Baby Shower and Little Weave's nursery dilemma

Last week ended up being quite an eventful week! My Grandma was here from Ohio, Amber and Kristen threw me an incredible baby shower and I officially ruined my poor little one's nursery! (For now anyway!) Cute Kristen and I! 20 and 32 weeks... both baby boys!!
My belly looks like a cone!

My wonderful Oma! We decided to have the shower a little early so she could be here for it. I'm so glad we did! She made the most delicious dips and treats and was so much fun to just hang around with! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful grandma. A girl really couldn't ask for a more amazing grandma to share such wonderful times with!

Bird's the Word!! What an amazing sis! She drove all the way down from Provo just for the night to be at my shower! I am so lucky to have such an awesome sister! I can't wait for her kiddies to join the fam someday!

The lovely Melo ladies! Katie, Aydia, and Elle Melo were so nice to come party with us! I am so lucky to have the Melo's in my ward and my little bro is super lucky to have Katie's parents as his mission presidents in Korea! What a small world it is!

Amber was so nice to let us all invade her house!

Love these girls!

Kay Lynn and Amber Harper. Kay Lynn and I work together at the bank. She is one of my very favorite people!

All in all, my shower was the best! Thank you so much to Amber and Kristen for working so hard to put everything together! I am so blessed to have such wonderful friends that are willing to do such a nice thing for me! And... thank you so much to everyone that came to support me and little Weave! I am amazed everyday at how kind and generous people are and am so thankful to have so many wonderful people to share this new experience with!

The Nursery Dilemma
So... a few weeks ago I decided it was time to paint the baby's room. Feeling confident in my color choice, I waltzed down to Kwall and had them match the fabric swatch that I had taken from the bedding. After a brief little discussion, Chris and I had decided to paint the room a dark blue color to match the blue in the bedding. Easy enough, right?? Wrong!! After getting the paint home and slapping a little on the wall, I quickly realized that the fabric I had was quite deceiving. Outside of the room, it looks really green, which is how the paint looked, however; in the room the fabric looks completely blue and really nasty against my first paint choice. So, back to Kwall I ran to try something new. Once again, easier said than done. After about five trips back to Kwall I realized that I had a lose, lose situation on my hands and way too many gallons of paint so the only thing left to do was to try a whole wall with what I had and hope that it looked better than the little blob! Much to my suprise and delight, I actually liked the paint on the one wall and after much debate, I gave Chris the go ahead to paint the entire room. Oh, what was I thinking?!?! One wall of okay turned into a whole room of not so good! The color is way too teal and doesn't match but, what's done is done, so little Weave is just going to have to love his teal room and if any of you ever come to my house and happen to peak into the nursery, just pretend that it's really blue!
Of course Tobie and Reggie had to help dad paint! They were right under foot all day!

My babe was such a sweetheart to paint for me! When I told him I hated the color, he was a little bummed, but I think we'll be able to work with it once it's done and all the other things are in the room. Hopefully anyway!

Woo Hoo!!

I finally have my crib, stroller, and car seat! I ordered my crib a while ago and was just able to pick it up this weekend. It was so fun to finally get it home and try it out with the bedding that my SUPER STAR mom made this past week. It looks awesome! I can't wait to paint and put everything else together in the room.

As for my stroller and car seat... I found a sweet deal on a car seat from a guy in Salt Lake and just happened to catch a 50% off sale at USA Baby when we went to pick up my crib so I grabbed the matching stroller for way less than it normally is! Chris gave me a budget for the baby stuff when I found out I was pregnant and is now trying to renegotiate the number because I've been able to find such good deals! Boys really don't get it, do they?! You can't go back on your word when it comes to baby budgets!

So... now that most of the big stuff is out of the way, I can relax! Only nine weeks to go!

Happy Birthday to the sexiest man alive!!

26 years ago today, Christopher Rhys Weaver was born and I have been lucky enough to be able to spend ten of those years with him! It's hard to believe that we are this old already, but there is no one else that I would rather grow old with! I know I'm probably a bit biased, but let's be honest, I really do have the best man in the world and I love him more than anything! So, today, on this beautiful November 11th, I just want to wish my sweet love the happiest birthday ever. My life is blessed every day because I get to spend it with him!

3 Years

* This is a little long and personal, but I've never taken the time to write down some of my feelings about this and feel like now is as good of a time as ever and seeing as how I don't keep a journal, I figured this was the next best thing.

