Overly dramatic and hilarious... the lead character reminded highly of my drama buddy. ;-)
Lots of swooning, sensibilities, prejudices, presumptions and matchmaking from the lead character Laura.
Overall a typical Jane Austen. funny but their stupidity can be sometimes irritating.
Some words of wisdom from this book for girls:
"Beware of fainting-fits. . . Though at the time they may be refreshing and agreable yet beleive me they will in the end, if too often repeated and at improper seasons, prove destructive to your Constitution. . . My fate will teach you this."
"Run mad as often as you chuse; but do not faint--"
4 stars to begin this year....
Stopped myself from fainting lol
:-P Those stupid girls are always fainting in the book..!!!!!
Thanks to manu for recommending this....
It was cute.:) loved how he brought back all paintings and that function where he teamed up with the old guy. It was so much fun. :)
yeah... and all his comments about poems and Jane eyre.. ;-)
You should read Okay for now Resh.. It's a nice read :-)
Lovely list of book ideas Ini. Might borrow a few to try out! :D
Seeing that you started the year by pledging to run and not faint, am sure your drama buddy will have to spend less on revive this year! :P :P
Am sure you will have a rocking year! Looking forward to more of your books read and their reviews. May they all be faint-less! :P :D
This story is about Jude and her twin sister who along with her elder sister are brought up in the land of Faeries after their parents are murdered. The misery of being a human mortal in the Faerieland is difficult for Jude and her sister and they tackle in their own different ways...
Towards the end Jude's thought process and activities seems too adult-ish for me rather than a usual 17 year old... It was nice to read about Faeries and their dirty politics.
Had nice twists in the second half and was an interesting read. Will read the future books in this series.
4 stars.
First mystery of this year.. and not at all disappointed. Lo Blacklock, a travel journalist, who partly witnesses a murder while travelling in a Cruise... Thought the burgling initially had some link later, but it just added to her nightmares and anxiety.. Towards the end it got filmy, nevertheless enjoyed reading this one....
4 stars
- Unconventional love story with Weird characters... Can't help but like this one. - 4 stars
7. Along for the Ride
An usual YA . very light read, nothing extraordinary... enjoyed this. 3 stars
8. From Lukov with Love - This one I read as an Allnighter. book by my favorite author,.. After winnipeg and Kulti, this didn't disappoint me.
I loved that the theme is Figure skating - one of favorite sport to watch.. and I loved it throughout.. Some events and characters seemed similar to the other romances I've read. But That aside, I loved reading this one..
And I was more than happy at the appearances of Characters from Dear Aaron Ruby and Aaron in this book...
4.5 stars
