Blue Moon Aquans

With so many ongoing projects I needed one that was just do and finish, so my pack of Blue Moon Manufacturing Aquans finally go some paint. These are probably my favourite sculpts of the Blue Moon 15mm Sci-Fi range and it's good to get them into a playable state.

Little High Elves

Following on from filling the lack of 15mm Goblin miniatures space in my collection I went to do the same for my High Elves

Little Goblins

A quick and fun bit of painting - the Ral Partha\Demonworld\Blighthaven pack of 15mm "Goblin Rabble". A bit smaller than the usual Demonworld sculpts, as you would expect, but very characterful indeed.

I experimented with the usually overly strong GW "Orc flesh" Contrast paint by mixing it with Contrast medium (after a light tone wash). The weakened contrast paint was excellent and I'll be trying it again with some of the other super-saturated colours in the future.

The Yanks Are Coming!

Although I never posted my completed 15mm WWII British troops last year I'm now finally got round to some US troops.

Having recently purchased Two hour Waragmaes\ Rebel Minis "5150 Company Commander - Total War" I found myself in need of a second 15mm army.

15mm Dungeon Inhabitants

I've been thinking about re-starting (after one adventure) my dungeon delving, but in 15mm this time. I needed a few more figures painted though so have been putting paint brush to (small) metal & resin to populate the dank hallways.

More Sci-FI Citizens

A trio of extra characters. On the left is a figure from the Stargrave sprues. The head had reminded me of Duke Nukem so I tried my best to copy the style. A bit small alongside to the more heroic JD figures but fine.

The other two figures are from the Judge Dredd Ganger Heroes box set, with a big thug and a heavy gunner. Excellently themed sculpts as ever.

And as an extra 2 dogs from the 15mm Alternative armies not Judge set.

MC1 Population Explosion

It may have been more than a couple of months since the last post but there has been some painting at least going on in the background. This batch are all for Mega City One (amongst others)

First up are some Fatties, bought from an Etsy store (sculpted by Papsikels). The set has 11 figures in it, 7 all wearing these jumpsuits and 4 who are dressed as clowns. These last 4 still need to be coloured, but the main gang is done. The colour scheme is a vague nod to the outfit worn by Arnie in "The Running Man". A great addition to flesh out the Fatties gang, which lacks numbers of different sculpts.

The First Of Many...

Painted 15mm British Tommy

...Or at least a few. A Battleground British Tommy, my first test 15mm WWII Allied figure.

15mm Armour

A quick wee project. In my 15mm stash I discovered two vehicles - an APC and an armoured car (?) from an unknown manufacturer (I'd picked then up in a job lot somewhere). Anyway, a nice wee diversion.

15mm Fantasy Adventurers - part 1

Sitting alongside my paint area I've had a few Alternative Armies 15mm adventurers. They've not been concentrated on until near completion, but whilst I've been waiting for paint to dry on the main projects I've been dabbing spare paint onto them to try and bring them forward. Well it must have worked as they are finished!

Now some of Alternative Armies sculpts have aged better than others, but what I really like about these guys is that hey are actual adventurer figures, with backpacks, extra weapons and gubbins on their backs just like they should be in the rpg world.

And yes I know the figure on the far right is actually a Demon World Elf....

15mm Resin Fantasy Buildings

I've managed to finish painting my small collection of 15mm Fantasy buildings, so thought I'd put up a few set up pictures!

DemonWorld Skeleton Warband

Not the most complicated paint scheme in the world, but any finished warband is worth celebrating!

Ral Partha Europe Demonworld\Blighthaven Skeleton Warband for the main part. I've given them a masked Necromantic leader from the Necromantic Southern Death Cult pack. He's in tatters as by the OLD Warhammer Fantasy RPG describes Necromancers as hiding away to practice their art and becoming affected by their studies. So the mask to hide his disfigurements is perfect.

The bone throne he commands them from is 3D printed at 60% scale and designed by Heroes Hoard ( https://www.heroshoard.com/ )

A Sense of Dredd

It's all Dredd at the moment (or at least a large percentage is). I'm slowly but steadily painting up my Judge Dredd Starter Set (10% off here ;) )  from Warlord games. A thread on the Facebookk Judge Dredd page has started m on another project though - 15mm Judges.

Barbarian Shock Troops

My prototype Barbarian Shock force is finally all painted up (actually a few weeks ago but I forgot to post it up!!) All Skyclad and screaming (with the aid of burning hogs) - enough to send the wind up the hardest of foes. All Xyston models.

This is one of my prototype fantasy warbands, created from the Xyston catalogue. It's a project thats been on the backburner for quite a while now but I'm looking to get running this year for 15mm Skirmish Supplies (with the kind offered help of those friendly folk up at Scotia Grendel). There will be a few fantasy themed warbands formulated from Jungle based to desert and mountain habits (or at least thats the plan).

Additional Chaos Dwarves and more

Two more to add to the Chaos Warband. Both from Ral Partha again. Not really any notes to make about them other than they were yet again fun to paint. (Shame I forgot to brush off some loose flock before taking this picture!)

Also, as before, I painted up a single 15mm adventuring Knight. The thought originally was that he was to be clad in the same coloured armour as the two 28mm Dwarves, but once I started painting him I realised that we wasn't entirely clad in armour. In the end he looks like he's picked up pieces of armour as he's managed to afford them - very much an RPG character.

And finally a quicky to bump up the monthly painting total. A stretch goal from a Ral Partha Kick Starter (but available online) is the animated broom - even if my wife does say it looks like the Peperami guy in a hoola skirt! Will no doubt appear in a Frostgrave game as a construct.

15mm Walls

Not the most exciting subject matter, but I thought I'd show my painting of TT Combat's 15mm mdf walls. Pretty solid with an easy paint job. The only extra might be a light spray of a textured spray paint to avoid the "long and flat" mdf  surface.

Height wise they are well set for figures shooting over. They are obviously pretty durable being mdf as well!
