iPhone 9to5Mac

Introduced in 2007 by Steve Jobs, iPhone is Apple’s flagship iOS device and easily its most popular product around the world. Software wise, it runs iOS and includes a large collection of mobile apps through the App Store.

Since its introduction, Apple has released at least one new phone every single year. In recent years, that has typically been in the fall. iPhones are sold through multiple retail channels including Apple Stores, cellular stores, Best Buy, and other major electronic retailers. iPhones can be bought with a single up front payment, financed through the iPhone Upgrade Program, or financed through a cellular carrier.

Apple’s smartphone has become much more than just a phone since its debut. The iPhone can act as your primary camera, music player, GPS device, email client, mobile banking system, messaging device, movie player, and much more.

iPhone says Slow Charger: what does it mean and how to fix it

If you have an iPhone running iOS 26, you may have noticed that it now reports the estimated time to finish charging to 80% on the lock screen. If you are not using a fast charger, though, it will not do that and say ‘Slow Charger’ instead.

This probably means you are using an underpowered power brick or older cable. To fast charge with a wire, get a new charging brick that is rated for 30 watts or more, and a USB-C cable

This teardown-style case lets you peek inside your iPhone 17

I’ve been using Spigen cases for years now. They make some of the most eye-catching cases in the game like their retro-style C1 line that aims to mimic the original G4 iMac look or their MagFit line. This year they decided to go all out and break out their Zero:One line, which gives you the teardown iPhone vibe without actually needing to mod your iPhone. This lets you see what the inside of your iPhone would look like if it was opened up, and as a tech head, I absolutely love this. Here is what you should know.

Review: SwitchBot Wallet Finder is an incredibly useful accessory to track your wallet with iPhone Find My

I have an AirTag on my keychain to keep track of my keys, but obviously an AirTag is too big and bulky to fit inside a wallet. That’s what the SwitchBot Wallet Finder is for, currently discounted to just $17.99 each (Disclosure: Affiliate links are used in this article in cooperation with SwitchBot.).

Disguised inside a thin, credit-card form factor, the SwitchBot Wallet Finder connects to the Find My app on your iPhone, so you can follow its location, and it even houses a speaker so you can make it beep to help you find your wallet when it inevitably gets lost somewhere in your home. Read on for my review …

As analyst says Apple will skip the iPhone 19, is it time to drop the numbers | Apple graphic with iPhone Pro in place of iPhone 17 Pro

A firm of analysts are predicting that Apple will skip the iPhone 19 name in favor of jumping directly to the iPhone 20 in 2027.

Omdia believes the company will do this in order to mark the 20th anniversary of the iPhone, but it just reinforces my view that it’s time for Apple to drop the numbers altogether …

If you’re trying to buy a new iPhone but don’t quite want an iPhone 17, it can often be hard to find something on a tighter budget. Sure, Apple offers the iPhone 16e at $599 – but not everyone finds that to be a compelling phone. Luckily, there’s plenty of great options if you want to buy used, and I’ll be delving into five great picks for varying needs.

Find My iPhone enabled police to catch gang smuggling 40,000 phones to China

Find My iPhone enabled police to catch gang smuggling 40,000 phones to China | Still image from BBC coverage of a dawn raid

We hear occasional good news stories where somebody is able to use Find My iPhone to track a stolen device and successfully recover it, but a new record has been set when tracking a single iPhone led to a gang suspected of smuggling up to 40,000 stolen phones to China.

The iPhone was tracked to an airport warehouse where it was found in a box with 894 other phones, leading to the arrest of 18 suspects and more than 2,000 recovered phones …

Apple could reintroduce iPhone mini thanks to this recent lineup change, here’s how

iPhone 15 hugely popular in South Korea – while Japanese buyers seek out used iPhone 13 minis (latter shown)

In 2020, Apple surprised a lot of people by re-entering a neglected segment of the smartphone market: small phones. With iPhone 12 mini, Apple did something fairly special, by squeezing all of the same technologies of the iPhone 12 into a 5.4-inch form factor. Unfortunately, it didn’t live for too long, but thanks to a recent lineup change, a new window might’ve opened for its resurgence.

Hands-on: Kuxiu’s new X40 Turbo brings Qi2.2 fast 25W charging to your iPhone

Wireless charging and iPhones have had an interesting relationship. While Android phones had wireless charging extremely early, it took Apple years to adopt the regular Qi wireless charging with the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus back in 2017. Back then, it only charged at 7.5W, and it was not very efficient. Then Magsafe and the Qi2 standard recently came around and allowed iPhones to charge at 15W. But now we are getting Qi2.2, which is faster, cooler, and more efficient, and Kuxiu is the first to bring it to us. Here is what you should know about the new X40 Turbo and Qi2.2 charging.
