Covering the Cowboy

Rate this book
The last thing Austin Williams needs is for his just-like-him nerdy son Dallas to get into a fight at school. The last thing he expects is to get to school to find that Dallas has a new best friend, a miniature cowgirl named Paige. The final shock of the day comes when he realizes that his son’s new best friend’s dad is the cover model he just hired for all of his novels.

Kyler Hale is a cowboy. He’s used to rough and tumble folks, and he lives for his daughter. Which is why, when she makes a good friend in kindergarten, he’s going to do everything he can to help them stay friends. Between play dates and outings, Kyler discovers he also wants to be friends with Dallas’s dad. Austin is kind, smart, interesting. And hot. But Kyler has never figured out how to date a guy before, so he has to really put some thought into it.

As these single dads navigate kindergarten, dating, and finding ways to tell each other the truth, things might get tough. Can they find a way to cover all their bases and give everyone a happily ever after?

ARC review

It was a good book.
They are both single parents and the way they just blended together as a family was so beautiful. Everything was natural and it was so amazing to read.
Kyler was not very confident in his sexuality but he wanted Austin so he fought for it.
And Austin was so cute, he never pressured Kyler

This is book 3 of a series. I haven’t read the previous two but that didn’t seem to affect the plot line or readability.

The main characters are Austin, who is a romance writer in need of a cover model . Kyler is a cowboy who needs some extra money. They unexpectedly meet when their young kindergartener children are involved in an incident at school.

Austin recognises Kyler as his books cover model but Kyler has no idea.

“Dear God, Austin prayed. Please let me get through today without totally geeking out about the fact that my son’s only friend in the world’s dad is the hot-as-fuck cover model for my hot-as-fuck books about a hot-as-fuck cowboy. If you could do this for me I would really appreciate it. And I would promise not to write any more kinky books, but it would totally be a lie because I have to pay my rent. Love Austin.”

Kylers daughter Paige is a sassy , sweet tomboy that befriends Austin’s son
Dallas. Dallas has been severely bullied due to being nerdy serious and smart. The two men strike a friendship and play dates with the little besties.

“What he was supposed to say. I’m hanging out with my son’s best friend’s dad, who is straight and a little wigged-out about me being gay, but that’s cool? We’re still being cool. Oh, also he’s, like, the body double of my best character and… Yeah, no. “

This book is a very slow burn romance, which I personally struggled with. Kids were cute, guys were in a nice bro friend zone for about at least half of the book. Austin thought Kyler was straight so was a very respectful gay man to his straight bestie. Kyler struggled with his bi-side in that he kept that on the down low. There was no angst and a nice happy ever after.

I have it at three stars because I personally didn’t LOVE it. There wasn’t anything wrong with it, I just found it not my cup of tea, most likely due to the slow burn. I would’ve appreciated more romance and sexy times and less time spent about the endearing kids.

This books is low-angst, feel-good fun! It is family, love, and Christmastime. And, I so enjoyed going back to the world of Colorado cowboys and the men who love them.

In this story, Austin is a gay romance author with an asthmatic kindergarten son who is a bit nerdy and prone to being teased. After being called to the principal's office to discuss another bullying issue with his son, he meets Kyler, the father of his son's classmate, who bravely came to his son's rescue.

The two men immediately become friends, as their children are already friends. Playdates become more time spent together and a blurring of lines. As Kyler spends time with Austin, it awakens his bisexuality. He's always known he is attracted to men, too, but he's never acted on it. Now, it is becoming more and more difficult to take it slow and explore his own feelings.

This book has blended family, plenty of good times, two young children who gradually move from friends to a sibling relationship, some ranch and rodeo talk, and a beautiful forever love. Read this book and enjoy!

