A witch with the gift of water. A fae bred in duty. An immortal world on the brink.

Naiya

I’m supposed to lead my coven… but I don’t think there’s anything I can do to stop the vicious wave from crashing down on us. We have enemies on all fronts, including among our own kind, because our mothers mated with other immortals.

Hybrids aren’t supposed to exist, so we have to work twice as hard to survive our many enemies.

But things can always get worse.

The leaders of witchkind will do anything to get rid of us. Their latest gambit has drawn the eyes of the Blood King… and he can’t take them off of me. I was taught to avoid the fae at all costs, especially Blood fae. After all, my father is Winter fae.

And the Blood and Winter Kingdoms are at war.

Finrador

It is my duty to end the war with the Winter Kingdom. I will succeed where my father failed.

The Oracle has spoken. To kill the Winter Queen, I must claim my mate and harness her power… and the half-fae witch will lead me to my female.

Naiya is a savage little thing. I would greatly enjoy playing with her.

Alas, there is much at stake, and she must act as the tool I require her to be.

For I am the Blood King, and the witch will cleave unto me.

Note: Hydrous is a deliciously dark and steamy paranormal romance. It features enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, fated mates, a dirty-talking and psycho-sunshine hero, and a grumpy warrior heroine. Each book in the Immortal Coven series has an HEA for the couple, but the series has an overarching plot. See "Note for Readers" in the book for the content warning.

*Thank you so much to the author for an ARC of this title.*

I was highly anticipating reading this next entry in the Immortal Coven series. I was really impressed with LifeBlood when I read it last month. I was a little confused by the set up of LifeBlood (that is completely a ME issue, as Fantasy worlds can overwhelm me at times, but this time I was prepared and I was eagerly following along.

Naiya is the head of our Hybrid coven and in the beginning she and her sisters are called by the leaders of witchkind to face a challenge. They want to wipe out her coven but they don't know what they are in for when they force the fight.

Naiya is Hybrid of Witch and Fae (Winter fae to be precise) and when she fighting for her life, she also catches the eye of the Blood King. His kingdom is at war with the Winter fae, which is why it's super inconvenient that he seems to want her VERY badly.

Finrador is on a hunt to kill the Winter Queen and an Oracle has told him that a half-fae witch is his ticket to everything. So he stops at nothing to make Naiya his possession. Her body may not be able to fight him, but what will happen when he finds out her true parentage? He is a very possessive male, of course, and he is willing to do anything he must to make her addicted to him.

This was a thrilling romances of enemies to lovers, fated mates, and steaming chemistry. I wolfed it down in one day and I am aching for the next one. I am so invested in this Coven and their mates. I can't wait to see what happens in Inferno!

The spice was.... EPIC. Make sure to check the "Note to readers" at the beginning for TWs.

I am thoroughly enjoying this series. It reminds me of IAD, maybe not as intricate, but the different factions, the world building, the sassy and powerful heroines, the possessive asshole heroes, and the hot hot sex.

I highly recommend it if you love darker paranormal romance. I’m immediately going to start the third book.

Ughhhhhh... it's so good! You guys, why aren't more people reading these books?? It's a travesty! I am absolutely in love with these witches and am fully invested in their happiness and growth. I adore how wonderfully distinct and nuanced each one is, with varied but clearly definable strengths and weaknesses, internal baggage they need to overcome. I am becoming increasingly emotionally attached to them, to the point that its making me a wee bit nervous 😅

Naiya's character arc was so incredibly rewarding. Where Colette had to learn to trust in her own inner strength in Lifeblood, in Hydrous we see Naiya learning how to be vulnerable and just let her self fucking FEEL - and good lord, did that shit hit close to home more than once 🥹💜

Fin is an absolute riot - the egos on the men in this series is starting to border on endearing, their arrogance is outrageous 😂 But his arc, like Makhi's was, is satisfying - and I love how with both couples, you don't see them sacrificing who they are in order to fit some mold. Everyone is still unapologetically flawed and bloodthirsty and they absolutely make terrible decisions at times... but the complete and total acceptance in these bonds... it makes the hopeless romantic in me just melt 🥰

I also love how bloodthirsty everyone in this series is 😅 And the fact that Naiya and Fin basically bond over that very thing will never not be entertaining to me. And a man that relishes and trusts in his woman's strength and prowess? YES. PLEASE. GIVE. ME. MORE. 🙌🏻

The continued overarching plot regarding the corruption of the Elders thickens in this one as the stakes are raised. I can't wait for some of those hags to meet their long overdue comeuppance 😤 That's all I'll say about that.

