Love and Romance

Morning all, this is just a quick post as I will be back later with a long one! For this card I used the fantastic sketch from Sketch Saturday and both the Penny Black and Kaboodle challenges have a love/romance theme this week.

When I saw this week's sketch on sketch saturday I was thrilled as it was yet another opportunity to whip out the nesties!!! Brilliant sketch too, simple but so effective and I will be using this one again for sure.

The penny black image is coloured with distress inks and the papers are kaboodle downloads. I used my swiss dots embossing folder to carry the spotty theme through from the background paper.

Supplies:
Card/Paper: White and pink card, Kaboodle - Party Picnic
Stamp: Penny black
Colouring: Distress inks - vintage photo, walnut stain, broken china, worn lipstick, tattered rose and dusty concord. Green whispers pen.
Embellishments: Jewels
Tools: Cuttlebug, nesties, swiss dots embossing folder, water brush
Thanks for looking x

Birthday Card for Bex

Another break from christmas crafting today. It a friend's birthday in between christmas and new year so I've made this card in plenty of time. It is also for quite a few challenges as time is getting the better of me and we are off to England at the end of next week...Yippee! I have followed sketch 28 from Sketch Saturday and the theme for both Kaboodle Challenge 15 and Secret Crafter Challenge 10 is embossing so I have used a cuttlebug embossed strip for the border in the middle of the card. The heart on her bracelet and the one in the top left corner of the card fit the theme for Cute Card Thursday Challenge 39 and my scalloped edge on the middle border fits the theme of scallops for Dutch Dare Challenge 26....Pheww!
I have used white, blue and silver metallic card, the papers are from K & Co Sparkly Sweet, I coloured the Penny Black image with my whispers pens and I have finished off with two small flowers and two little jewels in the centre. I didn't add a sentiment as I thought it would crowd the card a little and the papers are just too pretty to cover up. The papers and the flowers are from a recent candy win that were sent to me by Lynsey, she has a fantastic blog so check it out if you have time.

Kaboodle Ch 13 & Sketch Saturday Ch 26

Nope not another tag!! The challenge this week on Kaboodle was not to use square or rectangular shaped cards so I've made a tri fold tag shaped one instead. I've been wanting to try one of these for a while and this was the perfect opportunity. I've also used the sketch from Sketch Saturday for the front section of the card.
I have used cream, red and green card, papers from the dovecraft contemporary christmas range, the snowflakes are punched from red, green and gold mirrored card and I used a small red jewel in the centre of the middle panel.

The penny black image is coloued with whispers, the sentiment on the front panel was done on my computer using the font segoe script, the tassels are held on by a black brad and I have put a gold one on either side to decorate. The centre panel has been edged and sponged with gold ink but it has been left black so i can write on it!
To finish the whole thing off I made a simple, matching envelope for it. x

What's Black and White and......

Hi girls! I have managed to get in a little crafting this afternoon and I have made a tag that covers three challenges. Penny Black Week 23 and Kaboodle Challenge 12 have the theme monochromatic and I have used sketch 25 from Sketch Saturday. Sorry for using the same stamped image - I have just realise it is the same one as my last post, but I don't have many images that are small enough to fit on a tag and that can be made "Christmasy", and I've still got loads to do and not enough time!!! But I bet we can all say that!!! Anyway..... I have used black and white card, the black and white papers are from my stash, the penny black image is coloured with my whispers pens, the sentiment was done on my computer using the font tempus sans itc, the snowflake is punched from silver mirrored card and I have used a silver brad to secure the bits on the top (not sure what to call them!!!). Now I am no longer afraid of my ink pads I have edged and sponged the edges of each element so that it didn't look drab and I have added a little silver stickles to the present.

Sketch Saturday Ch 24 & Kaboodle Ch 11

Phew! I don't know where this week has gone! I haven't had anytime to craft since last Saturday and I have just managed to squeeze one card in this afternoon! This one is for Sketch Saturday Challenge 24 and Kaboodle Challenge 11 which is buttons and bling. I have used navy and hot pink card, the paper is a free download from do crafts, the stamp is penny black ice & snow and I have water coloured it. For my "bling" element I have used a silver ink pad on the panel of pink card on the right, a metal snowflake embellishment, icicle stickles on the ice she is skating on and three small jewels.

