As first-time buyers, buying our first home together was supposed to be one of the most exciting times of our lives. Instead, buying from Keepmoat has proved to be a nightmare, and based on our experience, I’d strongly advise anyone against buying a home from Keepmoat.
Two years ago, my partner and I completed the purchase of our house at Osprey View, but during the buying process, we weren’t told we’d be one of only two private properties on our street, with all the remaining properties having been sold to a housing association for social housing.
We only found this out during our first week of living here, when during a snagging inspection, the assistant site manager inadvertently mentioned that our house was one of only two “private” properties on our cul-de-sac. He didn’t even actually say that the other houses had been sold to a housing association, but what he did say made us start looking into it ourselves.
The frustrating thing is that Keepmoat had plenty of opportunities to tell us this before we completed. If we’d known before then, we’d have been able to reconsider buying the house without losing more than the £250 reservation fee.
If we’d known that virtually the whole street would be made up of social housing, we’d have thought twice about buying here – we’d have chosen a different plot or looked at another development altogether.
Our objection is absolutely not to social housing or to the people who live in it. We knew from the start that there’d be some social housing on the wider development and had no issue with that. Our issue is that we weren’t told that almost the entire street we were buying on would be made up of properties owned by a housing association, which is completely different from knowing there’d be some social housing elsewhere on the development.
Unfortunately, since moving in, we’ve experienced loads of antisocial behaviour on the street. The police have been called to our street so many times that we’ve genuinely lost count. In the first few weeks alone, they were called to incidents involving domestic abuse and fights on the street between residents, and since then, we’ve witnessed a drugs raid, a crime scene investigation, a break-in, and an individual running through our garden at night while carrying a machete and being chased by police.
One of the houses directly opposite us is now completely boarded up, with all the windows and the front door smashed in and covered up. Our understanding is that this wasn’t a random break-in and was connected to the people living there. Having a house directly opposite us left like that is a constant reminder of the situation we’re stuck in.
Kids on the street have deliberately scratched my car, kicked footballs at it and thrown stones at it, causing permanent damage. We’ve witnessed the kids stealing parcels from outside residents’ homes, trying to kick exterior taps off other houses, and ripping up plants and trees in communal areas.
Residents are also riding dirt bikes and quad bikes up and down the street at stupid speeds every day. The noise is incredibly annoying, especially as I work from home, and it genuinely has an impact on my ability to work. The speed the bikes are ridden at is also a concern, particularly because of the number of children living on the street.
We’ve reported these issues repeatedly to Keepmoat Customer Care, the housing association and the police over the past two years, but despite all that, absolutely nothing has changed.
Put simply, we don’t feel safe in our own home. We’re also worried about what this will all mean when we try to sell the house, both in terms of finding a buyer and the value of the property. More than anything, we never expected to have to question whether we’d feel comfortable raising a family in our first home.
Buying our first home should have been an exciting milestone, but instead, the experience has caused us significant stress and anxiety. It’s also taken a toll on my mental wellbeing, which has started to affect me physically too.
We feel completely let down by Keepmoat. We weren’t given information that was clearly relevant to our decision to buy, and we’re now the ones living with the consequences every single day. It goes without saying that we regret buying from Keepmoat.
We’d still like a proper response explaining why we weren’t told before completion that the rest of the houses on the street would be owned by a housing association, and what they intend to do to address the situation.
We never thought we’d need to ask whether the houses on our own street had been sold to a housing association. We believe Keepmoat should have made that clear before we made one of the biggest decisions of our lives.
And all of this is without even getting into the issues we’ve had with the general quality of the build…
He is a very honest person when he comes to his job. He say the state of the repair work he is to do. and he did a very neat job. We are so happy for the good job he did.
Sales Rep (Lorna) was very friendly, approachable and helpful with the process.

Well, what I can I say. From the moment I arrived at the sales enquiry office, to walking away with a big smile, Elizabeth was nothing less than impeccable. Elizabeth provided reassurance and a very friendly approach to myself and my partner, and considering that this was our first time enquiring about a new home, remained polite throughout and took things at a steady pace with absolutely no hurry. As mentioned above, this was our first time enquiring about our first property, and Elizabeth provided answers to all of our questions and pointed us in the right direction.
Overall, our visit to Keepmoat and our interaction with Elizabeth was a pressure free, prestige experience from start to finish. Elizabeth is an asset to Keepmoat and made our experience!

An absolute pleasure. While i was previously apprehensive about seeking guidance in person, my mind was changed on the spot by the warm welcome we received from Elizabeth. She was very down to earth, considerate and provided insight and reassurance for me and my partner who have little to no experience in property. I can confidently say that if i am to rent or buy property with Keepmoat, Elizabeth is the main reason behind my decision. Her earrings were also super cute!

We’ve had an outstanding experience purchasing our new-build home at Cambridge Green, and a huge part of that is down to the fantastic support we received from Sam and Heather.
Sam played a huge part in our decision to purchase on this development. She was the first person we spoke to, provided us with amazing information, answered all our questions and took us around the house we ultimately decided to purchase. Her knowledge, enthusiasm and welcoming approach gave us such a positive first impression of the development and ultimately helped us decide that Cambridge Green was the right place for us.
From there, Heather’s outstanding service made the whole purchasing experience incredibly positive. She was so helpful, approachable and supportive throughout, always going out of her way to make sure we were kept informed and felt confident about the process. She took the time to make sure we knew exactly where to turn if we needed to contact customer service, including ensuring we had the appropriate phone numbers and information readily available.
What really stood out about Heather was how much she genuinely cared about making our experience as smooth and stress-free as possible. She consistently went the extra mile, was always willing to help and made us feel that nothing was ever too much trouble. Her support and attention to detail made a real difference and gave us complete confidence throughout the process.
Sam was a huge reason we chose Cambridge Green, and Heather truly made the purchase journey such a positive and memorable experience for us. She is an absolute credit to the team, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she did to help us.
We absolutely love our new home and would wholeheartedly recommend Cambridge Green and Keepmoat homes, particularly for the exceptional service we received from Heather.

We’re really happy with the customer service we’ve received from Keepmoat so far. Melanie from the Customer Service team was very helpful and responded quickly, arranging for Customer Care Technician Scott to come out and deal with the minor issues in our new home.
Scott was outstanding. He was polite, friendly, kind, and very dedicated to his work. He took the time to fix everything properly and made sure the issues were resolved to a high standard.
We understand that minor snags can happen with any new build, but we’re very pleased with how quickly and professionally Keepmoat has dealt with them. It’s reassuring to know that the team is willing to listen, respond, and put things right.
So far, we’re very happy with our new home and really appreciate the support we’ve received from Melanie, Scott, and the Keepmoat customer care team. Thank you for the great service!

Shona in the customer care was amazing. She managed to get our problem solved in a couple of weeks and was providing updates as and when she had them. She chased everything for us and was working really hard to get things sorted for our house. If I had this experience alone it would’ve been 5 stars for all her hard work and effort she put in. However we had a delay at the beginning with someone else that delayed the issue and it took in total a month to fix. I felt that we we’re given false hope and answers on the query and when I was calling they were always busy and never got back to us. It wasn’t unfortunate that we got Shona it was unfortunate that she was passed our case and had to start all over but I felt a lot more appreciative that she was happy to take over and deal with our problem and she got it sorted near enough straight away and the updates along the way make a huge difference in this experience so thank you Shona! ✨