And for those that care - the spice. Holy Mary, mother of God... hello, new kinks, and hello to some reconfirmed ones! 🔥🥵🔥

In short: I adore this series. This book was fantastic. I need more.

Wow.

This series is simply getting better and better.

This one wasn’t as dark as the previous book, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. If we can call dub-con mating marks less dark, that is 🤣

I really enjoyed how much Nai grew and became more confident. I LOVED that Fin couldn’t do anything to harm her and became her biggest protector.

I wish we knew more about what will happen to Fin’s brother and June but I’m guessing we’ll hear more in the upcoming books. I’m quickly going to move on to book 3 now!

Plot:

Naiya is feeling the pressure of being a leader to her coven. She is tired of everyone judging her hybridity and especially fed up by the Elders who seem to want nothing but her death.

When her coven is unjustly called for a challenge, she does not expect to find the fae Blood King there.

Fin is bored and when his oracle tells him to attend a simple witch trial, he accepts with the hopes that he’ll find his mate.
He does not expect to be completely enthralled but the tiny faeling.

As the two try to find a balance between their realms and their relationship, the world of magic is developing and twisting. Can they overcome their differences and find love?

Tropes:

🔥 enemies to lovers
🔥 fated mates
🔥 dub-con
🔥 size difference
🔥 dirty talk
🔥 piercing
🔥 breeding
🔥 blood play

I am loving this series

Vicious wee faeling

I did not think it was possible to match Makhi’s uniqueness, but Fin’s character is just as wild if not more so. This is not the type of paranormal romance that I am accustomed to. It is much more violent. The heroes are morally grey to say the least, and the heroines are true warriors, just as eager to vanquish their enemies as their male counterparts. And while I learned to appreciate Makhi’s romantic gestures, and reveled in Fin’s devotion, I have to say that Fin’s idea of a romantic gift does little for me. But for Naiya? It’s a win. You gotta love a man who knows how to give his girl a gift. I am loving this new series and I am more than ready for book 3!!!

Gah . . . this series!😍😍
My coven was strong.
We'd survived much.
We'd survive more.
I'm enjoying every moment I spend with this witch coven and their delicious mates.
There were few things as essential to immortal life as the prospect of sex and violence. This male was the embodiment of both, and he knew it.
This time around it was Naiya and Fin burning up the pages. I ate them up with a big-ass spoon.😂
My soul would shatter and reform because of the enormity of my feeling for the tiny female.
Moving straight to the next book!

I’ve always loved paranormal romance books that involve the fae, and Finrador and Naiya’s love story does not disappoint!!! Finrador is the king of the Blood Fae, and as the daughter of the king of the Winter Fae, he and Naiya should be sworn enemies. However, they are drawn to each other anyway. I thought this book was really well written; I loved that It was dark and gritty and that they went through hell and back together. I loved that they were both leaders as well, what with Finrador being a king and Naiya being the head of her coven. Finrador was charming in an arrogant way, and Naiya was bold and confident. I definitely recommend!!!

Thank you so much for this arc*

I fell in love with this immortal coven of hybrid witches that are buffeting prejudice and threats in LifeBlood. Here, the badass warrior and coven leader Naiya fiercely protects her sisters by suiting up and showing out at the challenge called by the corrupt council of witch kind.

Naiya is half Witch half Fae with secret royal ties to the Winter court that just so happens to be warring with the kingdom of the Blood King. The same king who was lead to her realm by a prophecy of his fated mate. As Naiya is spilling the blood of her enemies in shield maiden fashion during the challenge, her bloodlust and curves call to Finrador. He is determined to possess her.