Covering the Cowboy by BA Tortuga is the 3rd book in her Cowboy Wanted series. It is the sweet story of a writer and a cowboy brought together by their young children who are able to make a family filled with love. Austin Williams is a M/M romance author in Aspen. He has a son, Dallas, who is just starting kindergarten. He worries about him because he is just like him being very smart, loves to read, and is somewhat of a nerd which leads him to be bullied and not have many friends. This changes when Paige Hale moves to Aspen and is in Dallas’s class. Paige stands up for him when a bully attacks him and they become best friends. Austin and Paige’s father, Kyler Hale, meet when they are called into the principal’s office over the incident. Kyler was a former rodeo bronc rider who has retired and now has a small ranch in Aspen. His daughter was the result of a mishap but he loves her beyond anything. His ex, Henley, is also famous in the rodeo and they decided that it would be best of Paige stayed with him because she traveled so much. She loves Paige and sees her as often as possible and talks to her every night. Kyler was also worried about Paige because she was a cowgirl through and through, strong and tough, and didn’t take anything off of anyone so he was afraid she would have a hard time making friends. He was thrilled that Paige and Dallas hit it off and when talking to Austin they made arrangements to meet the next day for trampolining and have pizza and a movie at Ausin’s condo. Everyone hits it off which leads to a lot more time spent together with hiking, trick or treating together, having Thanksgiving, and then leading to Christmas activities. During this time Austin and Kyler get to know one another, learn about their pasts and their families, and what led them to where they are now. While Kyler was straight he had an attraction to Austin that only grew and he realized he was bi. Austin was taken with Kyler right from the start but thought he was straight so didn’t pursue anything until Kyler made the first move by kissing which led to some other exploration. When they are invited to a Christmas party at a big ranch in town Kyler feels out of place and almost has a panic attack but Austin is able to talk to him and show him he’s willing to fight with him and stand up to him which is what they need if they are going to be together and that is something they both want. This leads to some hot love scenes and they spend a great Christmas together with their kids and Henley and declare their love for each other. Looking to the future Austin and Dallas are going to move in with Kyler and form a family together. I really enjoyed this book. In many of Ms. Tortuga’s stories the children play just as an important part as the men who find love do. This one is no exception as without Dallas and Paige becoming best friends Austin and Kyler would probably have never met. Austin is out and proud and also nerdy and sweet and loves Dallas more than anything. Kyler has just come to town and is learning about what there is to do. There is no doubt he is a strong cowboy but his love for Paige and then Austin and Dallas shines through. Henley plays a big part in the story as do others in the town as they help the men find what they are looking for. It was also great that Kyler was the cover model for one of Austin’s book series found through Cowboy Wanted and it didn’t take Austin long to realize that, even though Kyler didn’t catch on until later. I highly recommend this book if you like sweet slow burn stories that involve cowboys, children who are opposites but become fast friends, and a nerdy writer who all get their happily ever after together.

**Note: This is the third book in the series. I haven't read the first two, but I didn't feel I was missing anything. I AM, however, going to buy the other two based on this one.**

Austin (a geeky, lanky writer) and Kyler (a former professional Bronc rider and leather worker) are two single dads just trying to survive single parenthood while doing the best they can for their kids. Their first meeting is less than ideal, with Austin's son (Dallas) the victim of bullying and Austin automatically assuming that Kyler's kid is the bully. Turns out that Kyler's daughter (Paige) is the defender, having declared herself Dallas's best friend and protector. It isn't until after the meeting that Austin realizes that Kyler isn't just the dad of his son's new friend - he's also the cowboy on the covers of Austin's books.

The friendship between the dads is awkward and stilted to start, but they have no choice but to get to know each other as their scene-stealing kids spend more and more of their time together. Soon enough, it's daily hangouts and meals and even sleepovers for the kids - and the dads (though completely platonic to start).

This is the definition of a slow burn but for good reason: despite acknowledging he is bisexual, as a cowboy on the professional circuit - and then as a single dad - Kyler has never had the opportunity to explore that side of his sexuality. Falling into a relationship with Austin is as easy as breathing in private, but Kyler understandably struggles to navigate the public side of dating a man. But the author handles it with care and there is never a moment when the reader could question his desire to be with Austin.