This year, as I make my way through this last week of October, I can't help but feel extremely grateful for where I am today. Three years ago this week, Chris and my mom accompanied me to my very first Chemotherapy treatment. It's hard to believe that it has already been three years because I remember that day so vividly. I think we all do! That first day of chemo marked the beginning of a very long seven months but was also the start of one of the most amazing learning experiences I have had in my short 25 years of life. To have the opportunity to struggle side by side with your spouse, even for a short time is something that I feel every couple needs to experience. I know it may sound strange that I feel that way, but I can honestly say that I needed to go through those things with Chris. While we were dating and when we first got married I always knew that I loved him more than anything, but my love for him now is greater than I ever could have imagined. I know that Heavenly Father has answered my prayers in more ways than I can understand at this point in my life and I am so grateful to have the chance to look back and reflect on those things.
These pictures were taken by the amazing Nick and Signe Adams. They are truly a wonderful couple who have an incredible gift for catching the most beautiful moments in life. Nick and Signe have captured moments in my life that are most precious to me and have provided me with images that I will cherish forever. To me, this picture truly explains it all. When I look at it, I am flooded with all of the emotions that I have felt over the last three years. While I was having treatments, I, for some reason decided that I didn't want to see myself looking sickly, so I refused to look at myself in the mirror without my wig on and I definitely did not let anyone take random pictures of me! It was kind of weird, I know, but it's just what I did. When I saw these pictures for the first time, I was sweetly surprised by how they made me feel. These are the only pictures I have with my bald head and for some reason, I wasn't in shock at all at seeing myself this way. It almost seemed natural to me. I can remember crying, but only because I was amazed at how beautiful Nick and Signe had made me feel. I love these pictures and will be forever grateful for the opportunity to be captured this way.
So this year, in addition to being incredibly grateful for my health, I am most especially grateful to be trading my round bald head for a round bald belly! Heavenly Father has blessed us with the most precious miracle and I am so thankful to have been given the opportunity to be a mother to a sweet little son!

The first four years!

It's hard to believe that I have been the wife of the most wonderful man for four years already! Although Chris and I have been through more in the last four years than most couples our age, I can honestly say that the road we have traveled together has been amazing. I consider myself lucky every day to wake up next to my sweet love with the knowledge that he will stand by my side through the thickest and thinnest of life's challenges! I have been so greatly blessed and can truly say that my husband makes my world a wonderful place!

25 Weeks and a whooping 19 pounds!!

25 Weeks
When I went to my Dr. appointment last week, I had a feeling that I had gained a bunch of weight, but I wasn't exactly planning on seven pounds in four weeks! Ahh!! What can ya do though?!? Little Weave just can't seem to get enough of Arby's Beef and Cheddars, peanut butter and bananas, macaroni and cheese, and Apple Jacks cereal!

Quilts and Bedding

I just wanted to post really quickly about a few random things. The first item of business is my need to brag about my mom. My mom is the best! I know every girl has the best mom in the whole world, but my mom definitely takes the cake! She has been my saving grace for most of my life and never fails to amaze me! One of the best parts about being pregnant has been sharing it with my mom. Before I even found out I was pregnant, I used to think up ways to tell her when I was because I just knew how excited she would be. And... when the time came, she did not disappoint! The moment she realized what was happening, was a brief moment in my life that I will never forget! I have had so much fun shopping and planning for this little guy and none of it would have been as fun with out my mom! This picture below is just one of the many blankets that she has made for her first grand baby. The picture really does not do it justice because it is absolutely adorable, but it's all I have. I can't wait to wrap little weave up in it when he's a little older and tell him just how much his grammy loves him!

Next item of business... bedding fabric. Once again, mom to the rescue with this one! I started looking at fabric for the crib bedding awhile back and was convinced that I wasn't going to find anything that I liked here in ol' STG, but it actually only took one trip to JoAnns with my mom and we had it all picked out! Again, the picture is a little off, but that's the gist of it. I hope it turns out cute! I would like to say that I will be doing the majority of the work for this project, but let's be honest, I can't sew a straight line to save my life! I will most likely be supervising while my poor mom slaves away! Maybe someday I'll get the hang of sewing!

The past few weeks!