How dare he make her feel things when she has always been in control? How dare he coax her lust? How dare he be just the alliance she needs to save her coven?

This is a enemies to lovers between headstrong leaders. Finrador is a dirty talking dominate hero with a psychotic sunshine disposition. Naiya is strong and strategic- trying desperately to reign in her flesh that calls for him as she keeps her parentage a secret.

Ughhh. I fell in love with these two. They are both evenly matched. The steam was delicious and revealing. I’m obsessed with these immortal couples that are changing the society around with their love.

Now this was an improvement, especially compared to the first book. The heroine is sooo much more likeable, and while the hero was a steaming pile of shit, he was still a kinda charming steaming pile of shit? There are a few unforgivable things he thought and did, but he pulled through in the end. As with the prequel, the world building is quite interesting and I'm still invested in the covens and what will happen next, even if I'm infuriated with the hero.
I've noticed, that while the heroine is fleshed out, and seems like a real person, the heros (speaking of Makhi and Fin) are just soo over the top, they're practically caricatures.

Wow! This book grabbed me and didn't let go. It has everything I was looking for in a fantasy romance. A strong female character, an Alphahole that you can't help but love, great side characters and some amazing fighting scenes. But my favorite part was the character growth of our main characters!

The side characters are well done. It leaves you wanted to know more about them. We are also getting breadcrumbs of the other witche's mate. And I am living for it! I'm excited to read Willow's book.

Amara has smashed it again. I'm not a pnr reader at all. But Amara drew me in with Naiyas story.

Naiya has been given the task of finding Finradors mate - the blood king.
Naiya has secrets, secrets Finrador can never find out.

Shocking outcomes that neither of them expected.
The tension and angst between the two was off the charts. Wow.

I love the whole Coven part too. I love reading about their powers and magic.

I didn’t love this as much as the 1st book in the series. Naiya was an annoying heroine and Fin…also annoying. They were a perfect match.

I disliked how long it took them to get themselves together. I disliked how Naiya processed shit. I disliked her leadership style at times. She made me miss Collette. That girl had sense.

This wasn’t a bad book. The stories are interconnected but standalone. So I had to read this to continue lol. Excited for the next.

Book 2 in the Immortal Coven series and another 5 star read. Naiya and Fin were adorable together, (and had such fantastic banter you'll be chuckling the entire time.) Everything about Hydrous was just perfect. The overarching plot and world building is wonderfully done. I am completely and utterly invested in this series!

Not that good-SPOILERS!

Left a 5 star just so the review would be seen, even though I really wanted to give it a 2! I'm extremely disappointed in this book, firstly let's just clear the air here, she was raped, there is no way around that, she wasn't in control of her emotions or body and Fin had sex with her without her consent. I'm not against non/dub con, but the author trying to use any word but rape for what happened and making the character accept everything he did and said (that he would have children with another women) after left an extremely unpleasant taste in my mouth. I was so excited for this book because Naiyas character was hyped up to be this badass leader but when it came to Fin she basically let him do/say anything to her, under the guise of "letting go" of the stress of leadership. It was extremely hard to enjoy the story because her character was written from this aspect. She was incredibly weak willed and it really didn't make any sense and If she had put up any kind of fight, I would have been more willing to give this a genuine higher rating but even without that glaring and honestly gross start,
Secondly- Women falling slave to the bond aspect doesn't make any sense when we hear so much about abusive mates in the world surrounding them. Just let the supposedly "rare" mates be without the abuse and cruelty aspect or it makes the whole concept of mating and fate seem not that special or important. The thing about the other half of your soul being abusive really cheapened the whole idea, when mates were seen as so special and rare but there were so many mentions of abusive ones or mated couples who neglected their children. What makes mates so different and special besides the constant urge to have sex? Didn't like that aspect at all.
Thirdly- The plot wasn't all that interesting, her lying about her father only added more to her pathetic submissiveness as it read as an excuse not to be rescued. The whole thing was lackluster and unenjoyable because of how their "relationship" started, I found it hard to believe that any genuine emotions were being felt, all that bonded them was sex and her submission. It cheapened the romance aspect for me and that was sad because I feel like with some tweaks this would have been a real 5 star read for me. It just felt like the bond was the only thing that kept them together and it forced emotions on them, her especially, where there really shouldn't have been any.
Fourthly- No redemption ark for Fin, like at all. I'm not even gonna say anymore but geesh, I love a dominant MMC but how this was written made him extremely intolerable to me.

