Urban Fantasy discussion

A to Z Yearly Challenge

A (hopefully) simple yearly challenge, with two different levels. Fill in each letter of the alphabet using the first letter of the first word in the title of a book or the first letter of the author’s first OR last name. For an extra challenge, fill the alphabet in twice: one time using book titles and a second time using author’s names.

A few simple rules:
Please disregard the words A, An, and The as the first word in book titles.
Each book can be used for only one letter. If you use the book title you may not also use the authors name for another letter.
You may use the same author’s name multiple times if you read multiple books by the same author.
For the letter X, I will accept that letter anywhere in the title or author’s name, not just as the first letter. (For example, author Ja x Garren, and title ‘E x treme Measures’
Any genre is allowed, not just UF.

Duration of challenge: January 1 – December 31, 2014

I think that just like the quarterly challenges any genre is fine, since it wasn't specified. Usually if there is a restriction like that it is mentioned. :)

I'll start with 26 and see if I get a burst of ambition later on.

Funny, Beth. I didn't notice the missing "N." I don't know how to copy and paste on my new Mac and so it was faster for me to type the whole alphabet myself, LOL.

Personally, I like to see new posts. I think it makes it easier for everyone to see what others are reading and get ideas for their own challenge. And to see when someone has finished. But it's not a rule or requirement.

Good catch! I think my subconscious did that because N usually ends up being the consonant I struggle with in so many spelling challenges.

I fixed it in the first post.

Heh. You can tell I copy and pasted from different year challenge. I'm the only with a . after the letter instead of a : (ie, A. instead of A:). Oopsie.

I'm pretty sure you can go back to the books that you read from the beginning of the year.

Thats what I'm doing. The book name than author. I'm just keeping track of books but i already have 2 doubles for a letter so maybe I should start tracking authors too....hmmmm
