Stampendous and Envirotex Resin Blog Hop

We hope you've enjoyed the inspiration this week as our team has been playing with the Resin Crafts Blog featuring EnviroTex Jewelry Resin from ETI and their brand new Jewelry Clay! We've had fun bringing you these terrific projects. Be sure to comment on all the blogs for the best chance to win these terrific products. Our prize package includes BOTH the clay and resin, plus a nice assortment of bezels from Nunn Designs, and, of course, some stamps and Essentials from Stampendous! One of the things we love best are the terrific videos that show you just what to expect from these products. Here's the EnviroTex Resin Video: [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whnsO3dsHOk] And this one shows you all the details on Jewelry Clay: [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c22EQ-ARn8E] There are also downloadable .pdf's on the Environmental Technologies site, and the directions that come in each package are extremely complete and very helpful. We're creating crazy around here with this too fun resin and clay!

For my project today I am pulling one out of the archives from last year.  Why?  1> because I really liked it! and 2> i won't whine but with end of the school year and lots more going on, well, you know, we procrastinators go belly up sometimes.

I used Halloween Sprite, Black Glass Glitter, and Trick or Treat Color Fragments in my Resin for this one along with a piece of Ranger Memory glass.  Halloween Sprite is now retired but can be found in many stores by searching HERE and I know that my local store Betty's has some still.

She was colored with my Spectrum Noir markers (PL3, PL2, PL1, Lv3, LV2, Lv1, OR3, OR2, TN5, IG7, IG5, IG3, IG1, FS9, FS4, DG3, CG3)

You have until Sunday night to comment on the blogs below to be in the running for our prize packages! Here's who made some new inspiration for you today:

Fun with Resin

This week the Stampendous gals are thrilled to get to play with Jewelry Resin and Epoxy Clay from EnviroTex!  Carmi from EnviroTex was kind enough to share lots of goodies with us last year and again this year :)

In fact I still had some leftover resin from last year, its in two separate bottles that you mix together so I was hoping it would stil activate and it sure did!  So now I have another whole batch for later this week!

For today's project I pulled out a jumbo bottle cap from my stash (I think its Maya Road).  I inked some cardstock with Tim Holtz Distress stains, then stamped Sewing Elements with Versafine ink and embossed it with Clear Detail EP.

Next I mixed my Resin and poured it in then added bits of Teal Color Fragments, Mint Color Fragments, Powder Blue Color Fragments and plus some Black Crushed Glass Glitter and tada!

Stampendous and Envirotex Blog Hop

Thanks for joining the Stampendous gals today for a fun hop! We've been enjoying the fun crafting potential of combining our fantastic stamp images with EnviroTex Jewelry Resin from Environmental Technologies. Carmi Cimiata of the Resin Crafts Blog has helped us learn so much about how this product works, what it can and cannot do. We're so appreciative of her and the folks at ETI who sent us all some resin to play with. {big round of applause!}

We've prepared some fantastic projects to inspire you today. We hope you'll run over to your local Michaels or other craft store and pick up some resin and some Stampendous stamps and get playing. If you make something fun, please take a picture and put it on our Facebook page! We'd love to see what you're doing! As you visit each blog, you'll be entered in our drawing for a great prize package when you leave a comment! If you don't tell us you were there by commenting, we can't include you in the drawing! We'll pick a winner from today's comments separate from the commenters throughout the week. Get hoppin!

For my project today I used a new set called Jumbo Snow that should be arriving in local stores any day now!  I started by stamping my background in various sizes of the snowflakes with Versamark ink (from Tsukineko)then heat embossing with Aged Marine Embossing Enamel (also new).

On a small metal edged tag (from my stash from years ago...I think they were from Making Memories) I stamped the large snowflake and heat embossed with the same ink and powder.

Next I poured some of the resin onto the tag, sprinkled on some Champagne Glass Glitter, Steel Blue Glass Glitter, and Pearlized Mica Fragments then topped that off with more resin.  After this dried totally I had to cut a small amount that overflowed from around the edges using my Ranger scissors.

Lastly I matched up the snowflake over the matching one on the cardstock base and glued it on with red line adhesive since its a bit heavy for an embellie.

OK, so here's the hop order, don't forget to comment along the way!

Halloween Sprite in Glittery Resin

Are you ready for a week of fun from Stampendous! and Envirotex?  You can catch posts at the Stampendous Blog and  Resin Crafts Blog all week!  EnviroTex Craft Resin is the store site for this fun sticky stuff, so go check it out!   You can float or embed all kinds of amazing stuff in the resin...ooh... Fran•táge, here we come!

For my project today I knew I wanted to float some of the new Trick or Treat Color Fragments (coming this month to a store near you!)  So, I needed a slightly bigger piece of media to work with than the bottle caps and bezels that I had.  I grabbed a couple of square Ranger Memory Glass Frames and went to work!

First I stamped my image, Halloween Sprite ( a new large stamp from Stampendous available soon) and cut out a small portion.  I also cut a chipboard square the same size.  After I colored her with my Spectrum Noir markers I applied a thin coat of Glossy Accents to seal the color and let that dry.  Then I adhered this to the chipboard then inserted it into the frame.

Next I added a small amount of my craft resin to the inside of the frame then dropped in bits of Trick or Treat Color Fragments and Black Glass glitter.  Finally I added more of the resin and let it set.  This stuff is like a kazillion coats of varnish, so pretty and shiny, but takes forever to dry so I did the whole project over my Craft mat so I could peel it off if any escaped the frame!  Added a few ribbon scrps and voila!
