“In the golden years of Hollywood there were real movie stars. Those movie stars had mystery and magic about them. And the people mostly loved them and were fascinated by them and their talent when they watched their performances at the cinema. Those Hollywood movie stars did not do too many interviews for publicity. They therefore retained those elements of mystery and wonder.

Then came television. And the celebrities started to become more accessible to the public. They shared more about their lives, their opinions, and their families. Audiences started to mould how they wanted their acting stars to perform and behave in their public and private lives. Thus, the great movies and acting mostly ended at the end of the 1960s, as did the fascination with the great movie stars.


Things got even worse with the arrival of reality TV. Though reality TV was itself a fake concept because the shows were staged and scripted, actors could entertain and be admired by the masses simply by sharing their common daily routines and relationship interactions. Those actors had a small amount of talent but a disproportionate amount of fame. And the people started to realise that fame was a bit of a fake power or gift. And that they the common people (for want of a better term) were just like the new breed of celebrities, the only difference was that the common people did not have their fame and fortune. The magic and mystique of actors had ended.


Then came the internet content creators. At this point the talent had become completely replaced by their fame. In other words, there was no talent, just the fame. A very famous person would make their fortunes simply by doing a little dance, showing a bit of cleavage, showing how they cleaned their teeth, what they ate for dinner that day, and so on.


In conclusion, increased communication with mediums such as television and the internet has served to not only make all citizens around the world far more homogenised, but it has also served to diminish creative art and artistic individuality and uniqueness, because the crowd or cloud of common people decide not only what they want but also what is normal and moral.”