These last few weeks have been relatively uneventful. We have a few new developments, but for the most part, life has carried on as usual. Everything is still going as planned with little weave. He's getting big in there and has been moving around like crazy for the past month or so. I love it! I used to think I would feel like there was an alien in there when I started to feel him move, but I definitely don't! It's my favorite thing! Chris loves it too! He obviously can't feel him as often as I do because he's not right with me all the time, but he loves to lay on our bed and wait for him to hop around! Being pregnant has been a really neat experience so far!

In other baby news... I have finally decided to go ahead and buy a dang crib! I have been stressing over the stupid thing for months now and can't take it anymore, I had to make a decision. The crib I am going with isn't what I had originally envisioned for my nursery, but I really do like it and I think it will end up being perfect. My mom and I are going to tackle the bedding as soon as the crib comes so hopefully it's done before the baby arrives! Like I said, it's a little more contemporary than what I pictured at first, but Chris loves it and I think it will go great with the fabric I have.

Oh... for anyone that knows my sis Bird, you'll be happy to know that she finally got her mission call! She's been waiting for almost a month for it come and lo and behold, it came on Saturday! She has been called to the Fort Worth Texas Mission! I can't believe it!! She is scheduled to leave on January 28th. She's still a little up in the air about it due to a new love interest, but we're thrilled for her and will be happy no matter what she decides to do!

And last, but certainly not least, my lover boy has started a new job! Out of the blue, a few weeks ago, his dad called with news of an awesome opportunity that had come up within the Sunroc family. Sunroc has instituted a new insulation division that works with homeowners that need to re-insulate their homes to improve their energy efficiency. Sunroc provides the insulation that improves the efficiency level of the homes and in turn, Questar and Rocky Mountain Power offer rebates back to the homeowners for doing it. In most cases, the rebates cover close to 80% of the cost, making it super affordable for the homeowner up front, not to mention the monthly savings in their utility bills. The schedule and the benefits are going to be awesome for us but I am almost more excited about having our house re-insulated! I know I'm a freak, but I hate nothing more than paying our utility bills every month knowing that they are only going to get more expensive! AHHH!! So, all in all, this new opportunity has really been a blessing! It's still brand new, but we're thinking it's going to be great!

Well, that's about it for now. Life is good! My belly is big, my boys are cute as ever, my husband is happy.. what more could I ask for!

Little Weave is bulking up in there!

So... it's official! My pants DO NOT fit! I was well aware that out growing clothes was definitely part of the pregnancy but I have to admit that I was a bit shocked the other day when I tried to pull on my favorite jeans, only to realize that they weren't fitting over my legs!! AHHH!! Chubby legs and muffin tops were not part of the plan! I guess I just didn't realize that everything from your neck down gets bigger when you're pregnant. Now don't get me wrong, I'm loving being pregnant and really couldn't be happier, it's just a little strange! I've been making my pants stretch by leaving them unbuttoned and wearing long shirts but I think those days are coming to an end. Just this morning I pulled on another pair of work pants, only to realize that the legs are tight as can be and the waist is so stretched that the pockets are all ripply! Needless to say, I am wearing them anyway but I think this will be the last time! Aside from needing bigger clothes, everything else is great! In the last two weeks, my little Weave has really given my belly a good stretch! I am twice the size this week that I was the last time I took a picture. My stomach doubled over night! I really and truly look like a pregnant lady! Yay!

Baby and Labor Day Fun!

On Thursday I went for my routine ultrasound.  Everything looked good, just a little ahead of schedule.  The lady that did the scan said from the measurements she took, I'm actually almost 20 weeks instead of almost 18.  So, I guess we'll just have to wait and see when the little guy decides to make his earthly appearance! At this point, I don't really care when the date is! I'll be anxious and excited either way! And, I'm only half way done, I have lots left to accomplish before the little one arrives!

Once again, our cute little boy decided to be stubborn and hide from us! The lady had to try for 30 minutes to get a shot of his face and even then, it was still really hard to make out.  He seems to like looking at my back and butt! His head was down as far as he could get it and he would only turn his face to the side if we bugged him! We did manage to catch a cute little yawn but that was about it for the facial shots.  These two pictures are the best from what they printed and they're still hard to make out!  I guess he's just a little shy!

Over Labor Day weekend, Chris and I joined the Fatty's for a nice relaxing few days in Las Vegas. Amber's mom was so nice to let us take over her house to swim, eat, and play! We had so much fun! It's always nice to get away, even for a quick trip,

Lindsay, Amber, and Preggors!

