Day 5 Big Sentiments -New release

Hello all my friends, I hope you have followed along this week for the fabulous Stamp Release Party for My Craft Spot, I know the design team and I have really enjoyed sharing many inspiring projects with you as today, day 5, the inspiration continues.
We are showing a sneak peek of the new Big Sentiments stamp set designed by Kimberly.

I made three 3 1/2" square note cards for today's project using the new stamp set, I also included two of the new metal die sets Fancy Edgers, and the Small Bow.
The fancy edgers are so fun, there are 6 edges in that set, three various scallops, one grass shape, one notebook torn edge shape and the torn edge or deckle (which ever you would like to call it), this is the shape I used on my card below.
The Small Bow is such a fun die, I love how you can lay the tails horizontal or you can cut the tail in half and hang them down as I did in the photo below.
I wanted to add a simple look to the plain ivory background paper, so I headed to my sewing machine and removed the thread then sewed, I love the look of the simple poke holes with out thread. It was so fast and easy.

Thanks for joining me for day 5 of sneak peek, please join us tomorrow for the My Craft Spot blog hop where the design team will once again inspire you with more projects using one of the 5 new stamp sets and metal dies. Also each design team members (including myself) will be giving away one of the 5 stamp sets or metal dies, generously provided by Kimberly.

Favorite Technique -My Craft Spot Challenge

Hello everyone, each Monday there is a new challenge at My Craft Spot this week is challenge #111... that's a lot of challenges, and there is always something fun to challenge you and get your creative juices going.
This weeks challenge...
Favorite Technique
what is your favorite technique?  Share your project with us for this weeks challenge at My Craft Spot.

I had so much fun making this shaker card, I included two of my latest favorite techniques ... Coloring with Copic Markers, and Sewing using my sewing machine.
I used several supplies from My Craft Spot:
Stamp Sets: Jar Basics, Jar Full of Fall and Happy Thanksgiving
Metal Dies: Jar Basics, Ornate Labels
Crinkle Ribbon: Caribbean
Sequins (brand new product): Chocolate Sundae
All products can be found -HERE.
I'll have a video of how I made this card, just as soon as I edit it. :) ... coming soon...
I hand cut this banner, the phrase is from the Happy Thanksgiving stamp set, here you can see the machine zig-zag stitching too. I also added the Caribbean crinkle ribbon under the jar lid.
The jar was stamped using the Jar Basics stamp set, and cut out using the Jar Basics metal dies. My acorns are stamped from the Jar Full of Fall stamp set and colored using Copic markers. Inside the jar is the Chocolate Sundae Sequins.
The brown strip of cardstock that I used a border punch from Recollections.
I used a double layer of craft foam (fun foam) to make the shaker box, and a piece of clear acetate for the window, I cut it using my Jar Basics metal die.
This is the inside of my card, the phrase is again stamped from the Happy Thanksgiving stamp set, then added another colored acorn.

Remember to head over to My Craft Spot to see more 'Favorite Techniques' projects made by the My Craft Spot design team -HERE. We would love you to join us for this weeks challenge

Day 5 -Jar Full of Fall Stamp Set

Hello all my friends, I hope you have followed along this week for the fabulous Stamp Release Party for My Craft Spot, I know the design team and I have really enjoyed sharing many inspiring projects with you as today, day 5, the inspiration continues.
We are showing a sneak peek of the new Jar Full of Fall stamp set, that I designed coordinates with the Jar Basic stamp set

The new Jar Full of Fall has so many great Fall images you are going to love. I used the candy corn which has two sizes, as well and the word "October" the word "sweet" is from the Jar Basics stamp set. The bakers twine is Orange Licorice that I tied around the jar.
My banner that I stamped the words on was cut from the Lacy Banners metal die, I cut two banners one from white card stock and the other from black, then layered the black behind the white and added some fun zig zag stitching using my sewing machine.
The black border was punched with the EK Success Swirls border punch.
There are two fun sizes of candy corn in this stamp set, so I stamped two large corns directly on  the jar, then stamped two more large and four small on cardstock then cut them out by hand added them on the card using pop-up dots.
I used Copic markers to color the jar and candy corn. The inside edges of the jar: C1, the candy corn yellow: Y18, Y21 the orange area: YR04, YR07.
Tied the jar with Orange Licorice baker twine, and used thick foam tape to pop-up the candy jar lid.
Inside of the card, I added one more hand cut large candy corn.
Thanks for joining me for day 5 of my sneak peek, please join us tomorrow for the My Craft Spot blog hop where the design team will once again inspire you with more projects using one of the 5 new stamp sets or metal dies, also each design team members (including myself) will be giving away one of the 5 stamp sets or metal dies, generously provided by Kimberly.
All 5 of the stamp sets including the 2 metal dies will be available for purchase tomorrow at My Craft Spot.

