Birthdays,,

I was all out yesterday with the team, tried to finish up the work till late evening. Kandis is quite a tough site to work with. Rain poured all of us wet, at the open field. We had no shelter and we kept going. Then, someone told me it was his birthday today (27th) and I have asked him to work, in the rain. Oh no! Felt very very sorry for him cause I did not plan to ruin his birthday. Should include him in my FB birthday book.. Hehehe..

Then I remembered, it was someone's birthday too.. someone closed to me many many years ago, but never seen again since I graduated. I guess I have few close encounters with Pisces people, but Cancer will always be my favorite ppl to be with (and Dragon's too!).
Today, we travelled whole day to Kulim, missed good scenery (as I as told by my excellent driver) at the top of the hill along East-Coast Highway Jeli - Gerik because of heavy rain. Tomorrow I'm hoping good weather will have mercy on us. Got to finish everything and go back to KL on time. Everyone is waiting anxiously to be with their family again, including me!

Is that me?

I browsed thru one of my thick personal files searching for my insurance portfolio. Instead, I found result of my first profile test back in 2001, when I attended job interview with my current company. Kind of weird, because I am still like that now, and it has been 7 years now working with them. Just want to share this:

"Noradlina is quite open-minded and reflective. She is quite optimistic. Noradlina has a natural tendency to analyse facts and problems. She tends to stick to a task and persevere. Noradlina is good at the implementation stage of projects. She is quite creative and progressive. Noradlina however, may have significant trouble putting forward her needs. She prefers not to be in a helpful or supportive role. Noradlina is quite motivated by challenging work. She has a strong intention to improve herself. Noradlina however, may be quite moderate in expressing warmth and empathy. She usually does the minimum amount of organizing necessary to be effective."

Yep, that was myself back then. I guess now, I am a bit soft with people but sincerely, not very supportive if they are not showing dedication towards their own work. If I were to take the test now, I am sure something related to planning will come out.. perhaps someone who is very optimistic and not the usual kind of employee you see everyday in a normal office? Hmmm..

Note: Germany trip is far away.. have to wait till Monday to know the result.. Argghh!

Just Keep Going!

Last night, I stayed up late to finish up a very important paper to submit today. I procrastinated alot last week and ended up waking up late almost every nite this week to finish up everything. Tiring week and I am down with flu. The most amazing thing, I could keep myself silent when my DH screamed at me seeing me working at half past two in the morning. Sharp quote that made me cried inside, but I kept going till the last dot. Finished and packed everything away, put washed clothes in the spinner and waited for another half an hour to tidy up the house. It was 3 o'clock in the morning, and I was crying alone thinking about everything that he said. How could someone so close to you still could not make themselves understand you? I need to keep going, even though everything in this world turns their back on me, I will keep going. I'm not a perfectionist anymore though I was born to be one. Perfections are killing me. Procrastication stresses me more. Lessons well taught.

P/s: Arizona, Sweden or Germany? Hard choices but one is definite this year. Shall see through this within few weeks time.

Have a blast night, everyone!

Tudung Bawal

I've got this craze of searching 'tudung bawal asli' or simply said the
original voille from Kelantan. There are many online shops selling those
voilles but I'm not sure whether it is okay or not. I have been twice
fooled by the seller that claimed the voille is the original but it
wasn't! I bought one at Pasar Malam and indeed it is the original but it
is hard to go to pasar malam to buy your voille with 2 toddlers in tow,
you know what I mean. The last time I bought my voille was with my mom,
at that Pasar Malam Seri Putra, my mom took care of the children, their
dad brought them back to the car so that I can quickly choose my voille
to match a baju kurung that I was supposed to wear for a formal dinner
next day at Port Dickson. It turned out the voille is the original but
with the wrong color! Not matching at all. Luckily it was an outside
function, where the light was a bit dimmer (nearby the sea). So, no one
really notice I was wearting a mismatched voille. I should completely
redo my wardrobe. I bought several clothes with wrong design just
because the seller was so nice. My outfits were ages. I do hope one day
I have enough to spare and overhaul my wardrobe, and also my husband's.

Al-Fatihah

Yesterday for the first time after about 10 years when my grandfather died, I cried for someone who left us forever due to brain tumour. She was my senior that I never met at school or in real day-to-day business. But still, I am deeply sad when she was no longer with us. My friend, Ros has been constantly updating us with her condition and also my other seniors from her batch (Arwah was from SPM 1982 batch, I was from SPM 1995). What touched me so much is the fact that she was diagnosed witht the condition just about 2 months ago, when she started telling us via email her conditions and everyone kept eyes open for any updates on her sickness 9and also comments on the treatment that she could get). Brain tumour in the middle of your forehead, just imagine. She undergone surgery to remove the tumour but did not survive the ordeal. She was told by many as a very soft spoken, strong willed and caring women that has lots of friends to support her in one way or another. Losing everything in just a short time, made me think, if my time comes will I be ready to face the truth.. my children, can they cope with the changes.. my parents and immediate families, have I done enough to show my thankfulness to have them as my family.. I prayed that Arwah's children will be brave as their mom and live life to the fullest. It is a truly heartfelt situations being near to her for the last two months, thanks to the technologies and friends who are endlessly supporting each other to keep us updated.

Al-Fatihah.
