Yin Yang Audio - Resistance (2025)

After some releases more beat-driven and with more diversity in the moods, Mexican producer Yin Yang Audio is back, with Resistance, to a darker and more atmospheric techno. Good stuff.

Blush Response - Sprawl (2024)

I've been slightly disappointed by the music Blush Response (producer Joey Blush) released last year. So Sprawl is a good (semi) surprise. Still quality dark and industrial techno, but the most memorable part of the album is the couple of songs with vocals (from Marc Heal), showing that Blush Response could totally, with equal success, turn into an industrial metal band (reminding a bit NIN or Author & Punisher). Good stuff.

Ying Yang Audio - Inner Nature (EP 2023)

This Inner Nature EP isn't Ying Yang Audio latest release, but I prefer this one over the Sustained Clarity album released this one, which is more ambient and minimalistic, while on Inner Nature the mix of industrial techno and dark ambient feels a bit darker and heavier. Good stuff.

SSHGRR - st (2023)

Looking for some new industrial/dark techno? Or curious about what the hell industrial/dark techno could be? SSHGRR self-titled release (on the Spanish Banshee Records label) will be a good pick. 3 tracks plus 2 good remixes, a healthy dose of quality techno of the heavy, menacing and noisy kind.

Good stuff!

Aelk Minsur - Ground Redux (2023)

I don't know much about American producer Aelk Minsur, but I like his subtle dark ambient / industrial tech / rhythmic noise music, on display in his latest album Gound Redux. Good stuff.

JK Flesh - New Religions Old Rules (2022)

Justin K Broderick isn't just Godflesh and Jesu (well, that already would be a lot... but...) his also an active producer in industrial techno music. New Religions Old Rules is his foruth release of the yaer as JK Flesh and my favorite one with the split with Gnod (reviewed that one HERE). Abrasive and dark pulsating indus tech. Recommended stuff.

Weever - Jour de Lamentation (EP 2021)

Released last year by French producer Weever on his label Vives, this EP called Jour de Lamentation is an excellent piece of industrial techno, with dark ambient / death industrial atmosphere complementing the techno beats and industrial sound. Fine for headphone listening, probably even better in a live / warehouse / abandonned factory context (especially the powerful final track). Recommended !

Ancient Methods - The Jericho Records (2018)

Ancient Methods (from Berlin) is one of the most reliable dealer of industrial techno. The Jericho Records is their latest LP (released in 2018), and an immersive listening experience, the beat-driven hard-hitting element going hand in hand with the dark futuristic atmosphere. And featurings like producers Orphx, Regis and Prurient and vocalist King Dude cannot harm for sure. Excellent stuff, and a good entry point if you want to discover industrial techno.

JK Flesh vs Gnod (EP 2021)

JK Flesh is the name Justin Broadrick use for his techno releases, Gnod is a English psych/noise rock band. Last year they joined fores for a four track EP (called JK Flesh vs Gnod) where they both cover two tracks from the other. So we get two JK Flesh tracks being given a psych/kraut treatment and two Gnod traks being given an industrial treatment, resulting in something as good as what they do on their own, but different, making an interesting and enjoyable release.

Torn Relics - Burning Injustice (2021)

Torn Relics have a new album out, this time released by the excellent label Instruments of Discipline, a good match. The album's called Burning Injustice. First half of the album is in line with their previous work (I reviewed HERE their previous album), mostly some classy dark ambient with violin and percussions and a few subtle techno beats. Then they bring some new elements, the most spectacular being the synthwave with vocals track "Disguise", an excellent song and a good surprise, then for the second half of the album  their sound is getting harder going in an industrial techno direction, good as well, done with their usual sophistication and good taste. So it's a successful second album (and third release), keeping strong their basics while adding new elements to make their music even more interesting. Recommended stuff.

RNXRX - Impreciso (2021)

Impreciso is the first album (after a few shorter releases, good as well) from producer RNXRX. It sounds modern, but blends different kinds of more old school elements : industrial techno but also EBM and jungle. There is a wide diversity in the songs, with cinematic/atmospheric parts and more hard hitting ones. It should please people into any kinds of dark industrial/electronic music. Quality stuff.

Yinn - Concord Obsolete (2020)

Don't know much about Yinn, probably coming from Latin America since it's released by Columbian labels (this one by Healed Wounds, sometimes Mephyst). But actually the most important thing to know is that Concord Obsolete is 3 tracks of efficient and finely crafted dark and hardcore techno : good beats over subtle and good synths/sounds for the dark atmosphere.

Panic Scenery - Eldritch Abomination (2020)

Second album from Belgian producer Panic Scenery (Kevin Barbier) Eldritch Abomination (on the label Spirit of Progress) is a good piece of horrific themed hardcore techno, twelve tracks (plus three remixes) of thick dark ambient / industrial atmospheres with heavy hardcore beats over it. Good stuff.

Dark Machine Nation - Hail of Iron (2020)

Therion Major, the man doing Dark Machine Nation describe his music as "intense vocal Power Noise/Industrial Hardcore" and as you can guess there's elements of industrial techno and power electronics, but also industrial metal (some parts reminds Ministry, when it was good). And it is indeed intense. Hail of Iron is a one-hour mix with recent and older tracks. It's one of my favourite industrial/electronic release this year. Powerful stuff.

JK Flesh - Depersonalization (2020)

I usually don't review collections of old songs. But : 1) This is JK Flesh, the industrial techno project of JK Broadrick (and released by Hospital Productions) 2 / This is so good. So Depersonalization is eight tracks of the finest industrial techno with a bass music touch.
Recommended stuff.

Modular Phaze - Hidden Tentacles of God (2019)

Modular Phaze is a very prolific Colombian techno producer (and founder of the Mephyst label). He already has like four releases this year but I'm choosing to review last year's album Hidden Tentacles of God, probably my favourite of his recent releases. Not his most subtle stuff, but I like the power it evokes. Heavy techno beats and fast snares, a bit of synth for the atmosphere and it makes a high quality hard hitting rave style dark techno.

Torn Relics - Abolish the Dogma (2020)

Torn Relics is a duo making industrial music, Romek Boyer is doing the beats while Aimee Mullen is playing violin and Bodhan and also sometimes singing. Abolish the Dogma, their second album, is nicely sophisticated and mixing elements from various styles, industrial techno, dub techno, dark ambient and even doom metal. They are good at creating dark and mysterious atmospheres.

The Tunnel - The Use of One's Power (2019)

Simple but effective techno from Tunnel, the four tracks of The Use of One's Power goes from warehouse rave style hardcore techno bangers to more quiet anguished and futuristic atmosphere's. Good stuff.

Hakai - No Flesh Shall Be Spared (2020)

I was about to review one of the newest Blush Response albums (maybe will do that later, it's really good stuff) when I saw he had this new release, as Hakai, in collaboration with Jagoda Nagel (whom I don't know). And it's an impressive release, more straightforward and less complex than the usual Blush Response sound, but excellent as well and massively effective and addictive. No Flesh Shall Be Spared is four tracks of industrial & hardcore techno with an underground rave vibe, hard hitting and heavy beats with a darkly pulsating atmosphere. No fillers, all bangers. Recommended!

Retrograde Youth - Mass Asphyxia (2020)

Mass Asphyxia is the first album (after some EP's) from Retrograde Youth. It's mostly synth based, combined with EBM / industrial tech beats, creating a dark futuristic atmosphere through and through. Good stuff.