I have used red and white card, the papers are from the kaboodle all star range, the penny black image was water coloured using my whispers pens and the sentiment was done on my computer using the font segoe script.

Halloween with a Twist

A lot of the challenges are halloween themed at the moment, but I don't have anything halloweenish to my name, so I had to improvise a bit!! Kaboodle Challenge 9 was to use the download provided so that provided me with something and I went off in search for another download and found the fabby bat paper on printable heaven. As well as Kaboodle, this card also fits the bill for Penny Black week 20 and I used black and orange card, the penny black image is coloured in with whispers markers, the papers are free downloads from kaboodle and printable heaven and the sentiments were done on my computer using the font tempus sans ITC. I dragged the edge of each section through my black ink pad and I sponged black ink onto the edge of the purple paper to try and achieve a spooky feel!!! Finally I finished off with a hand doodled cobweb. I hope you like!

I used white and green card, paper from the kaboodle party picnic range, the penny black image is coloured with whispers markers, two snowflakes are punched from green shiny card and the other two are punched from white card and decorated with stickles and finally the sentiment was done on my computer using the font segoe print.

Kaboodle Challenge 6

The Kaboodle Challenge 6 was to follow a sketch so I decided to make a christmas tag this week. I used white and navy card, papers from the dovecraft winter wonderland range, the penny black image is coloured with water colours, the sentiment was done on my computer using the font segoe script and I finished off with two punched snowflakes, one in silver card and the other in white card decorated with stickles. I used wavy scissors to make the trim across the middle, but unfortunately most of it is covered by the image. This is the first attempt at water colouring that I thought was good enough to go on my blog, I still have a long way to go with it and it is way harder than it looks!!!!

Kaboodle Challenge 5

The Kaboodle Challenge 5 was to use the free download provided. Once again, lovely papers but I just couldn't seem to get it right, and this is what I came up with in the end. I used black and white card, the stamped image is from a stack that I bought on ebay so I am not sure where it is from but it is coloured with whispers markers, the kaboodle papers, the flower was cut using a cuttlebug, the sentiment was done on my computer using the font segoe script and I finished off with some small jewels.

Kaboodle Challenge 4

The Kaboodle Challenge 4 was to use a non-traditional embellishment. I got my thinking cap on and managed to come up with a very uninspirational paper clip!!! Believe it or not, I have made yet another christmas card and I have used white and green card, the papers are from the kaboodle party picnic range, the penny black image is coloured with my whispers markers, I decorated the paper clip with a snowflake peel off sticker and I finished off with three small jewels and a chipboard sentiment (another kind donation by my boyfriends mum).

Kaboodle Challenge 3

The Kaboodle Challenge this week was "tearing it up". I have made another christmas card using purple and lilac card, the penny black image is coloured using my whispers markers, the papers I have torn are from the kaboodle party picnic range, the sentiment was done on my computer using the font segoe script and I finished it off with two beads and a small jewel.

Kaboodle Challenge 2 & Cupcake Challenge 4

The Kaboodle Challenge 2 was to incorporate spots on your design and the Cupcake Challenge 4 had a cupcake theme. After I had made my card I realised that it would work for both challenges..... so I managed a 2 in 1 and didn't even realise!! I used white cardstock to make a diamond fold card and the papers are from the Kaboodle party picnic range and the multicoloured spotty one is a free download from Printable Heaven. The Kaboodle party picnic papers are so cute and the multicoloured spotty one worked really well with them - I think I will be using this combo time and time again! Apologies for the naf photos, it was a bit sunny and where ever I took them I ended up with dark shadows!!

Kaboodle Challenge 1

The first Kaboodle Challenge was to create something with their free download challenge kit. I had never used any downloads before when making cards and I was mightily impressed with the quality of them and the funky design. I decided to make a pocket card as I had never done one before so I thought I would have a bash! I used white card stock for the main card, red card stock for the tab and the black, red and white papers from the download.