The found family aspect of this novel is incredibly heartwarming - the kids become siblings almost instantly, with Paige calling Austin 'Poppy Austin,' and Dallas calling Kyler 'Daddy Ky.' Even Paige's mom becomes 'Momma Hen,' completing their odd but perfect little family.

The chemistry between the men is undeniable, and I personally loved the slow build-up to their relationship. The spice was top-tier when they got there, but this wasn't your typical M/M romance. This was about love, family, and stepping out of your comfort zone, and B.A. Tortuga created a book with the perfect amount of laugh-out-loud moments, tender scenes, and just the right amount of tension to keep me reading.

Austin was raising his son alone because the man who was supposed to raise him wasn’t worthy as far as he was concerned. There was nothing more important than Dallas’s happiness, and he would move heaven and earth for him. Being alone with just him and his son wasn’t a hardship. It was just his way of life, and that was perfectly okay. He was a romance writer and was getting by just fine.

Kylar was a Bronc rider but decided to give that up because his daughter needed stability, and her momma wasn’t built to do it. They never had a great love affair, but a baby was made, and he wouldn’t trade it for anything. He loved Paige and wanted the very best for her. Moving to Aspen and building a house on some land he inherited was a perfect place to start his new life.

What Kylar didn’t expect was to have to do some work as a cover model for a romance writer. What Austin didn’t expect was that the cover model for his romance books had settled in Aspen. Neither expected their kids to become the very best of friends, which meant they could become the very best of friends, too.

OPINION: This is such a sweet, gentle story of two men who didn’t need a partner but would welcome the right person in their lives. The kids in these stories are amazing. I don’t naturally gravitate toward books with kids, but I had the opportunity to read this because I love BA Tortuga and knew I would enjoy it. I have not a single regret. The kids are both wonderful, and the story is mostly about two small families coming together to make a big one. The addition of the ex, who becomes part of the group, is fantastic. Everything about this story is sweet and heartwarming. You just fall into the story, watching two good people fall for each other like they were just waiting for the other. It feels good and special, hitting all the notes when it comes to romance. This is a wonderful story with no angst and tons of love.

I adore this book, it had me smiling and giggling all the way through. The characters were so realistic and relatable and the friends to lovers relationship developed so slowly and naturally, it was very believable. Dallas and Paige stole the show, I can till visualize Dallas’s little butt wiggles and Paige’s fierce defense of Dallas in the principal’s office and anytime he seemed threatened. Kyler’s realization that he was drawn to Austin, and the careful way they were around each other as they explored the developing attraction was so sweet, especially the way Kyler used an endearment before Austin did, surprising him with the casual use of “honey” was adorable. I especially enjoyed Dallas’s description of the Lion King production they were going to see — it is one of my very favorite Broadway shows, bringing up good memories of a special event. The whole book had such a positive feeling of acceptance, the dad’s were awesome in the way they parented the two precocious children, and Henley’s acceptance really helped cement the new found family Austin and Kyler had created. This was such an entertaining book to read on the lead up to the Christmas season, I may need to reread it each year at this time to put me in the mood. I thoroughly enjoy books from this author, and this is right up there with my favorites. If you choose to read it yourself, I don’t think it will disappoint.

Austin is a romance writer, and hires a cowboy to model for his covers through an agency. His son Dallas makes a friend at school named Paige when she stands up for him against a bully. Her Dad is his cover guy, named Kyler.

Kyler has a piece of land he’s building a house on for him and Paige after retiring from the rodeo circuit. His ex is still on the road, but they agree Paige needs stability.

When he meets Austin through Paige’s friend Dallas, they both agree the kids benefit from having a friend who brings out the best in them.

The Dads hang out and become friends, but Kyler has some new feelings he’s never pursued before. The rodeo is less understanding, though his ex knew he was bi, but once Austin admits his attraction too, they start a relationship.

It all feels natural and they become a family. The kids love the idea of being siblings, and the last piece of each of their puzzles fit, love when neither of them expected it for themselves.