Cameron, Lindsay and cute little Cohen drove down on Saturday and spent the day with us too! They are such good friends and are always so fun to hang out with.
The Fatty's!

We are so lucky to have such wonderful friends! It's such a blessing to have friends that you can totally be yourself around, knowing that they'll love ya anyway!  We LOVE the Fatty's!

Is this not the cutest picture??!! It's not very often that I catch my man with an actual smile towards the camera, so this picture is for sure a keeper. And of course... Dylan is adorable! She is one of the most photogenic babies I have ever seen! Every picture I have of her is precious!

Random Pictures!

These last few weeks haven't been too exciting, but I have a few random pictures that I've taken and thought I'd post.

Melissa, Mom, and Bird... I love these girls!

A few weeks ago, my cousin Tiffany got married and all of us Musso's headed up to the wedding. This little guy is my cousin Lori's baby, Corey. He is such a doll!

My cousin, Chris, his wife Emily, and their three adorable boys were also at the wedding. Mathew, Will, and Joseph are so much fun! Mathew (the oldest) took an immediate liking to my brother Nick! Uncle Nick was the star of the show the entire weekend! In this picture, Mathew was telling Nick all about the Dinosaur Museum that they were going to. He was so intense about it! And yes... for those of you that know my bro and haven't seen him lately, his hair is way longer than mine and his beard is thick as ever! He is definitely going to be one of the favorite uncles!
My little guy will have so much fun playing with all the boys in the family!
At this rate, in a few years, we'll have enough boys to make up our own soccer team!

This picture is from awhile ago, but I couldn't resist posting it. This is Amber's cute Dylan! She is so stinckin' cute and the best baby in the world! She feel asleep like this while Amber and I were in the kitchen throwing dinner together. I can only hope that my little man will be as good of a baby as Dylan!
17 Week belly!!!

There will be no lack of testosterone in my house becuase...

Baby {BOY} Weaver will be joining the crew!! It's official! My hunch that this little one would be a boy, was right all along! I knew that Weaver, Reggie and Tobie needed another little guy to play with! We're so excited!! I can't believe I'm going to have a son! I just hope he comes out looking like his handsome daddy and not like me! Red hair and freckles on a little boy could be rough!

I love this picture because it's so obvious that he's a boy!

Most of the pictures were really hard to decipher because his little head was tucked way down low and the placenta was in the way but you can see his hands in this one.

Hooray for baby boys!!

Bird's the Word!

Bird was the one that took my picture for me last night and we just happened to snap this one too. I know I'm probably a bit bias, but I just have to say that I have the most amazing sister in the entire world! She is seriously the best sister one could ever ask for! Growing up, we were probably about as different as two sisters can be. She was the tom-boy athlete and I was the prissy little dancer but over the last few years, we have been able to spend way more time together and are great friends!

Bird (Stacie) has and always will be such an example to me, even being four years younger. She is so motivated and driven to accomplish all of the many things she has set her mind to do. You know you're something special when you decide to major in Math Education at BYU!! I despise Math and can't even imagine learning how to solve some of those daunting equations by hand without the ol' TI-89!! She is a math rockstar!

Not only is she motivated and amazing at math, she is truly one of the most loyal friends I have ever met. Not only to me, but to all of those people that are lucky enough to call her a friend. She is kind, compassionate, and loves to help people. All such wonderful qualities that I need to work on!

So... all in all, my cute little Bird's the Word is one of my angels! I love her more than she'll ever know and am so grateful to have been sent to the same family as her. Just the other night, she called me to tell me that she has decided to for sure serve a mission. The debate has been on for a few months now, but I think this time it's official. She'll most likely leave in January and will just miss meeting our little one, which makes me really sad, but above all, I am so proud of her. Making that decision with everything else that is going on in our lives right now would be super difficult and I know that she has decided to do what Heavenly Father would want her to.

I love you Bird and am so blessed to have you as my sister and friend!!

The beginning of the belly!

It's official! Baby Weaver is now too big to stay completely hidden! I know it's still not much, but the belly is definitely there! Some days, more than others, depending on the crap that I ate the night before, but I can definitely not suck it all in any longer! I know it's probably kind of silly to wish that I were completely showing, but I do! I can't wait for a legitimate pregnant belly! And... the best part about it is... my cute babe thinks that pregnant women are so cute! He loves little bellies! I have the most amazing man!!

