Mysteri quilt from July

Is FINISHED!
I ran out of green fabric for the binding - but got a piece from a quilt-buddy in Denmark - thanks to Internet and QuiltSkandinavia - so that's part of my excuse for having this one wait so long for quilting and binding.

And my daugther said I had to take a picture of the back as well - it is so pretty mam...

What am I working on now - spending most of the days on my coach?
First I am quilting my flowers - but I do not know what I will do in the flower-backgrounds





Then I am doing some stitcheries

Brown quilt - first block

Here is the first block for the brown quilt, ready to be "blanket-stitched" by hand. So to next question - do I have any brown thread - well found some, will sew the parts that I have matching thread for first - and then supply with missing colors.

Two different layouts

I had to play with my red 4-patch-blocks - and now I have trouble deciding how to put them together.

Typical me

Yesterday I decided to start a new quilt-a wall hanging for christmas. But what a pity - it's all in brown colors -and I dont have any fabrics that color - I think.
So I looked in my sewing rom - all I found was these fabrics



Remembered I have a storage in one of the bedrooms - this is what I found there - bougth in USA spring 2000


So I went down to my favorite quilt shop Quiltegården and picked up these


Continued to Jordbærstedet


And finished at R.Sy-Steen






Today I got of the buss close to Syskrinet - and surprise - I found four fabrics there too.

So now to the question - do I need 6 kilos (app 60 yards) of fabric for a quilt measuring 1sq meter (little bit more than 1 sq yard)
or - how many quilt do I have to make to get rid of all this ugly brown fabrics?

On the last minutes of saturday evening

I managed to finish these four purses from AnnAKa's pattern

All blocks together

Saturday 10 a.m

All blocks laid out - had to check if the colors goes well together.

Her er blokkene lagt utover - mange av dem er ikke sydd ferdige enda - måtte sjekke om de passa sammen i farvene.

One step further - have cutted all the sashing and made all the 4-patches. Have also started to join blocks - but since 4 of the blocks applique is not done yet, I cant come any further rigt now.
Og så har jeg kommet enda ett hakk videre - Har skåret opp gitterverk og plassert dette - mangler forstatt applikasjon på 4 blokker - så jeg kommer ikke lenger i sammensyingen nå.

So then it's time to do some more on another one - startet a few weeks ago. tell me - didn't I say I was done with red and cream for some time.... Well found a box full of 3" red and cream stripes - 16 blocks so far

Så da fortsatte jeg like godt på denne som bare plutselig dukka opp for ett par uker siden. 16 blokker så langt. Noen som har sett de røde bitene før? Skal det aldri ta slutt?

Finally the Garden Angel (from AnnAKa) is finished - I had a lot of trouble with the silk thread I used for the applique, so this one had to wait for a while. Well anyvay now it's finished.


First some pictures from my kitchen yesterday, got a friend over for sewing, so we spread all over the place.

Long time no see

I have had a break from the computer - but now I am back. In the meanwhile I have been sewing a lot of blocks - on my green quilt, and one the red/yellow one and on a new red one. Pictures have to come later.


I have been for a walk in the forest - meeting a really "dead" mushroom.

My apple-tree is ready to be harvested I think

And the blueberries are already made into Jam for pancakes



I also had a very small finish - a tiny wall-hanging for x-mas. Have you seen it before in my blog ? - yes - but in another color. It took me some days to get the binding on after I finished quilting - because I couldn't fint the rigth fabric. Of cause I found it the day after I had bougth a replacement. (Did some sorting in my scrap-basket while talking in the phone)
and a quilt that has been a pig for a looong time is finaly started (pig = project in grocery-bag)

On a day full of rain

It feels so good to stay inside playing with colors. This blocks are now ready to be joined

First I have to show the result from last Sundays walk in the forest ("Tyttebær" this time)
And the menu we had for dinner a few hour later - youngest daugther found a black-board and wantet to write it down.

Haven't been sewing much this week, only a few hexagons while watching tv.
Thursday I digged out my green blocks and joined them 4 and 4 , I now have 11 units like this





Yesterday I continued with my yellow-red quilt, and now have a lot of blocks in various stages.
