Showcase: Napoleonic Spanish Hussars

 

Heyhey, here's some Napoleonics again! And Spanish at that! And hussars at that! So everybody should be pleased. At least I am.

Showcase: Napoleonic Württembergers!

 

Heyhey, a while ago I posted Württemberg units by Piano Wargames. Here's the army shot of the whole  formation, and their boss as a little extra!

Showcase: 40th Foot (2nd Somerset)

 

Heyhey, time for some historicals again, and Napoleonics at that! This is the 40th regiment of Foot (2nd Somerset) in 28mm!

Lovely choice of figures there, depicting the typical firing line in Spain. The back rank is Perry miniatures, the kneeling figures in the front are Brigade figures (I think). Also, showing a lovely colour party with officers, a horse-mounted officer and a dog! Flags by GMB.

Very cool unit of infantry, on properly nice, big bases, which always adds to the look. Hope you like them!

Heyhey, I got to paint a bunch of Napoleonics again! For Spain! These here are the 15th (The King's) Regiment of (Light) Dragoons (Hussars).

Showcase: Württemberg Guard Horse Jägers

 

Heyhey, here's some lovely Württemberg Guard Jägers on Horse. Also by Piano Miniatures. Lovely figures.

Pretty much straightforward, along the uniform plates and contemporary illustrations I could find. By the way, Piano Miniatures got free uniform plates on figures they sell online. Most of them are very useful.

Silver Bayonet is a rather interesting thing, isn't it? It's basically a honeypot to lure unsuspecting Fantasy gamers into the Napoelonic period.

Heyhey. It's summer, and we're going a bit old-school again. Not that these two facts have anything to do with each other, but you gotta have some sort of introduction, right?

Showcase: Napoleonic Austrians!

 

Particularly animated ones at that as well! These are Austrian line infantry including command and a sapper, based for skirmish games such as Chosen Men.

If these here look familiar to you - you may have seen them in the Napoloenic supplement for the excellent Muskets&Tomahawks (2nd edition) rules.

I greatly enjoy painting Napoleonic Austrian infantry. In a few weeks time I'll show you my own (also for skirmish gaming, incidently).

Heyhey, here's some more 18mm AB Miniatures Napoleonics. It's the British 15th Hussars!

Showcase: Austrian Grenzers

 

Heyhey, here's some men of Militärgrenzregiment Nr.14, Szekler Nr.1. It's Grenzers! Other than most other Grenzer regiments, who wore tobacco brown coats by 1809, the guys of Szekler Nr.1 kept their white coats up until 1815. So that's how I painted them. Now everybody's confused when they see them, asks why those Hungarians (because that's what they look like in their white coats) wear these Grenzer shakos, etc. 

Big confusion! And that's how we like it. Hope you like confusion too! I mean, I hope that you like those figures too!

Showcase: Austrian Artillery

 

Heyhey, just a quick one today. It's an Austrian 3-pdr gun with some very neat looking artillerymen to work this magnificent piece of equipment. All Front Rank figures, so painting them neatly makes it worth the effort. Hope you like them!

Heyhey, hre's the man himself - Alexander I. Pawlowitsch Romanow, Tsar of Russia, king of Poland (for a while), grad duke of Finland, Lord of Jever (twice!).

Showcase: Siberia Grenadier Regiment

 

Heyhey, last week I showed you the very dapper and orderly-advancing Pavlov Grenadiers, this week we got the Siberia Grenadiers, who I painted as a sister regiment.

As you can see, the presentation is quite different. They're all in 'action poses', and got an officer on horseback amidst the line. Much less 'parade ground', much more dynamism there, including dirt and a casualty, calling out to his comrades.
