I'm going for a mix of fairy tale themed and FAIRY TALE ;)

1. A magical talking horse

(Heidi's thoughts: I'm not sure which I would pick since I love so many of his. But it's a grand impossibility to daydream about. Aschenputtel above would be a top contender for me.)

December SurLaLune Giveaway: What Fairy Tale Things Are On Your Holiday Wish List?

It's December! Time to give away a few books! So what better way to solicit giveaway entries than to ask you what fairy tale related gift you want this year for whatever December holiday(s) you celebrate?

Share your fairy tale related wish list for this year either through a comment to this blog post or through an email to me. Each wish list item, up to five items, will count as a giveaway entry.

I'll make posts of your wishlists to share with other readers here since at least I am always curious and several others have asked me to share so they might find new treasures, too. Entries will be accepted through Thursday, December 31st so you can also come back and share what you may have received, too!

You will get one giveaway entry for each item you share.

I will draw random winners from the entries in early January and giveaway to three winners a SurLaLune Fairy Tales library title of their choice. There 10 titles to choose from and this way you won't have to win a title you may already own. And, no, list price doesn't matter. So choose one of the bigger books if that is what you want!

For all of you who are listing The Original Folk and Fairy Tales of the Brothers Grimm: The Complete First Edition by Jack Zipes as their top fairy tale wish list item in the SurLaLune Fairy Tales Giveaway--and there are several of you!--there is a giveaway for 10 copies of the book offered by the Princeton University Press blog on Goodreads.

Mary McMyne's Fairy Tale Book Giveaway

March Giveaway: The Golden Age of Folk and Fairy Tales

I have a copy of The Golden Age of Folk and Fairy Tales: From the Brothers Grimm to Andrew Lang edited by Jack Zipes to giveaway at the end of this month. As we all know, I hate to just collect names and pick one for a giveaway. I like to ask for more. And these days I need help generating content for this blog. So two birds, one rock. Yay SurLaLune!

I finally decided on what you can do for a chance to enter to win the copy of the book. Inspired by the Golden Age title as well as March being Youth Art Month, I am asking you to share your favorite fairy tale illustration--it can be from the Golden Age of Illustration (which is what inspired the theme) or any other time.

Here's what you do:

Either reply to this post with your entry or email me with your submission. Your entry should include:

1) A link to the image of your favorite fairy tale illustration. No attached files, please. I am not going to download email attachments. Personal policy there.

2) Three (3!) sentences about why you like the illustration.

3) I will be sharing entries as posts on this blog so you can also share a link to your own blog if you are looking for some self-promotion opportunities. At least let me know how you would like to be identified in the post I will publish with your entry.

Submissions will be accepted through 11:59 PM PST, Monday, March 24, 2014. That gives you two weeks to submit.

I will announce the winner on Monday, March 31, 2014. International submissions are accepted. I'll ship internationally because I am nice that way. The book has been donated by the publisher, but I'll handle the shipping on my own.

Marvelous Transformations Giveaway: The Winner!
