Toyo Frame CX Bike

Beautiful Toyo Frame cyclocross bike shot at last month's KNSCX race at Biwako...

Very nice Sugino/Rotor combo at the cranks...

The non-drive side...

It's hard to explain how difficult it can be shooting bikes at cross races. Fair enough it's not exactly rocket science but often it's very early in the morning, usually freezing cold, the bikes are positioned in a way that makes photographing them awkward. And then certain people just have to fuck around...

Follow the Toyo Frame Instagram for more of this kind of thing.

Junya's Salsa Chili Con Crosso

A few shots of one of the most colourful bikes on the Kansai CX circuit, Junya's very custom Salsa Cycles "Chili Con Crosso"...

A Kore/Chris King/Enve steering set up...

With what look like Woodchipper bars and Gevenalle shifter/levers combo making up the cockpit...

Paul taking care of the stopping...

A Fulcrum wheel up front running a Panaracer Fire Cross 45c...

A bright Goodsmile Racing saddle sits atop a Thomson pin...

A really cool mix of parts makes this one of our favorite bikes on the circuit. If you see Junya out at the races be sure to give him a shout of encouragement.

There's a shitload more photos from last Sunday's race that will be posted here soon.

A Bicycle Journey

Our good friend Adam Bell recently sent us some photos of a restoration project he had been working on. A vintage Motobecane that definitely needed some love. The bike arrived to Adam in this state...

A few days of magic in Adam's kitchen/workshop...

And she was up and running...

Adam sent through some very nice detailed photos of the finished bike...

So what the hell does this have to do with Japan? Well after all his hard work Adam then sold the bike onto his friend Kitayama-san who lives up in Nagahama, Shiga prefecture and helps organise a local Tweed Picnic cycling event. He sent Adam some photos of the bike in it's new home...

A big thank you to Adam for sharing these photos and a little reminder that you can still buy Adam's superb Bicycle Dictionary and stunning new poster from Circles in Japan and many other good bike & book stores worldwide.
