If you're a fan of the author like me, you can't help but love this sweet and intense story, the kind of story she has the secret to. I love the way she shows the evolution of feelings, her protagonists who fall in love and make us fall in love with them at the same time. I immediately liked Charli and Rhys. I am at an age where I read less romances with teenage heroes, because my own adolescence seems far away, but I knew that with this author, I would have no problem entering into the story of these two very touching young people. The story is presented in two parts. I particularly liked the first one. Charli doesn't have a supermodel body, Rhys doesn't have a great set of abs, and yet they are immediately attracted to each other because they immediately see each other's beauty. A beauty not perfect by standards but perfect for them, because that's what's most important. As a result, Rhys isn't cocky, which I appreciated. They have friends, they party, but they both have a certain shyness. More Rhys than Charli. Charli is shy about her body but she doesn't hesitate to speak her mind, she is honest and intelligent. Rhys is slightly more reserved, which can be explained by his difficult life. Our hero made me shed a few tears. He is a lovely, selfless and courageous boy. Both have their own wounds but his are particularly deep and have lasted forever. I found him very realistic in his behavior both with Charli and with his family problems. He's just a boy who survives and does his best, and even though he already has this protective side in him, he's not a superhero, not in the sense that he wants to be. His plans to rebuild himself, to recover his self-esteem, to feel stronger, are completely understandable. Charli will bring him something new in his life: love, but not only that. Among handsome guys, she saw only him, and he needed such attention. He needed to be loved by a girl who gives him confidence but above all who understands him, with whom he can open up. Charli is more confident, but she found her soul mate in Rhys. Their relationship evolves smoothly, naturally. We know from the start of the reading that something will separate them, so I spent my time wondering what or who will separate them. LH Cosway added several supporting characters who could play this role, not to mention that their story has an end date from the start since Charli is only in Ireland for the summer. I found it very clever, my brain was constantly buzzing, asking questions. I don't know if it was intentional on her part, but it worked that way for me. The separation made me cry of course, yet it is logical. The second part takes place sixteen years later. Our protagonists had one life before the separation, and another after. Two very different lives, where the roles have been reversed, which is a very nice idea. Rhys found what he was looking for, he is stronger, more confident. Charli, on the other hand, has been through hell. She returns to Ireland to create a new, happier life, on good foundations, far from the source of her nightmares. She hasn't been broken, but she's not the same anymore. She moved me enormously. I admired her greatly for her courage. The author knows how to play with our emotions, she knows how to control them, which I also admire a lot. Charli's family is amazing. Every single one of them. She's lucky to have them, they helped her rebuild herself, even if Rhys was her main source of strength. She can always count on him and he is incredibly patient and generous. He agrees to be the tool of her healing without expecting anything in return. But Charli is stronger than she thinks and once again the roles are reversed. They are really made to understand each other. New secondary characters try to put obstacles in their way, their relationship evolves smoothly again. Although the feelings never went away. These two mirrored parts are ingenious. And of course, we smile at the happy ending. Charlie and Rhys so deserve their happy ending after everything they've been through and all these years separated from the love of their lives. The author offers us more than a story of summer fling or second chances. She shows us the impact of an encounter, the impact of sincere love, she offers us a story of resilience, of victories over suffering. I also really appreciate that her characters need to look for their strength within themselves, because we should not always rely on others to solve everything, it is important to know of our own value, to know how to defend ourselves. Self-esteem is important. Quiet Longing is a wonderful love story, with a wonderful writing and wonderful characters. I recommend it to you! Thank you LH Cosway for the ARC, thank you for your trust and your generosity.

This time, she offers us a realistic, addictive, exciting and of course romantic dystopian romance. Knowing her passion for human nature in its extremes, I expected more violence, but I was pleasantly surprised that she avoided some clichés that are already overused. She does what she does best: looking for the motivations of humans, digging into their personality, finding their flaws and qualities, showing how an extreme situation brings out their true nature. In this novel, we discover Tuck, who after difficult events made bad choices. As well as Emilie, his childhood friend, his first crush, the one he liked to argue with and whom he liked listening singing. We find them years later, Emily is a professional singer at the beginning of her career but already famous, Tuck seeks to create a new life for himself. He ends up becoming the bodyguard of the beautiful Emilie. Reluctantly on both sides. Resentment, tension, unspoken things... The reunion is complicated. But it's nothing compared to what awaits them: a cataclysmic solar flare that disrupts the electrical grid. The world changes in a second, chaos is here, everyone wants to understand and tries to survive. Our protagonists therefore set off on a road trip full of surprises, good and bad, with encounters, good and bad. They have one adventure after another, it's impossible for the reader to get bored! I followed them with curiosity and apprehension and above all I was fascinated. I watch all the post-apocalyptic and dystopian movies and TV shows that come out, I love it. And there I felt like I was in a movie, watching the characters and the landscapes, seeing them on the road. A real success! Of course, Mia didn't just work on this new world, she also offers us a magnificent love story. Emily has a slightly naive and capricious side, a little superficial perhaps. But deep down, she is a beautiful person who suffered from Tuck's departure, who fought to make her dreams come true, who is capable of fighting for the people she loves as well for strangers. Tuck is more realistic, more serious. They did not have the same life. But more than anything, he is a man capable of anything to redeem what he believes to be his faults. His need for redemption is his driving force and his handicap. When their world changes, his priority is to keep Emily safe and all their adventures end up bringing them closer together. They rediscover each other, they find the one they loved to argue with, their friend. They find in each other an ally. They were meant to be together, nothing can separate soul mates forever, not even the end of the world as we know it. This novel shows us how the worst events bring out the worst and the best in humans, but also how they remind them of the essential. They remind them that they can have more strength and courage than they imagine, that sometimes you have to think only of yourself and sometimes help each other. This novel is about forgiveness, resilience, hope and love. And it is written by an author with extraordinary sensitivity and incredible talent. I highly recommend it!...more
