From where should I begin? There are so many things about this book I coul 5 stars for From Lukov with Love " These two shits suck but I love them."
From where should I begin? There are so many things about this book I could talk right now. I absolutely loved, cherished, adored and enjoyed this book. I was so entertained by the banter and their bickering. I fell in love with Mariana Zapata when I first read Dear Aaron last year. I loved her other books as well and now I want to read the other three ones I haven't read. I'm a huge fan of Slow burn romance and no one writes better than Mariana Zapata. She is the queen of slow burn romance. She has the amazing talent to keep the readers engrossed in her books despite the length of it. It takes a very loooooooooooong time to something happen between them but it's the worth the wait. Believe me, it is.
I always enjoy the enemies to lovers story but I find this one special to me. The relationship between Jasmine and Ivan isn't the usual one you read in most of the books. Their way of confessing their love is unique and they both suck at it. You actually see them understand each other, see them fall in love.
I loved everything about this book, their family, their conversations, their flaws, their banter and their figure skating. .EVERYTHING.
I laughed countless times while reading but the Epilogue..... it was just so emotional and cute. "You don't get to become good at anything without sacrificing something to make time."
“Love to me was honesty. Being real. Knowing someone's best and worst. Love was a push that said someone believed in you when you didn't.” I LOVE YOU MZ I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK. GO READ IT ...more
5 STARS The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata is GREAT. If you have read anything by her then you know what I mean by great. She’s absolutely a5 STARS The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata is GREAT. If you have read anything by her then you know what I mean by great. She’s absolutely an amazing writer. Once you start reading the book her words captures your mind and hypnotizes you. You completely lose yourself in it. Just like I did but her books are a slooooooooww burn romance. Many people dislike slow burn romance but readers like me love to devour it. It makes it feel more real. In MZ’S books Romance takes place after a long time like seriously after a long but this isn’t a bad thing. You see how the characters build a relationship, how they form it from scattered pieces into a solid one. My first read from MZ was Dear Aaron which was released this year. I loved that one too and since then I'm in #TeamZapata. She quickly made her place in my top favorite authors.
Aiden and Vanessa aren’t exactly enemies but they aren’t best friends either. I won’t say this is an enemies to lovers book coz they are not enemies. Vanessa is Aiden’s assistant who is rude, doesn’t talk much and doesn’t even know how to say Thanks and Good morning. But things change and Aiden after a month is in a condition where only Vanessa can help. She calls it quits after two years of hard work, after being ignored from Aiden. After a month later Vanessa finds Aiden on her door step looking like a lost puppy.
I'm not gonna say anything else cos SPOILERS.
You know the book has totally encircled your heart and mind when you think of the characters, their conversation while doing anything. Aiden and Vanessa were on my mind while I washed the dishes, while I did my work, even when I was showering. These are type of books you remember for years. I easily connected with the character. Fell in love with them within the first 10 pages. I highly recommend it but if you like quick love, romance and then happy ending, this isn’t for you. *“The only people in the world who can hurt you are those you let have that ability, Van.” *When life gives you lemons, you get to choose what you make out of them; it doesn’t always have to be lemonade.” *Home is where you are. I would go anywhere for you if you wanted me there.” *“When I was a kid, I learned the hard way how expensive the truth was. Sometimes it cost you people in your life. Sometimes it cost you things in your life. And in this life, most people were too cheap to pay the price for something as valuable as honesty.” ...more
Mariana Zapata is one of those authors whose book I'll pick without any doubt. If she were to simply scribble something d 5 STARS FOR HOT HOT KULTI
Mariana Zapata is one of those authors whose book I'll pick without any doubt. If she were to simply scribble something down on a paper then throw it away, I'd pick it out of the trash to read it. If you have been my friend on Goodreads for a while then you must have known that I love slow burn romance and I FREAKING LOVE Mariana Zapata. Kulti is a slow burn and a beautiful romance between Sal and her soccer coach who happened to be her childhood crush as well. It wasn't easy for Sal in the beginning because her crush doesn't give a shit about her. But gradually these two become friends and by gradually i mean very very very slowly. I loved everything about this book. the banter, the poop jokes and those food names. If you love slow burn, sports romance and age gaps then this book is for you. It really took me some time to finish but it was worth it. Although I loved the epilogue i felt like it was incomplete, like it should have been more in detail. So my Goodreads friend Kristen shared me the link of the extended epilogue which Mariana Zapata wrote on her website and it absolutely quenched my thirst I had for the epilogue.
“Destiny is a ladder, a series of steps that takes you where you’re supposed to go.” “Eyes up here, Taco.”