All that being said, I know this is only the second book of the series and while I read and liked the first book, I had initially skipped ahead to the third, because I had a feeling from the synopsis that I wouldn't like this book very much, but I ended up liking the depiction of Naiya/Fin in that book so much that I got excited to read it, I should have stuck to my gut feeling though, because if I had gone in order, I would have been so pissed off that I would have probably DNF the series. This won't stop me from reading the others, at least I know from the 3rd book that the writing gets a little better. But I had to rant about these grievances, I never felt so betrayed lol I was really looking forward to N/Fs story because of how they are in the third book and their story just doesn't give what I was hoping it would.

Thank you so much for the ARC. This is my honest review.

Imagine a coven of elemental witches driven by violence and sëx (Manon vibes), then imagine a dark and steamy urban world where other witches and immortals want them brutally unalived... or brutally mated... 🥵 HEA guaranteed

👶 ~ It's dark paranormal romance baby! Yeah! With violence, gore, kinkiness and other dark themes... 🤤 check TW guys!

🌶 ~ Three words: "The Fin daze" because our Fae king knows how to take control 🥵... both may enjoy some blood play and other "plays"... 🥵

⚔ ~ In this #2 we meet Nai, the coven's leader. Deliciously violent, intelligent, macro and micromanager (from war and fight strategy, to training schedules, to safety rounds, to taking the witchlings to the park 😥). You would think she is a cold-hearted witch, but Nai's empathy, a life-threatening secret and the responsibility to keep everyone safe are heavy weights she carries. And when immortals from other realms join the list of enemies, the weight becomes too much... specially when there is a certain violent Fae king with a devious grin among those enemies 😈

👑 ~ I'm in love! What a delicious bloodthirsty little violent creature! 🥵 (little, violent, and empathic... like me!). Who needs magic when you can fight like that!
This book starts literarily by showing you how silently she carriers hers and other's burthens 😭
And when the Blood fae king, used to carry an entire kingdom on his shoulders (a burden he never wanted) shows up, enticing her to carry her load...😭 the mind-battle begins (psycho heroine-sunshine hero 😈)
Her father ("I come to parlay" 🤣) and her cousin are the most loving things! Damn Eva! You're fearless... it's almost scary!

🌎 ~ Urban dark and steamy fantasy romance with Witches, Warlocks, Shifters, Vampires, Beserkers, Fae, Demons (The Demon! 😱), Angels, Sirens... oh my word! A world where hybrids are creatures to be eradicated! Because they are the strongest 😈

📖 ~ You flew through the book.. again. The simple touches:: the fae use words that are no longer common 👌

Lows ~ Need Willow's book now! She is going to do what? Among who? 🤯 My poor psycho-baby!

This is the second book in the series and I was highly anticipating Naiya’s story. I love a morally grey female protagonist, especially coupled with a morally grey love interest! Naiya is half witch, half Fae, bloodthirsty warrior and she is much stronger than her fellow witch, Collette from the first book.

This brings battle, gore, dominance, and political intrigue like the first book. It has fated mates, enemies to lovers, hidden identities, breeding, and touch her and die.

The pacing really stalled my consumption of the book. I was super excited for the book, and usually that means I read a book in a day or two, but this took me four days. There were several typos and errors missed in editing. These are the types of issues that some readers are going to be less forgiving for as the series continues, especially if they’re reading the books back to back, so I hope this improves.

In the first book, Lifeblood, the love interest, Makhi, used “female” and “mate” was a lot. A lot. But I attributed that to Makhi as a character and I didn’t expect it to be a thing in this book too.