13 Weeks ( I look really funky in this picture, but I had just gotten home from sitting outside in the 108 degree weather with my man and was definitely looking a little haggard!)
5 Weeks... a few days after I found out!

There's still a baby!

I know I'm a freak for fretting about my little bun in the oven, but for some reason, I get really anxious when it's time to head to the doctor. I went for my second appointment today and was a little nervous that they wouldn't be able to find the heart beat! Like I said, I know I'm paranoid because I saw the heart beating away last month on the ultrasound, I just can't help it. There just seems to be so many things that can go wrong. All is well though, the heart beat was easy as can be to find and was awesome to hear. Even my super mellow hubby was excited! Hooray for baby Weaver's little heart beat!!!

Weekend Re-Cap

This past weekend, Chris and I were lucky enough to be able to spend some quality time with my family and some great friends in Salt Lake. As I mentioned in my last post, our weekend began with a trip to the Poison concert. Having never been to a concert before, I really had no idea what to expect, other than the obvious wanna-be 80's rockers, like my love! The wanna-be's definitely did not disappoint but I was shocked to see how many conservative looking moms were in attendance! The crowd was very entertaining! The concert itself was really good... super loud, but good! I was amazed at how loud it was in there. The few times that I left the arena during the show were a little awkward because I couldn't hear a thing! It was the strangest feeling! I think my next concert trip will include ear plugs! All in all though, it was a blast. Chris loved it and I was definitely entertained by the people and Brett Michaels' horrible dancing on stage! Long live 80's butt rock!!

The next few days of our trip were spent with my family and our wonderful buddies, Nater and Linley. Nate and Linley were so nice to let us stay with them. We love them and have so much fun reminiscing about the good ol' days and talking about all the many ways that the boys are going to make us all millionaires!

The original purpose for our weekend get-a-way was to visit with my aunt, uncle and cousin that flew to town from Ohio for a Volleyball Tournament. I haven't seen them in a few years and had such a blast running around Salt Lake and Park City with them. We tried to hit the major sites around the area and ended the trip with a fabulous dinner all together at the Rodizio Grill. It was so fun! I truly am so blessed to have such an amazing family!

The trip was great but now it's back to work and reality! Baby Weaver (aka Cletus the Fetus) is still just incubating away. I've been so blessed and have made it to this point with only minimal signs of morning sickness! I hope I don't jinx myself, but so far, pregnancy really has been a piece of cake. Just for saying that, I'm probably in for the worst baby ever!! Oh well... either way, it's worth it!

Weaver loves 80's Butt Rock!

Photobucket

I'm not exactly sure when my husband's love for the 80's "hair metal, butt rock," began, but for as long as I can remember, my man has been in love! He is absolutely positive that had he been born five or ten years earlier, he would definitely have been one of the 80's great rockers and over the last few years has somehow managed to convert me as well. I can't say that I'm quite as devoted as my man, but I'm willing to play along, which is why my very first concert attendance will be tonight at the Energy Solutions Arena for the Poison conert!
Brett Michaels... here we come!!

What's in a name??

I told myself that I absolutely would not post about this next topic because a post about it would definitely reinforce the longevity of it, but I've obviously caved! I've realized that fighting it is a losing battle and I might as well record it, so someday I can show my child how funky his dad is!!

The issue...
Thanks to our dear friend BRINTON, my husband has lovingly named our sweet little baby-to-be CLETUS!! Yep... Cletus the Fetus! Sick, sick, sick! Who in their right mind refers to their child as Cletus the Fetus?!? With out a doubt, Cletus is the most redneck, white trash name I have ever heard and you better believe that my man LOVES it! He tells everyone that will listen that our baby's name is Cletus the Fetus. Honestly, our poor child won't have a chance in this cruel world if it's nic-name is Cletus!! It will turn out like this...

Well, maybe not quite, but it's still horrible and I just know he's not going to let up until I threaten him within an inch of his life! I guess I should be grateful though, Chris has been super cute about the whole pregnancy thing and is even pretty excited, which is huge for those of you that know my man! And so, much to my utter dismay, my sweet little peanut is (and probably will be for awhile) now known as Cletus the Fetus!!

*** Don't you worry Brinton... I'll get you back someday!!