Sew Fun -My Craft Spot Challenge Project

Hello friends,

It's Monday, a fabulous day for another challenge at My Craft Spot!
This weeks challenge:
Sew Fun
Hand or machine stitch on your project
Since I love sewing on my projects I just couldn't wait to create this card. I've had this card idea in my mind since I designed the Stampin' Around Summer stamp set, the other stamp set I used is Chunky Alphabet, as well as the Tiny Doilies and the Small Alphabet metal dies.
This fun flower shape is cut using my Silhouette Cameo the image if from Miss Kate Cuttables called "flowers set of 4" it can be found -HERE.
This is my fun idea for a personalized wedding card... use the Stampin' Around Summer stamp set for the "Mr. Mrs." and then and a personalized monogram letter (of the married couples last name) from the Chunky Alphabet stamp set . Love it!
I used the Tiny Doily metal dies that coordinate perfectly with all the Stampin' Around stamp sets.
I tied a double bow using the Spring Moss crinkle ribbon.
Ribbon, stamps and dies are all available at My Craft Spot in the shop -HERE.
I used the Martha Stewart border punch Daisy, along the bottom edge of the white cardstock, the green cardstock has been embossed using the Cindy Loo leaves Cuttlebug embossing folder.
The butterflies are from the Small Alphabet metal die set, not only does the die set come with an alphabet, but a few shapes as well. I added Recollection pearls on the butterflies and various place on the card. I also sponged all edges using my Tim Holtz Antique Linen ink (all the inking is done before glueing the card together).
I hope you enjoyed my card, and remember to head over to My Craft Spot to see more "Sew Fun" projects made by My Craft Spot's design team -HERE. We would love you to join us for this weeks challenge!

Hello Sunshine -Paper Bag Gift Pouch

It's a great day and another challenge for My Craft Spot!
This weeks challenge:
Wrap it Up -packaging, gift boxes bags

For my project I used the new Stampin' Around SummerSweet Sentiments #1 and #2 stamp sets, the new 4" Doily as well as the Tiny Doilies Metal Dies, all available from My Craft Spot.
I started with a brown paper bag, or lunch sack... which ever you call them. These are purchased from any grocery store. I cut the bottom off of the bag so it is more like a pouch, but I can still add a few goodies inside when I deliver them to friends.
My inspiration for these bags came from Inking Idaho -HERE
I cut my bag to be approx. 7 1/4" minus the bottom part of the bag (left side of photo), then folded up about a half inch (right side of photo), this is where I sewed the bottom of my bag, but I sewed my velum doily on first.
I decorated the out side of the bag using the 4" Doily metal die which was cut using cardstock velum, it's only attached to the bag by stitching on the left and by the scalloped circle that is glued over the large doily.
When I stitched the doily on the bag, I did not sew all the way through the entire bag, only the first edge flap, this way the bag can still open as a pouch, see photo below. Stitch the doily first, then the bottom of the bag.
Here is a close up of the phrase "Hello Sunshine" and sun image both from stamped using the Stampin' Around Summer stamp set. This set coordinates perfectly with the Tiny Doilies metal dies which is what I used.
For each bag I made a post card style insert, so I can add a little message to the back, then still insert a few goodies into the bag, I'm thinking a few homemade cookies would be yummy.

I used two sentiments on the cards, "You make life sweet! is from the Sweet Sentiments Set #2 stamp set, the "You make me smile" is from Sweet Sentiments #1 stamp set, both available from My Craft Spot.
Again using the Tiny Doilies metal die for the scalloped shapes. When I use any type of vellum I don't like to use glue because it always shows through (believe me I've tried several tapes and glues that are specifically made for vellum and I haven't found on I like), so my  scallop doily is attached with the aig zag sewing, and the glue that is behind the green banner.
I used sheer white ribbon for a pull tab, I attached the ribbon using the Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher stapler.
Often when I sew on cards I pull all the loose strings the the back side tape them down, then I layer that over another layer so you don't see the loose strings or the tape.  But this time since I sewed onto a "postcard" and pulled the strings to the back side as I normally would, I then placed a strip of patterned paper over the loose strings, wall-a looks much better.
So here is my time saving tip of the day, since I made 7 of this bag pouches, I needed to cut several images from the Tiny Doilies metal dies, so I placed a few dies on my Cuttlebug machine at the same time.
Then shifted the metal dies and cut again (after removing the first cut images of course).
That's it for to day, remember to head over to My Craft Spot to see more "Wrap-it Up" projects made by My Craft Spot's design team -HERE. We would love you to join us for this weeks challenge!