In “Hydrous,” the word “female” appears 336 times in this book. “Mate” appears 413. I was so annoyed at one point that I had to walk away. It was such a small thing, and I was really trying not to let it affect me, but it did. I just couldn’t get away from it. I think it was a big part as to why I didn’t swoon over the Fae King too. The nicknames just seemed to fit Makhi’s character more because he is so anti-social, but the Fae King is royalty and knows how to be charming - I didn’t forgive him for the repetition as much. If someone reads the books back to back, I think this might be an even bigger issue for some people too.

Overall, I enjoyed this and love Naiya as a character. She really made the majority of the book for me and I love how unapologetic she can be.

The author has an awesome imagination and I’m looking forward to more of the series arc to come and the strong, morally grey characters she writes! I can’t wait to see how Naiya and the gang fight back.

Hydrous By Amara Rae

10/5

Amara Rae has stolen my heart and soul again! Seriously, this woman can write! Hydrous is book 2 in the Immortal Coven series, it is just as addicting as book 1 (Lifeblood) and I absolutely lost sleep to binge read. This book is packed with fae, witches, action, violence, and all the 🌶
you could want! The key tropes are enemies to lovers and forced proximity.

Fin, The Blood King, is a pompous (I mean he is king) fae male. He is determined to get what he desires no matter who or what stands in the way. He hides all of his emotions behind an unreadable psychotic grin. He honestly could be thinking of all the ways to off someone, all the while smiling away. At first I wasn’t sure if I was going to like Fin, however he has this magnetism that draws in the reader, and before you know it you’ve got another book boyfriend. I literally looked up from my kindle and said, “When the F💜k did that happen?”

On the other hand, the female MC is Niaya. She is the head witch of her coven. Niaya is half water witch and half fae. Like Fin, she hides behind a mask, but instead of a psychotic grin, she wears a perpetual scowl. I love Niaya so much because she is so vicious, fierce, protective, not to mention skilled at combat. She does not allow herself to be afraid of her enemies. Meanwhile, on the inside she is a mess, she wants a break and someone to take care of her for a change.

Enter Fin, the domineering male inserts himself into Niaya’s life at the witches’ conclave. Niaya is terrified of him and wants nothing to do with him, but she’s SOL because she drew his eye. I really enjoyed watching them battle verbally and physically. The intimate scenes between them were so detailed, raw, and off the charts steamy!

Overall, I love Amara Rae! Her writing style is so detailed and she instantly builds an inferno in my soul while I am reading her books. I always binge-read every book and I am left with a massive book hangover. Hydrous was no different, and I highly recommend it to any dark PNR lovers (Read book 1, Lifeblood first) !

I liked book 1 better but I still enjoyed book 2. Book 1 the hero was more nuts and obsessed with the heroine than the fae hero in book 2.

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOLER

Heroine is half fae. Her secret dad (nobody knows it's him) is the prince of the Winter Kingdom. Her mate is the King of the Blood Kingdom and the 2 kingdoms are at war with each other and have been for many years.

Hero doesn't realize she is his mate at first because her dad put a fae spell of concealment on her. Hero is attacked and heroine breaks the spell to save his life. She has the power to "vaporize" fae.

Hero then makes an evil plan. He will mate her, get her pregnant, and once he does that their mate bond solidifies and he will have access to her power and then he will be very very powerful.

So he puts a mate mark on her while she is unconscious. She is mad but wakes up right after that to have sex. They both enjoy the sex. Hero likes tying her up and talking dirty to her.

Hero also pierces her...genitals. Heroine had her nipples pierced before she met the hero.

Hero also plans to have other kids with a full blood fae to be the heirs to the kingdom. So hero is a jerk.

Eventually her dad and the hero agree to team up. Heroine agrees to try and get pregnant so hero can kill her evil grandmother and her dad can take over the Winter Kingdom and end the war. Hero kills evil grandma, and brings heroine a vial of her ashes as a gift. Heroine thinks this is very romantic.