Some of the writing is confusing at times to make sense of, but overall this is a fun read with an interesting premise of cover model and writer. I loved Paige, who’s got moxie, and Dallas, a smart, sweet little guy.

I received this ARC for free and am glad to give it my honest review with thanks.

Absolutely phenomenal!

I loved this book! The story of Kyler and Austin is filled with love, laughter, animals, one amazingly smart boy and one sassy little girl and is an absolute joy to read! Austin writes romance books and when relaunching his series with a new cover, he needs a new model no one has seen before. Enter Kyler. He needs a bit of extra money to help with the home he is building for him and his daughter Paige. The two men meet at school when they get called in because Paige stood up for Austin’s son Dallas against a bully. The two children become besties right then and there and it will bring Austin and Kyler together. Kyler will struggle a bit to admit his feelings for Austin as they continue to grow the more time they spend together. Paige’s mom, Henley is a part of the tale too and she is a wonderful and loving mother who does what’s best for her daughter in the best way. I love how the three of them get along and the teasing that happens when they all get together. There is nothing but love for Dallas and Paige and I love how both men love the other’s child like their own. Austin and Kyler will get their happily ever after and I love how the story ends.

I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.

Every BA Tortuga book that I read feels like I’m coming home again. Covering the Cowboy is no exception. Austin and Kyler are both single fathers who’s connection starts long before either of them ever meet each other face to face. With their children becoming best friends after a bullying incident in school these two men discover that as different as they are, they have more in common than they would have ever thought. As with any great story there are obstacles that come from outside forces as well as some between them but what it all boils down to is a wonderfully romantic and emotional story about 2 men who want to build the family that they both have always wanted. As always this story is packed with so much content that it always feels like a much longer book then it really is. Just when I feel like I must be getting to the HEA, I check my reading progress and I still have 60% of the book to finish! So much more to look forward to. BA Tortuga books to me feel like a cold night curled up on the cozy couch, wrapped in a blanket with a good cup of tea. No better way to spend your time than investing in reading one of the many fantastic stories. Pick up Covering the Cowboy, you won’t regret it!

I always enjoy a BA read and her wonderful and sweet cowboys. This was a spinoff of the Leaning N series and it was nice to see some characters from that series in this read. It follows Kyler and Austin who are a pair of single dads navigating kindergarten, kids parties and finding love in the unlikeliest of places.

This low angst read gave holiday vibes as the MCs find themselves play date partners after their kids become friends in school and Kyler figuring out parenthood post rodeo life. Kyler’s daughter, Paige, is new to the area but befriends Dallas (Austin’s son) after standing up to some bullies of his. Kyler and Austin’s friendship grows into something more as Kyler discovers more about who he is and realizes his attraction to Austin.

I love a found family story and seeing this group develop into that was a good read. It’s more of a slow burn read that focuses on the developing relationship between the two MCs and wrapped up with a good HEA. I haven’t read the prior books in the series but this can absolutely be a standalone read.
I read a complimentary copy and this is my honest and fair review.

Really appealing👍👍

4.5🌟 stars
I knew I liked the single dad romance trope, but two single dads joining together: just so appealing. And the kids are darling, too.

This story took off from the first few pages and I did not want to put it down. Austin (A.J.) the romance writer is so protective of his smart son Dallas: they couldn't be closer and their one on one moments are precious. And former bronco rider Kyler has a spunky little cowgirl (Paige) who seems to have total control over her daddy. The kids form a tight friendship and their dads, thrown together through the kids' activities, develop an easy partnership. This story has such a smidgen of angst that it's hardly worth mentioning. A bit of a slow build with a helping or two of steamy moments, which I really liked. I also liked that Paige's cowgirl mother is a positive, loving, supportive figure who has no problem with Kyler pairing himself with a man. And the bonus? It climaxes with a really heartwarming Christmas.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

“Covering the Cowboy” by BA Tortuga is the third book in the ‘Cowboy Wanted’ series and centers around Kyler Hale, single dad to spitfire Paige, and author Austin Williams, single dad to Dallas, and their adventures together.

