15mm Sherman & Cromwell ARVs

Made some progress at home, have now a fully functioning airbrush station in the house, so no more extended periods with the spiders in the shed. This should enable more effective use of available time, so some of the backlogs should reduce, anyway.....

Today, two more S&S Model conversion sets, Sherman and Cromwell armoured recovery vehicles (ARV). These are extremely usefull add-ons for the PSC plastics. These have been built "vanilla" as supplied, no extra bells and whistles from me this time.

As always, full set of pictures up on my flickr.

Tinkering with ---- Heer46 Coelian turret & PSC Panther

Interesting new project on the horizon, some Paper Panzers/ 1946 in 15mm. In preparation I thought I'd dig out a Heer46 Coelian turret I had waiting around and marry it with a PSC Hull.

With the '46 stuff I get some latitude both in build and paint so I did the following mods for starters:

a) Re-cut turret ring to accept the Coelian turret
b) Drilled out the commands hatch
c) Added turret and glassis plate grab rails ( some precedence for this I have seen these as a field mod on a bergepanther
d) Added two spare barrels on the engine deck.

Post Note: I'm really, really, impressed with the quality of the PSC kits, outstanding and excellent post service as well. I have some M5 halftracks which I will convert in IDF variants for Yom Kippur and Shermans and Stuarts for a Normandy project. I whole-heartedly recommend them 100%

PSC Shermans - Little Beauties

Following on from my earlier post, here is the final results of the PSC Sherman up detailing.

I am disappointed with my pictures as they don't show the details that well, all have light protectors and extra detailing on the stowage, oh well..... Figures are a mix of Peter Pig and Skytrex ( before the 50% price hike!) and hybrids of the both. The recovery is Skytrex with mods.

and a reminder of their humble beginnings
