Fiona Thrust
“To feel aroused is to feel alive. Having great sex is like taking in huge lungfuls of fresh air, essential to your body, essential to your health, and essential to your life.”
Fiona Thrust, Naked and Sexual

“The gut is the seat of all feeling. Polluting the gut not only cripples your immune system, but also destroys your sense of empathy, the ability to identify with other humans. Bad bacteria in the gut creates neurological issues. Autism can be cured by detoxifying the bellies of young children. People who think that feelings come from the heart are wrong. The gut is where you feel the loss of a loved one first. It's where you feel pain and a heavy bulk of your emotions. It's the central base of your entire immune system. If your gut is loaded with negative bacteria, it affects your mind. Your heart is the seat of your conscience. If your mind is corrupted, it affects your conscience. The heart is the Sun. The gut is the Moon. The pineal gland is Neptune, and your brain and nervous system (5 senses) are Mercury. What affects the moon or sun affects the entire universe within. So, if you poison the gut, it affects your entire nervous system, your sense of reasoning, and your senses.”
Suzy Kassem, Rise Up and Salute the Sun: The Writings of Suzy Kassem

Diana Gabaldon
“Blessed are those who eat greens, for they shall keep their teeth. Blessed are those who wash their hands after wiping their arses, for they shall not sicken. Blessed are those who boil water, for they shall be called saviors of mankind.”
Diana Gabaldon, The Fiery Cross

Rachel Hollis
“You need to be healthy. You don’t need to be thin. You don’t need to be a certain size or shape or look good in a bikini. You need to be able to run without feeling like you’re going to puke. You need to be able to walk up a flight of stairs without getting winded. You need to drink half your body weight in ounces of water every single day. You need to stretch and get good sleep and stop medicating every ache and pain. You need to stop filling your body with garbage like Diet Coke and fast food and lattes that are a million and a half calories. You need to take in fuel for you body that hasn't been processed and fuel for you mind that is positive and encouraging. You need to get up off the sofa or out of the bed and move around. Get out of the fog that you have been living in and see your life for what it is.”
Rachel Hollis, Girl Wash your Face

Remove anger, regret, resentment, guilt, blame, and worry.
Then watch your health, and life, improve.”

“Standing at the edge of my fears
And contemplating them
Is a healthy exercise.
The extent of the boundaries
Of who I believe myself to be.

What is in question as I stand
Safely at the border of myself
And think of leaping
Or continuing on?

What happens when I walk
To the extent of "I"
And then keep walking?
Who am I then?”
Eric Overby, Senses

Louis Yako
“[A Long Life]
This famous writer died
at ninety-two.
That veteran journalist,
cherished by the authorities
and the establishment press,
died
at ninety-five.
That devout clergyman
passed away
at nearly ninety-six.
The celebrated billionaire,
founder of countless companies
and charitable foundations,
also died
at ninety-six.
And that former president,
that seasoned statesman,
died
at ninety-three.
Yet the same questions
have echoed in my ears
ever since I first became aware
of the corruption,
injustice,
and cruelty
of the powerful
and all they do
to the world:
Can those who truly see
and understand
the horror of what is happening
live a long life?
Is it merely a coincidence
that so many of the writers,
artists,
and thinkers
who deepened my awareness
and enlarged my world
died before their time,
by their own hand,
in prison,
or by assassination,
literal or otherwise?
Can even a grain of awareness
enter us
without wearing down
body and soul,
cell by cell,
organ by organ,
until we die
long before our time?
And I wonder:
Did the wealthy writers,
journalists,
clergymen,
and politicians
who lived so long
serve truth
and honesty?
Did they change
our wretched human condition?
Or did they enrich themselves
at its expense,
and thus live
to ninety-two,
ninety-three,
ninety-four,
ninety-five,
and ninety-six?
And my greatest question is this:
Is there,
somewhere,
in some world,
in some sense,
a dagger of awareness
that can pierce
without killing
the wounded
before their time?