This adult contemporary gay romance is such a lovely depiction of the bonds between fathers and their children even as it explores a burgeoning relationship between two very different single dads. I ladored these kids and their respective fathers who are determined to make life easy for their kids. There are such great vivid scenes, especially as Paige takes up for the underdog Dallas and they form their tight friendship. There are so many “awww” moments that one almost gets distracted from the heat that builds between the men, but that relationship is also deftly portrayed. This is one of those stories I’ll read again and again, just to savor the cute scenes and to appreciate the initial awkwardness between the hunky novice cover model and the author who uses him as inspiration.

This is a feel-good story that reminds me of why I enjoy this author’s writing so much, and it made me curious about the other books in the series, so I was delighted to discover that the first one is on sale. I look forward to reading about more of these yummy cowboys.

Dallas is a chip off Austin's sweet nerdy self. Paige is a cowgirl through and through and the apple of Kyler's eye. They meet at the principal's office. It would seem Wayne Franklin, son of lawyer and HOA president Elizabeth Franklin, has bullied Austin's son AGAIN. This the third time he has attacked him and broken his glasses this year and it's only SEPTEMBER. Fortunately for Dallas he has a new best friend in Paige, she kicked Wayne's butt. When Kyler takes off his hat Austin is shocked, Kyler is his latest cover model.
Two single men, two besties, you know soon they will be spending their free time together. Over the coming months, Dallas and Paige's friendship grows and with Wayne out of the picture, Dallas begins to get more friends, and he gets a little confidence. The children become as close as siblings, and Kyler admits to himself he has always been attracted to men as well as women; that's when realizes they have been dating. Henley was a wonderful counterpoint to all the testosterone.

Book three in the Cowboy Wanted series is a bi-awakening, opposites attract, single parents story. Austin, a writer, meets Kyler, the cowboy who graces the covers of his series of books about a gay, cowboy detective, when his son is bullied at school. Kindergartener Dallas is an introvert, where Kyler's daughter, Paige, is an extrovert. She beats up the bully and the two become best friends.
Austin and Kyler spend time together because of the children. They bond over being work from home, single dads.
Definitely slow burn, but that's really nice. There's a solid foundation of friendship before they become lovers. Their chemistry is sweet, they fit really well together. The children are terrific secondaries, intelligent and precocious. In all BA Tortuga books, there's low angst, children, food and dogs. The dogs come later in the book and the new found family eats a lot of pizza.
A quick, fun read. I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my review.

I loved Austin and Kyler’s slow burn romance, and especially that Kyler is Austin’s cover model although he doesn’t know it… yet. I thought this was a feel-good low angst sweet romance that I didn’t want to put down.

I love this author’s cozy cowboy books, and the set up with Cowboy Wanted, which includes a glimpse of Tom and Kody who run it. I like how each advert for a cowboy is for something different, and I loved that Austin is an author, with all the quirks that go with that. I particularly liked that Austin and Kyler talk things through, rather than lack of communication driving the plot.

The kids are realistic. I loved their friendship, and how different they are, and how Austin and Kyler are kind of co-parenting by comparing notes and helping each other out.

I loved that Paige’s mother is a great character, and the reason Paige is mostly living with Kyler a valid one. I loved how Henley is totally on board with Austin and Kyler’s relationship. She’s fun.

Single dad stories are an immediate look-see for me, and I enjoyed that aspect of this story between Austin Williams, novelist and father of Dallas, and Kyler Hale, artisan and former rodeo bronc rider and father of Paige. They meet because Paige defended Dallas from bullies and their friendship grows from that moment, just as their dads' do. It's a sweet, slow-burn, strangers-to-friends-to-lovers story with a twist. Turns out Ky is the cover model for Austin's current cowboy series but he doesn't immediately tell him. It's good to see their friendship developing. However, I found that the switch from just friends to more was a bit forced and awkward. And as usual in these stories, there's a lot of attention and time spent on the interaction between the children, a lot of conversation with secondary characters, and a lot of repetitive eating scenes and angst. That's why I can't round it up ... I just don't feel the vibe enough.

