On September 30, 1988 the Cleveland channel WJW-TV8 aired 25 Years of Friday Nights , a look back on all the horror hosts that aired on the channel, including Ghoulardi, Big Chuck, Hoolihan, and, John Rinaldi from Hoolihan and Big Chuck Show and Big Chuck and Lil' John Show . One of the popular segments on Ghoulardi's show was when he showed what was sent to him by the fans. Sometimes he would read their letters or blow up an object they sent in with firecrackers. On May 22, 1993, Chuck Schodowski and John Rinaldi turned their Big Chuck and Lil' John Show into Ghoulardi Night for the second time and provided a look back at Ghoulardi's time as a host. On October 27, 2009, at 9:00 PM, Cleveland's Western Reserve Public Television will show the feature length documentary Turn Blue: The Short Life of Ghoulardi . The movie tells the full story of Ghoulardi and his creator Ernie Anderson. Watch a clip of the film here:

Ernie Anderson's last appearance on screen as Ghoulardi occurred on Oct. 12, 1991 on Joe Bob's Drive-In Theater . Joe Bob Briggs also interviewed Ernie after he did his segment. Watch the appearance here:

The November 21, 1992 edition of the Big Chuck and Lil' John Show was a special Ghoulardi Night , where they celebrated Ghoulardi with classic clips and an interview with Ernie Anderson. American Scary , the horror host documentary out now on DVD features profiles of many of the earliest and best loved horror hosts. The horror host documentary American Scary comes to DVD on February 17, 2009. The documentary is a great overview of the horror host genre and provides profiles of many of the original hosts like Zacherley, Svengoolie, Ghoulardi, and Vampira. Memories of the hosts are provided by fans which include some celebrities and modern hosts as well as the hosts themselves. Highlighting the documentary are many clips from different hosts shows and some footage of a convention where many of the hosts appeared. The information they provide enlightens the viewer in the origins of horror hosting in general and the hosts' place in television and cultural history. What comes across strongest is the impact hosts had on peoples lives and the influence on them that continues today. There are many bonus features on the DVD. The book Ghoulardi Inside Cleveland TV's Wildest Ride by Tom Feran and R. D. Heldenfels delves into the life of Ernie Anderson, better known as Cleveland, Ohio's most famous horror host Ghoulardi. Anderson's life examined from his childhood until his death with the bulk of the text revolving around his years developing and becoming Ghoulardi. The authors give a rounded history of what was going on in Cleveland at the time and puts Ghoulardi's rise to fame and infamy in perspective. Filled with anecdotes of what went on behind the scenes, as well as in front of the camera, you feel as though you were there during that period and makes the Papa Oom Mow Mow song play in your head as you read.
