Fall Fun with Dreamweaver Stencils and Art Glitter

Ready to be sparkly? This month is our annual collaboration between Dreamweaver Stencils and Art Glitter, and we promise double the glitter and double the fun! Follow the trail of bling all of this month on the Art Glitter blog, and the Dream It Up! blog. Play along with the monthly challenge of "Awesome in Autumn" and link your creations to the linkytool on the Dream It Up! Thursday posts for a chance to win some stupendous stencils and glamorous glitter! As if that wasn't cool enough, Art Glitter is offering a 20% discount this month if you use the code DW20!

I went with a Halloween color theme this week and incorporated the adorable Open Owl stencil with one of our brand new Dreamweaver dies!  My Owl was done with the double glitter technique using Art Glitter Crystal as well as colors from the Court Jester and Glitter Garden kits.

Here's a closer look at the cute little Halloween Owl:

He's perched on a branch that I created by cutting the Large Leafless Tree die and then snipping off most of the branches so I could turn it sideways to make a branch.  I also added a touch more glitter to the branches with my Quickie Glue pen.

My background paper as well as the sticker words are from Echo Park's Chillingsworth Manor Collection.  (Note I managed to add some glitter to the stickers as well!)

Check out this week's awesomeness which includes our super sparkly guest designer and previous Dream Team member...

Happy Tuesday!  Are you ready for a new sketch from Skiping Stones?  Well here it is in all its cuteness!  We hope you'll join us this week at the SSD blog for a chance to win!
For my card today I used one of the November Feature sets, Christmas Song.  Its such a lovely set, kinda music meets vintage.  I chose the tree from the set and heat embossed it with Vintage Olive embossing Tinsel from Stampendous.  Its was the perfect touch and perfect color match to my Echo Park papers that I picked: Christmas This & That.

Hope you enjoy!  Be sure to visit my teammates' blogs to see their creations as well and check back later today for a special post!!

Its Stampendous and May Arts week!

Its Collaboration time again at Stampendous and May Arts!  We have loved the collabs in the past and couldn't wait to do this again.  May Arts has the most beautiful yummy ribbon ever!  I was lucky enough to receive lots of fun textures and patterns and I chose Halloween of course, especially since today is October 1st!

I created a layout for today using a variety of Halloween stamps and ribbons.  My picture is of my youngest daughter and one of her friends when they did a bit of zombie makeup one day.

I started by spraying my background cardstock with Squeezed Orange, Pure Sunshine and Crushed Grape Dylusions ink sprays.  I then pulled out an od Tattered Angels stencil and sprayed Black Marble through that in random spots.

Along the edges of my page I stamped Tin Panel and embossed that with Aged Black Embossing Enamel.  I also added a portion of the Beware Gate in the bottom left also in Aged Black.

Next I cut some papers from the Chillingsworth Manor paper collection by Echo Park.  I edged one in Pewter Distress Stain from Tim Holtz.  The other I embossed the edge with Aged Black.  I also stamped Raven Background and embossed that with Clear Detail Black on a separate piece of cardstock.  I added Aged Black, Aged Spice Enamel and Trick or Treat Color Fragments to the edges using my Versamark pad and Heat gun.

My final touches were a few stickers from the EP paper pack and of course lots of fun ribbon!  I used a mesh black, large Orange and Black plaid, and satin black on black striped.  These were added with a touch of glue and then taped over to the back.

NOW I feel ready for a month of Halloween!  I hope you'll check back at the Stampendous blog each day for more inspiration and a list of the players for each day.  There are always fun prizes to be had!

Here's today's list of players:

Here's my take on the sketch using the adorable new Cheers! set.  I used part of the long border of drinks and paired that with one of the many sentiments in the set.

My papers are from echo Park's For the Record 2 Tailored collection and I colored my drinks to match using my Spectrum Noir markers.

SN Colors used:
CR6, CR5, CG3, CG2, DG3, DR5
IG2, IG1, GB1

I distressed all my papers with Tim Holtz Distress inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Worn Lipstick, and shabby Shutter.  Dies for main panel were Labels 4 & Labels 5 from Spellbinders.

No peeking...

I'm playing along with another The Cat's Pajamas month long challenge today.  This one was a technique challenge...to use Washi tape!   I pulled out my new little Peeking set and colored him with my Spectrum Noirs and did some paper piecing on the present and bow.

Here he is a bit closer in all his cuteness...

I'm loving the washi tape... I just ordered some from Bella Blvd that I couldn't resist including this cute dotty red which just happens to match the red dot pattern in the new Very Merry Christmas collection from Echo Park.

At the bottom of the card I added another long strip of the Washi tape and a green border die cut with TCP Inside Pinking CutUps die.  My sentiment is from the same Peeking set and green twill is by Creative Impressions.

The Cat's Pajamas: washi tape

Sweet 'n Sassy Rhubarb

Good morning Friday!  Its time for another Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenge!

BUT I hate to share my card today because the photo is AWFUL!!  My memory card reader that fits in my mac is totally busted so I had to do a pic on my phone last night and the lighting and clarity are terrible!  I am sooooo sorry!  I am off to buy a new one this afternoon after work!

This week the challenge is "Beary Special" and I pulled out Rhubarb's Ice Cream Cone.  (See, I'm still trying to beat this awful heat wave LOL)  I just love little Rhubarb in all shapes and styles and this one is no exception!  He's been colored with my Spectrum Noir markers:

EB4, TN5, TN3, TN2, TN1
BP7, BP5, BP3
GB7, GB4

My colors are based on the Echo Park Summer Days paper collection and I used some fun Core'dinations cardstock for this one!  I used Angel Orchid from the Vintage Collection for the mat and border.  On the border I cut it with a Tim Holtz Bracket die, then embossed a skinny strip and sanded it.  All other edges were sanded as well.  CS base is Mantis from the Core Essentials line.  (This has to be my favorite ever green cs!)

OK, want to know the deets on this week's challenge?

Use a bear image(s)/element(s) for your creation!

Just a few things to keep in mind as you play....

Please use digital images ONLY for the challenge.

Skipping Stones Design Blog Hop!

Welcome to Skipping Stones Design Sketch Challenge #115 and the release of Silly Cats 2!  If you just arrived from Shannan's blog then you are in the right place!  If you just happened by my blog then start at the beginning of the blog hop at Skipping Stones Design.

Oh my goodness, this set has the most unbelievably adorable sentiments!  I can't pick a fav, but for today I just had to use the "does this card make my butt look big?" one!  Snort!  I stuck pretty close to the sketch this time, and you can view the sketch at the bottom of my post if you want to play along with us!

My papers are all from A Walk in the Park by Echo Park.  Nesting Frame 3 die (behind the kitty) is from Lifestyle Crafts, as is the Nesting Scallops circle die.  My ribbon and button are both from Bo Bunny.

Here's a better look at this sassy little feline.  Is he cute or what?  That look is priceless and one I often get from all of my cats!  Below is the closeup of the ribbon treatment, tied off with some Tangerine twine.

And heres a peek from the side so you can see all the dimension going on.  I used Crafty Power Tape from 3L Scrapbook Adhesives for all the popped up pieces.  Its great cause I can cut a large piece for the large mat or a small bit for behind the kitty's tail.  ALSO, it comes in black or white!

Here's this week's sketch:

OK, so be sure to hop along and leave all the designers some love!  I am honored to be a guest this month at SSD along with Barb Turpin and sketch artist Kazan Clark!  Today's sketch (along with the rest of the sketches we are using this month were designed by Kazan)

Here's the hop order in case you get lost:

Other challenges I'm entering:
Crafts and Me: new image