I have to say, I love everything that BA writes. This book had me trying to stifle a laugh at 130 in the morning. I love these two kids, Dal and Paige they fit like peanut butter and jelly. I love how Paige had Dallas back even at such a young age. What a way to met a new parent, in the Principal's office, with Paige protecting Dal, by kicking another kids butt. Bully is just wrong!
This book flowed beautifully and was loving. It also showed how much a writer goes through to get a book done. But I have to say, the funny stories, and lines in the book were just fantastic. The story of Jennifer the chicken was to die for! It's like watching a tennis match the way the quick comebacks flow between these characters. BA this is a great book, thank you for writing it. It was also great to see Stormy, Ford, and the gang.

Covering the Cowboy is a wonderful addition to the Cowboy Wanted series and I loved everything about it. This is a beautifully written, sweet, fun, low angst and endearing story with incredible characters and a lot of love. Kyler and Austin are exactly what the other needs and I adore their kids. Dallas and Paige are so sweet and I love that their dad's let them be exactly who they are. Austin and Kyler become friends first then their relationship slowly evolves into so much more as they spend time together with their kids who are best friends. They make a beautiful family together and I love that Kyler get's along so well with his daughter's mother and ensures that she is fully a part of their lives. The ending is perfect and I can't wait to see what the author has in store for us next.

It does not matter to me what this author writes, with each book, it becomes my favorite till the next one. This one stole my heart and like many the kids, Dallas and Paige, almost steal the show from Austin and Kyler. I love how these to men are brought together when their kids become besties (despite being so opposite from one another). Both Austin and Kyler are such lovable characters you want them to discover and create this wonderful perfect family. I love how Austin despite his attraction for Kyler lets Kyler control the pace of the relationship (since Kyler is dealing with his attraction for a man and what that means). This one has so touching scenes and some downright funny scenes but it the love that shines--they love they have for the kids and for one another. I did receive an ARC and leave this honest review.

Covering the Cowboy is a sweet, romantic book and I enjoyed it from start to finish. It deals with
Austin, a romance writer, hires Kyler, a cowboy, to model for his book covers. Austin's son, Dallas makes a friend at school named Paige, who stands up for him against a bully. Paige’s dad, Kyler, is Austin's cover model. Kyler has retired from the rodeo and is building a house for himself and Paige on land he owns. His ex is still on the road, but Kyler and his ex agree that Paige needs stability.
When Kyler and Austin meet through their kids, they both see how much the children benefit from their friendship. As the dads grow closer, Kyler realizes he has feelings for Austin that he hasn't explored before. Though the rodeo world isn't particularly accepting, Kyler's ex knew he was bi, and after Austin admits his own attraction, they begin a relationship.

Splendid! Austin, is the work from home single Dad of Dallas and writes romance books. Dallas is Austin's mini me and lives with childhood asthma. Kyler, is a cowboy who loves making custom leather products, has an amazing daughter, Paige and is building a house on inherited land. Austin and Kyler meet through their kids and enjoy a friendship as single Dads raising amazing children. Kyler doesn't know that he posed for many of Austin's book covers. Austin is proudly out and gay. Kyler, is startled by the news and not repelled. As the men continue to bond over their friendship and thier children's friendship, they grow in their thoughts and ideas. It si a joy reading about the men and their children and I didn't want this story to end. Amazing cover art, wonderful characters, Nicely done. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Nice, low-angst romance between a gay romance writer and the cowboy he'd unknowing used as a model for the cover of his books. They meet when their 6-year-olds bond at school. This book is particularly 'child heavy' - there's almost as much about the kids in this one as there are the dads. All the characters were interesting - I feel there were some that must have been from a previous book, but it didn't matter to this story - it's fine as a standalone.

