Another one of those “responsible gun owners” practices self-politeness.

The 43-year-old man told officers he accidentally shot himself while placing a firearm into his pocket, according to dispatches from APD. The man self-reported the incident to police around 11:20 a.m. from the 2800 block of Telek Place.

When carolers come a-caroling, greet them with politeness.

An Annapolis man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly pointed a gun at three 12-year-old girls who had come to his door to sing carols Saturday night. . . .

We are a broken society.

Yet another oxymoronic “responsible gun owner” fails to keep his portable phallus in his pants.

In Douglas County (Nebraska–ed.) court Tuesday, KETV learns more about the 5-year-old boy who shot himself early Sunday afternoon.

Prosecutors say he was sleeping with his father, who had the gun in his pants. The man reportedly had a gun safe and was aware of how to use it.

(snip)

“The defendant reported that he must’ve fallen asleep, the gun fell out of his pocket,” the prosecuting attorney said in court.

And another reminder that, despite what words police spokespersons and news reports might use, “accidental” and “negligent” are not synonyms.

One more time, “responsible gun owner” is an oxymoron (sort of like the title of this series of posts).

According to the arrest report, Goodrum told detectives that she was drinking the night before and placed a handgun under a couch cushion.

She told detectives she woke up the next morning, bought groceries and alcohol, and started making breakfast in the kitchen when she heard a loud “pop” from the living room.

According to the arrest report, Bright was outside grilling at the time but heard the “pop” too.

That’s when the parents realized the twin boys were shot and rushed them to the hospital.