Day 5 My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party -Tiny Tags 3

Hello all my friends, I hope you have followed along this week for the fabulous Stamp Release Party for My Craft Spot, I know the design team and I have really enjoyed sharing so many inspiring projects with you, and today day 5 the inspiration continues.
We are showing a sneak peek of the new Tiny Tags 3 stamp set, designed by Kimberly, as well as a new metal die, the 4" Doily. I loved designing this doily, it's a beautiful doily with all it's intricate details.

The new Tiny Tags 3 stamp set has several tiny phrases for may different occasions, you'll definitely use this set over and over again.
For my card, I used two phrases from this set "Hello my friend" then on the inside of my card I used this fun phrase "Keep Calm and Craft On", I'm was thinking about one of my crafty friends when making this card.
The new Tiny Tags 3 is the third set in the Tiny Tags stamp set series, it coordinates perfectly with the Tiny Tags metal die set which is currently available.

My flower was made using several flat flowers from I am Roses, I crumpled them up then layered them on one another.  Behind the flower is Ivory Jute Twine from My Craft Spot and pearl sprays (if that is what  you call them).
The tags are from the Tiny Tags Metal dies, I just ran a straight stitch across all three tags using my sewing machine then added a little bling to all of the tags where the holes are, I love this fun look.
All pattened paper is from Simple Stories Vintage Bliss 6x6 paper pad.

Quick look at the Tiny Tags Metal Die set now available at My Craft Spot -HERE.

Day 2 My Craft Spot Stamp Release Party -Patterns Blocks

I am loving this stamp release party and hope you are to! Today is day 2 of the Stamp Release Party for My Craft Spot and we are giving you a sneak peek at the one more stamp set and two metal die sets.
The stamp set, titled "Patterns Blocks" and the two dies are "Tiny Banners & Toppers" and "Small Alphabet" which includes a small alphabet and several small shapes in that die set.
These are so fun and versatile you will have really enjoy creating with the stamp sets and metal dies.

Once again Kimberly has given me the opportunity to design this stamp set and the to metal die sets. Thanks Kimberly.

So are you all ready for Summer?  We've had several hot days... then the temperature dropped again... it's crazy it's hard to know how to dress, I just keep a sweater near by.
I made a fun Summer time card to share with you using the new Pattern Blocks stamp set, the the two new metal dies Tiny Banners & Toppers and Small Alphabet.

The Patterns Blocks stamp set is so fun! They can be stamped anywhere, each of the patterns are very petite, great for small images like our new Tiny Banner & Topper Dies.
I made a fun patterned paper look (which is behind the flip flops and the banners), after stamping with two of the patterns I sponged the edges with the same purple ink the sponged a bit of pink and green ink over the top. You'll see more creative ways to use these patterns from the design team. There are 12 Pattern Blocks in this stamp set.

The Small Alphabet metal die is all lower case letters, as well as ten small shapes, five of the same image, just one is large and one small. Like on my card I used the two sizes of butterflies. A a total of 36 dies in the Small Alphabet metal die set.
I love that colorful word "summer" below.
I used my sewing machine to add some fun stitching to the edge of my card.
The cute flip flops are cut using my Silhouette Cameo the image is from Miss Kate Cuttables.
These banners are so fun and versatile, there are six different shaped banners, each have a smaller layer to lay over the top of a larger banner (shown in my photo below), then there are six different toppers to use with the banners as well (I didn't use these on this card). A total of 18 dies in the Tiny Banners & Toppers metal die set.
I added a sparkly gem to the center of all my butterflies, and on the flip flops, as well as next to the word summer.
The banners are strung together using Natural Jute Twine available at My Craft Spot, in the "Strings & Things" section.
I used thick foam tape to pop the banners off the card, as well as popping up all the butterflies and the flip flops.

Thanks so much for visiting!

Thinking of You Butterfly Card

Hi everyone, I have another quick card share for you today, this is being featured over at My Craft Spot.
For my card I used the Inside & Out Set #2 stamp set, this is such a great versatile set for sentiments to add to the front of your card as well as the inside as I have done with this card.
The butterflies were cut using my Silhouette Cameo, the images are from Miss Kate Cuttables which can be found -HERE.
I hand cut a banner for the sentiment and added the phrase from the Inside & Out #2 Stamp Set, then attached the banner with a quick zig zag stitch using my sewing machine.
side view of my card
Inside view of my card using again one of the sentiments from the above mentioned stamp set.