I really like this author and jumped at the chance for an ARC of this book. It was a fast read, for me, and I didn't want to put it down (I got just 2 chapters into it and was pretty unhappy when I had to stop reading because it was time to go to work.....).

This was just okay for me. I loved the premise, the model for his book covers is now living in his town and a crush developed. Sounds great right? Not so much, this read exactly like a cheesy hallmark movie with all the second hand embarrassment for the bad acting and poor script. I felt there was too much focus on the children and not enough on Kyler and Austin’s developing feelings. The pet names felt a bit forced. It really seemed that the main story was the kids and the romance was second. I don’t know that I would even call it a slow burn and there was very little angst and just the sporadic comment about thinking one is cute or liking his butt.

Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this arc but it wasn’t for me. 2.5 ⭐️ rounded up to 3⭐️.

I absolutely loved this book. The setting was awesome and I mean who doesn't love a cowboy! The characters were just so endearing with Austin, an author and his son who are have a more nerdy personality and Kyler who is the epitome of a cowboy plus his daughter a miniature cowgirl named Paige! After a school altercation between the kids, Austin discovers that Paige's dad is the cover model he just hired! The children's growing friendship helps keep them both in each others paths allowing a slow build relationship development. This causes some problems for Kyler who has never dated a man! Things soon heat up though and I just loved following their journey. Highly recommend
I received a free arc copy and this is my honest review

Wow! I absolutely loved this book. Amazing characters and wonderful plot. Very beautifully written and easy to read.

Austin Williams is a single dad. He gets to school and finds that his son, Dallas, has made a new friend, Paige. When her dad arrives, he realises that it’s the man that he hired to be a model cover to all of his novels.

Kyler Hale is a cowboy. He lives for his daughter. So he’s going to do everything in his power for her to be happy. I loved the chemistry and banter between Austin and Kyler. They were made for each other.

Overall I loved this book very much. If you’re looking for a single dad, cowboy romance then you’re going to love it.

A story full of heart and love. 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩
Austin and Kyler are two very relatable men in today's society. Both have very precocious children, Dallas and Paige respectively who will win over any reader's imagination and heart. Though Austin had an "ex" who never wanted a child Kyler's girlfriend (?) who was Paige's mom was a very supportive mother to Paige. The circumstance behind their meeting is unique. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable read for this reviewer and the third in this "Cowboy Wanted" series by author BA Tortuga. This was an ARC offering via GRR and one I received for my honest and voluntary response, which this is.

How wonderful and fun! The children are a hoot, especially Paige, Kyler's daughter. She's a firecracker! Dallas, Austin's son, is adorkable and a bookworm. Both are in the same kindergarten class.

This is single dads Kyler's and Austin's story and romance. Kyler is a former state champion bronco rider. Austin is a gay romance writer. Kyler believes he is straight until he meets and fixates on Austin.

This book is amusing and enjoyable. Cuteness abounds. The scenes are wonderfully descriptive. This an easy recommend.

When two single dads meet at the principal 's office, their children's friendship spills over into their own. Austin is a romance writer, and Kyler is a former rodeo cowboy, now rancher, who happened to pose for book covers in order to help get his house built... and those covers are Austin's! As they grow in friendship, Kyler begins to desire a chance at more than just friendship, even though all his previous partners have been women. Their relationship develops gradually, but the way the children want to be family helps drive forward the plot. I really enjoyed the whole story (and the fact that this is 3rd in a series didn't detract at all).

2.5⭐️
I enjoy this author’s books, in particular for how fun it is to escape into their modern ranch/cowboy stories. This one wasn’t my favorite of the series. I’m sure many will love it, but for me, it had way too much focus on the kids. The romance is why I’m reading, and that felt on the back burner pretty much the whole way. There’s just so much on the very precocious Paige and her kindergarten bestie, Dallas - and even quite a lot on Henley (Paige’s mother). I loved the premise, but the execution wasn’t for me - so much kid time, lots of hanging around being buds, and just generally a glacially slow burn.
