My Save the Earth project is a quick and easy gift idea.  Sometimes we get so busy, so quick and easy is always welcomed (I found my inspiration -HERE scroll down until you see the light blue can project).
I've used a clean empty food can, covered with cardstock that wraps all the way around the can, just measure the height and around the can plus about 1/2 inch for the cardstock to overlap.
I used my Martha Stewart score board to add score lines on the cardstock before wrapping around the can to give it some fun texture.
For the tag I pulled out my Mini gel pens that I use in my cricut machine and "drew" the work "THANKS" from the Lacy Labels cricut cartridge.
Then I cut the tag out using again the same Lacy Labels cartridge.  I added black brads to the tag then hot glued the lace (another recycled item) to the top of the cardstock, the glued the cardstock to the can.
I purchased my Mini gel pen holder from Amy Chomas
I then had fun adding some beautiful flowers from I am Roses.  Inside the can is some yummy trail mix tied up with a bow and another tiny I am Roses rose.

Harvest Blessings Fantabulous Cricut Blog Hop

Hi everyone, welcome to Robin's Creative Cottage! Today is such an exciting day and I'm so glad you're here for the Fantabulous Cricut Harvest Blessings Crawl... Fantabulous Cricut's version of a blog hop! Woo Hoo!!

Leaves are changing colors, there's a chill in the air.... yep... it's "Fall" and everyone at Fantabulous Cricut is giving thanks for our "Harvest Blessings"! FCCB design team is creating Fall projects that includes Brown, Orange and Red – and as always with Fantabulous Cricut challenges we use at least one Cricut machine cut image.

If you've come from visiting my wonderful new friend Peggy at Daily Grace Creations, you're in the right place! Woo Hoo! If you've just happened across my blog and would like to play along with our Fantabulous Cricut Crawl, please start HERE.

Remember to check out each DT member's blog for some awesome inspiration! There will be PRIZES along the way at some of our DT members' blogs, AND there will be a Grand Prize up for grabs at FCCB for one participant that submits a "Harvest Blessings" project at FCCB!

I love how my "Harvest Blessings" project turned out. This is how my inspiration started... I knew I wanted to use acorns, and leaves just go with acorns... then the idea of my family being a blessing came to mind... I remembered that the Lacy Labels cricut cartride had an image with the word "family"... and that's how my thought process began and I got creating!
Here are the details:
This card is long and can fit in a legal #10 envelope (4 1/8"x 9 1/2")
Lacy Labels cricut cartridge was used for the base of the card along with the family oval image. Using my gypsy (and keeping all the "lacy label" layers grouped) I stretched the images to measure 9.25" x 3.82
I welded two of the base images for a shape card, then cut the same image to layer on top using brown craft foam for a raised or 3-d look. The base is brown Bazzill cardstock.
Pattern paper is an old Stampin' Up designer paper pack.
Everyday Paper Dolls cricut cartridge was used for the oak leaf, cut at 3 sizes (real dial size) 1.5", 1.25", 1"
Create A Critter is where I found the acorn image, cut two sizes (real dial size) 1", .75".
All images were inked using Tim Holtz vintage photo ink, the leaves were crinkled after inking.
I used small pieces of brown craft foam to pop up the acorns, a few of the larger acorns I used a double layer of the craft foam for extra "lift".

Hello Card -using crochet flowers

Hello friends,
Today at Fantabulous Cricut we have a new daily feature "Sunday's Spotlight", where we will be "Spotlighting" a few of our wonderful sponsors, also we will be spotlighting the design team in the near future.

A few of the design team got to create with a few beautiful crochet items from Viola's Boutique, she has an esty store where she sells handmade crocheted flowers, hearts and other items.
I created using the "fuchsia crochet flowers and leaves" these flowers are quality work and such lovely colors. I also used the cricut cartridge Lacy Labels for the frame and butterfly.

The frame measures is the "All Boy" from Lacy Labels, the white is cut at 5 1/4" the green patterned paper at 5".

The butter fly "buttrfly" is cut at 1", I cut two and one of them I used my Cuttlebug embossing folder "Textile Textures" then rubbed a bit of pink ink over the embossed. I bent the wings up just a bit, then glued the center to to second butterfly.

The "Hello" was printed using my computer.

I would love you to visit Fantabulous Cricut and see the spotlight feature about Viola's Boutique, and see what the other design team members have created using viola's lovely crochet items. -HERE

National Smile Week -and a "SMILE" Challenge

This week happens to be "National Smile Week" and at Fantabulous Cricut we hope to give you "oodles of smiles" and encourage you to participate in the challenge.

Challenge #22
National “Smile” week:
Create a project and include the word “Smile”

I used my new cricut cartridge Lacy Labels, this is one of the "Walmart Lite" cartridges and of all the Lite cartridges this is my very favorite!! It gives me a ton of scallops, ovals and a variety of other shapes that I can use on any card, I know I'll use this cartridge often!

I decided to create an oval scallop shape card using the "Scallop 1" shape, I used design studio to weld the two scallops together. The letters for "smile" are from the Alphalicious cartridge I welded them together. The card size is approx. 5 1/4" x 4". "SMILE"
Come join us for the challenge and see all the wonderful "smile" cards that the DT has created -HERE.
