Bio-Hybrid
Bio-Hybrids (バイオハイブリッド体, Baiohaiburiddo-tai), also referred to as Bio Digimon (バイオデジモン, Baio Dejimon)[1] are Digimon that are the result of the fusion between human DNA and Digimon data.
Overview[edit]
Bio-Hybrid Digimon are Digimon created through adding the DNA of Adult/Armor or Ultimate level Digimon into humans. This allows said humans to perform Hyper Bio Evolution (for the Adult/Armor level) or Hyper Bio Extra Evolution (for the Ultimate level) to evolve into Digimon by inserting their Digisoul into their Bio-Hybrid Digivices in a similar manner to Spirit Evolution in Digimon Frontier. As with most anime evolutions, these can also be undone seemingly at will or after receiving significant damage in battle. Beyond allowing them evolution, becoming a Bio-Hybrid seems to have an effect on the human's Digisoul, transforming it from its original colour (in all seen cases, the default yellow)[2] into purple.
Appearance-wise, all Bio-Hybrid Digimon look nearly identical to their original versions, except with red (Adult/Armor) or green (Ultimate) heads and the addition of fluid tanks and cables to the Adult/Armor ones. They also share Attributes, Types, Fields and Attacks with their original versions.
All Bio Digimon were modified by Kurata Akihiro. Compared to their originals, Bio-Hybrid Digimon have increased strength and speed.[1] These allow them to overpower even Perfect-level Digimon in their Adult/Armor forms despite the apparent level disadvantage.[3]
If a Bio-Hybrid suffers enough damage, they'll revert into normal humans, with their Digimon DNA separating from them and turning into a Digitama.[4] Their Digisoul will also return to its original colour.[2]
As is common with Armor-level Digimon, the level of the original Bio-Hybrid Forms is unclear. They have been classified as both Adult[5][6][7] and Armor[8] levels. The Digimon Savers anime itself gives no level to any Bio-Hybrid, though it hints that the second forms are Ultimate-level Digimon in the title of episode 33: "Final Decisive Battle! Kouki, Ultimate Evolution".
Only one Bio-Hybrid Digimon was not based on a pre-existing Digimon: Bio Lotusmon, which predates Lotusmon by around a year. In-series, this creates a contrast with Fujieda Yoshino and Rosemon, the only main Partner Digimon in Digimon Savers which existed prior to the series. Due to this, Bio Lotusmon has appeared outside of Digimon Savers and related cards, being accidentally added to Digimon New Century (later replaced with the proper Lotusmon) and Digimon Soul Chaser. No other Bio-Hybrid Digimon has been used outside the confines of Savers.

Digimon Savers[edit]
In order to prevent the DATS team from hindering the revival of Belphemon, Kurata Akihiro sends out Kouki, Ivan and Nanami to attack Daimon Masaru and the others. Upon being defeated on various occasions, Kurata gave his henchmen Bio-Hybrid upgrades in order to eliminate them. When each Bio-Hybrid was defeated, they returned back to their respective human forms, accompanied by a Digitama.
