VoIP telephony service
VoIP telephony service
We are currently setting up the VoIP telephony service within IT services. With Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP for short), we are introducing a future-proof, secure and user-friendly technology. Thanks to VoIP, staff will be able to make calls using a telephony app via a work device, regardless of their location.
The new VoIP telephony service is based on an infrastructure being set up on the UOL campus. The transition to VoIP is expected to be completed across the university by mid-2028. A pilot scheme is planned for autumn 2026, and the phased roll-out of VoIP telephony for staff is scheduled to begin in spring 2027.

"Private calls" is being discontinued
From 1 September 2026, the ‘private calls’ function will no longer be available. The Presidential Board has decided to discontinue this function because the number of users is steadily declining. Charges for private calls will no longer be processed via the payroll system. As a user, you do not need to take any action. Between 24 August and 28 August 2026, Division 4 will implement the necessary technical changes.
