An unofficial, or private, server is hosted by an individual or a community, independently of the studio's official servers. It applies its own rules, rates, mods and moderation. On ARK Survival Ascended, these private servers often offer faster progression and a friendlier experience than the official servers.
ARK Survival Ascended is the remaster of ARK Survival Evolved, rebuilt on Unreal Engine 5 with completely reworked graphics and lighting. The survival and dinosaur-taming gameplay stays faithful to the original, but ARK Survival Evolved no longer receives new content: Ascended is now the reference game.
Launch ARK Survival Ascended, open the session browser, then filter by mode, map or name to find the server you want. You can also add it to your favourites using its IP address. From our ranking, note the server name before searching for it directly in the game.
In PvP, players can fight, raid and destroy enemy bases. In PvE, player-versus-player combat is disabled: you cooperate against the dinosaurs and the environment. PvX combines both, with dedicated PvP zones or scheduled PvP hours, offering a balance between confrontation and peaceful building.
Install the free server tool via SteamCMD (app 2430930, Windows), set your rates and passwords in GameUserSettings.ini, then open UDP port 7777. Plan on 16 GB of RAM minimum; a dedicated server or hosting provider is recommended for 24/7.