Heroine is pregnant and hero says it's a girl. Hero abdicates his throne so now his brother is king of Blood Kingdom, and hero goes to live at the witch coven with his pregnant heroine. Heroine is the leader of the witch coven. Hero makes friends with the warlock hero from book 1. Now 2 men live at the witch coven and try to keep the witches safe.

Guys remember how I said book 1 started slow? Well not this one! This book was fast paced with a lot of action and blood early on! It quickly enthralled me! I was ready for it!!
.
This one follows the vicious water witch coven leader in her journey against the elders and the challenge between herself and her new found fae dom King of Blood mate (who may be even more violent himself).
.
Neiya OMG she really is a twisted violent murderous little thing and I loved every second of it. It was a bit of surprise to me as she seemed more in control on the first book. Maybe I was just obliviously focused on Letty then?🤔
.
Our fae King Fin, I have no words... He had such an aggressive primal attitude, he takes what he wants, so dominant, like... there was so much spanking even my 🍑 is sore from reading😅.
.
This hybrid witchy coven is resilient and I enjoy seeing each of them come to their own and with that also strengthing the coven even more. I like that each books focuses on a coven sister finding ber HEA. However in this book we get to see more of the averarching plot that takes place through the series and I cannot wait to see the overall outcome! I am most interested in Cass story... please oh please let her finally breakthrough, loose her shit and deploy so much power it ends all wars! She desrves it... and maybe a hot little demon too?🤞
.
My only grudge with this book is I thought there was a window at the end where they could have gotten June back with leverage and they didn't.
.
Thank you Amara Rae for giving me this ARC in exchange of an honest review. I really enjoyed it and can't wait to read Willow's story next!🖤🔥

I’m completely fascinated by the name of this series, each book has an intriguing name and it defines the story perfectly. Each book tells you the story of a different witch but the world is the same and their main agenda in the background is the same, so I recommend reading it book-wise as it'll be easier to understand. This one is about Naiya and Finrador, of how they come across each other in very surprising events. The story is intense and the chemistry is irresistible.

Naiya is the Head Coven and a witch halffaeling whereas Fin is the Blood King, destiny will find itself even if you don’t do anything to uncover the facts or go in search of mates. The world-building is mostly done in LIFEBLOOD but we get to see more of the Elders and the Fae realm here. The writing is beautiful, facts are very enticing. The plot is gripping to its core, at one point I felt like kicking Fin but then after a few chapters, he came into his senses and becomes a more lovable character.

The intense nature of the characters is clearly visible but their faiths are misplaced in many ways which needed work and by the end, they come out with flying colours. The pacing of the story is perfect with the plot going on and keeps you on your toes. I loved the ending and how a PUNCH was delivered. A must-witchy read.

It’s a 4.5⭐️ for me.

TW/ Tropes: sexual nature, dubious consent, explicit language, graphic violence, bloodplay, breeding, and piercing, enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, fated mates, a dirty-talking and psycho-sunshine hero, and a grumpy warrior heroine

Naiya is her covens leader. She has many responsibilities and pressure on her shoulders. Her coven also has many enemies because they are all hybrids. She herself is part witch and part winter fae.

Finrador is the blood Fae king. He has many duties which he hold to be president over all else.

They are both bloodthirsty, strong and a bit crazy. They are also just what they other needs.

I loved the characters. Naiya is amazing. She is so strong and I love her!!🥰 Finrador thank goodness had very good character development and was very possessive and protective of Naiya as was she to him🥰

I am coming to love this series!!! There is paranormal romance, 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️, character growth and action! I loved seeing Naiya being able to lower some of her walls and be able to lean on someone and grow as a leader☺️ Now Finrador had very good character growth, because in the beginning I couldn’t stand him. Like he really made me mad. But towards the end I started to like him because he was Naiya’s safe place. Also because he in the end, held Naiya above all else. As he should! I loved how their crazy matched each other’s perfectly!!!🫶🏼

This series is just amazing 🤩, love these witches !! After Colette's kidnapping, the Coven is still in conflict with the Witch Council. Naiya is the head of the hybrid coven, and she’s truly bloodthirsty, fierce and a great leader.
It’s an enemies to lovers story, Naiya tries to stay hidden from her father's people the Fae but the Witches Council decides to give the information of her existence to Finrador the Blood King who needs her to find his mate.

