Plants that please.

 I love these pretty little Pansy faces, always smiling at the sun. They seem to be happy in the old stone trough.

It's so gratifying when a plant does what you have asked of it!

This is a little unmown path edge, full of wild flowers, Forget me nots, Primroses, Campion, Herb Robert and more. I leave it like this and the bees love it.

Only a little going on in the greenhouse. I am severely curtailed in how much I can do for the moment, but have been very fortunate to find a lovely horticultural student who is coming to help me once a week.

.Update on medical matters. I have had all the cardiac pre-tests and now have an appointment in May with the Cardiac surgeon from Plymouth. I'm hoping he might give me an indication of the waiting time for surgery. I am so grateful for the many messages sent to me, and for your prayers.

Tulip collections

 Tulips planted back in November are showing off beautifully now. I bought three 'collections' from my favourite grower and each one is very different. Each contains three or four types of  bulb. The Renoir collection has parrot tulips which I've decided I don't care for too much.

The Parrot tulip looks as though it's not quite sure what it should be.

The Venetian collection is more sombre and evokes a very Venetian feel, recalling velvet fabrics and gold jewellery.

Below is the Tulips with Pizazz collection. They are mainly bright oranges, yellows and reds, very cheerful.

By the end of May, they will be over and it will be time to plant the pots with Summer plants. Summer! The year is already rolling on too quickly.

Little things

 It's such a joy to be able to wander through the garden and pick just a few Spring flowers.

Cowslips are spreading this year, the Grape hyacinths are a pretty blue, tulips are opening their colourful wings and forget-me-not is everywhere. Pink and cream primroses give their lovely scent. A couple of later mini daffodils are there too.

Just a small vase makes the room a pretty place.

A Pulsatilla, or Pasque flower hides amongst the other flowers. It has done so well this year and is full of blooms.

During the next few weeks I look forward to watching plants pop up, greeting old friends like my Peony and Delphiniums. 

So much to enjoy.

Easter

So many thank yous to the lovely friends who have sent messages and cards to me.

It's been a 'busy' week with ECGs, blood tests, Covid test and finally an Angiogram. The nurses were lovely, kind and reassuring, and I'm under strict orders to do as little as possible using my right arm. That's not easy! I wait now for the next round, which will be surgery in Plymouth.

So good to be home with time to gaze at the garden.
