into a clear base. Love love love this flakie polish!!! honestly I don't think there's anything more to say the photo's show just how amazing this flakie is.