Just like Colette’s mate, Finrador is definitely not sane 😂 but that’s why I love this sérieux those men are crazy, bloodthirsty but as soon as they realise that they’re their mate, they become possessive, relentless and crazy for them.
The bond between the character is well made, there is tension due to Naiya's origins. What I love the most, is that Naiya is a complex character who’s scared for her coven, she’s not as confident as she wants people to know, she was traumatised by the event around her mother's death. We can see an evolution of her character and it’s lovely.

Know Willow is next 😍 little fire witch with fire in her blood.

I read the second part of the Immortal Coven, Hydrous by Amara Rae.

I fell in love with the series while reading Lifeblood. Hydrous just goes towards strengthening the relationship. Naiya and Finrador's story is divided into two worlds that are very different and yet similar to each other.

One of the best things about Naiya and Finrador is the ferocity of their bond. Despite the changes they bring about in themselves, their love is so violent that it is sexy beyond measure.

The mere snippets of information in the book regarding the other coven sisters are making me very jumpy with excitement. The Epilogues of the books keep me going. Each one is a tempting treat for the next book. The war is at hand and I can’t wait to read it.

Witches and Warlocks and Fae, oh my!

I've always had a soft spot for fictional men with pointed ears and blood lust (is that wrong?) and this book did not disappoint in that department.

Beginning a few months after the events in Lifeblood, Hydrous is a wonderful story of two leaders who put the people they love most before themselves and in the process, they find love in each other.

There are many words I could use to describe Naiya's story but the one word that stood out most in my mind was trust.

Being the Head of her coven has taken its toll on the water witch Naiya. However, when she meets Finrador, the King of the Blood Fae, something that has been locked deep inside her breaks free.

Finrador knew there was something alluring about the tiny witch the minute he laid eyes on her but he didn't understand just how deeply that attraction ran until her full power is released.

It's a beautiful read with a heart stopping storyline and crazy spicy scenes.

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
POV: Dual 1st Person
M/F
Genre: Dark Romantic Urban Fantasy
Stand Alone? No. While each couples story is complete the series has an ongoing integral backstory and is best read in order.

Amara Rae has done it again with another book I couldn’t get enough of! Unlike book one (which required a world building beginning for understanding of the story) book two went right into the adventure.

It was captivating, it was thrilling and it was hot 🥵 as all get out. I am so fully invested in this coven and their future! Not just on the romance level either (which is usually where my
Main focus lies).

This story pulls you in and wraps you up until all you want is the next page, then the next, then the next. It is one of those books you’ll gladly take a book hangover for and read all night, then mourn the ending.

I can’t wait to read the next one! ❤️

This book was so good once I got into it. It took a few chapters to really get into the story but once I did, it was amazing. Fin is so so yummy. He is cocky and knows he is not a good guy but doesn’t care one bit. I love a good morally grey guy that just does what he wants no matter who judges him. Poor Naiya has been through so much and just seems to be getting the bad end of the deal everytime. She is one strong female though, that is for sure. I get why her father did what he did but at the same time…how rude! In the end, these two find their happy ending and get to shove it to the Elders and hopefully take them down. Those Elders leaders need to be taken down and Naiya and her clan are the ones to do it. I need to read the next book to see how it goes down because now im so invested in this clan so much.

In this book we follow the story of the coven leader naiya and the fae king fin.
When the coven are called to conclave in front of the other heads Naiya becomes more and more closed in on herself because of the belief that she must solve everything alone to be a good leader. fin is a fae who loves violence and was invitaded bye the elders to see the Challenger , he was drawn to nai from the moment he saw her kill in the Challenge. Their relationship, with their love of violence, helps them find a greater purpose for themselves and in FMC's case, to understand that accepting help doesn't make her weak. please read content warnings before reading
