This fairly quick read makes for a pleasant way to spend an afternoon. Mary and Henry are interesting and likeable characters, who get their HEA. The villain is very easy to dislike! I would enjoy reading a book about him and how this experience affected him. I would read more from author Lorana Hoopes. I received a complimentary copy and am sharing my opinion of this romance....more

If the Boot Fits is a story of not only a wonderful romance between the main characters, Samantha and Asher, but also one of assuming the worst of people and their motives. And then the reader get to see the characters grow, learn, forgive, and develop strong relationships. I love the devotion Asher had for his step-mother and his brothers and what he was willing to do to help them. The mystery of who is out to get Samantha made the story even more interesting. Author Karen Witemeyer's writing style flows well making her story easy and enjoyable to read. The descriptions set the scene well and help move the plot along. The dialogue and actions and faith of the characters feel natural. I would definitely be interested in reading more of the Texas Ever After series and more from this author. I highly recommend this book to readers of clean and of Christian historical western romances and of mysteries. Even if it's not your usual genre, give If the Boot Fits a try, I think you'll find it a perfect fit. I received a complimentary copy through NetGalley from the publisher and am sharing my opinion of this extremely well-written book....more

I enjoy books featuring a different sibling and his/her romance per book. The Jagger family has been a fun one. The amnesia plot was interesting. I was happy to go back to Cowboy Crossing with the Irish cowboy brothers. Sean is the last of the brothers to be single. His protective instinct goes into high gear when he finds Courtney beaten and unconscious. Unfortunately, due to her past she is determined to be independent. I enjoyed the strong family bond shared by the McNeill family and how the sisters-in-law reached out to include Courtney. I loved reading about the faith of the family and reading about Courtney's faith journey. The plot has twists and turns that I didn't see coming. I would recommend this book to clean and Christian romance readers, to romance readers that like a touch of suspense, to lovers of all things cowboy, and to those enjoy reading about Christmas traditions. I would definitely read more by author Alexa Verde and feel very comfortable recommending her to family and friends. I received a complimentary copy and am sharing my opinion of this very well-written book....more

The characters are engaging, and I enjoyed the romance between these two mature adults and the little bit of suspense in the story. I loved the support that Chaz and Margie received from their children and from Chaz's brother and sister-in-law for their romance. There's a great proposal scene. Christmastime at Redemption Ridge sounds like a great vacation. I would recommend this book to readers of Christian romance, to readers of clean romance, to those who love all things Christmas, and to those that enjoy stories with a western setting. I would read more from author Elle E. Kay and more in this multi-author series. I received a complimentary copy and am sharing my opinion of this delightful, well-written book....more

Elizabeth, An Unforgettable Love is an enjoyable fairly quick read. Carl, not caring for the single women in town, decides to get a mail-order bride. Elizabeth, in a horrible situation after her father dies, sees Carl's ad as a way to escape. I truly liked both of these characters, even though they aren't perfect. I enjoyed reading about their faith and how they each get back on track with it. Author Lorana Hoopes writes in such a way that you feel that icy rain, those feelings of being watched, and the pain of being rejected by friends. You also get to feel the strength that Elizabeth feels from holding Carl's hand, the welcome from the pastor and the sewing circle, and the thrill of kissing her husband. There's some mystery and suspense that adds to the story. I would recommend this 3rd book in the Sage Creek Saga to readers of clean and of Christian historical romance. I received a complimentary copy and am sharing my opinion of this well-written story....more

Captivated by Steph has both main characters having grieved for five years for his best friend and her husband. The book deals with grief well and also with going on with life. I liked both Blake and Steph and found them to be believable characters. I've enjoyed the other books in the Stargazer Springs Ranch series, but reading them is not necessary to appreciate this one. I highly recommend this well-written book to clean romance readers and to readers that enjoy a bit of a western touch to their stories. They made themselves into a family and have not lost touch even though they're all adults now. Arianna feels worthless and unlovable because that's what she was told by her biological family. Kieran was raised in a loving family with brothers who deeply care for each other. Author Alexa Verde does a great job of writing the perfect romance for this seemingly mismatched couple. Add in an adorable niece and a grumpy teenaged nephew and try to make a family out of that? The author does that very well also. There are some suspenseful parts that I particularly enjoyed. I strongly recommend this inspirational romance to readers of clean romance, to Christian romance readers, and to those that like a western flavor to their romances. I got my copy through KU....more

The main characters are developed in depth and are truly likeable, and their actions are believable. Author Jody Hedlund touches on the times-how a former slave-owner treated his slaves and one incident that showed how Native Americans were treated by some of the citizens of the small town. She includes little historical tidbits, like how a canvas coat was "painted with linseed oil to make it wind and water resistant." She does both of these without slowing the plot down. She also is more forthright about physical desire and the great discipline required to not act on it than are many other authors of Christian romance. There are some sizzling kisses between Savannah and Brody, but that is all. I would feel very comfortable recommending this book to teens as well as adults.. The character's faith or lack thereof is displayed naturally through the story line. There is an HEA for our main characters and their story has a solid ending. The last chapter focuses on Brody's sister Ivy and sets up her story which I'm assuming will be the next book. Jody Hedlund is a new-to-me author, and one that I would definitely read more from. The main characters as well as many of the supporting characters are very likeable. The plot has some twists and turns that I didn't expect. Some of it is disturbing to read although there are very few gory details. Jennifer Uhlarik told a difficult story without giving me nightmares. I enjoyed reading about Emma maturing from that spoiled young woman that she started out being and about Clay's sense of duty. Reading about their faith and one particular scene of God working miraculously in their lives was a joy. There were definitely surprises in the plot, and there were no slow spots in the book. The end had a real twist. If you like clean historical crime stories with faith and romance, this is the book for you. Jennifer Uhlarik is a new author to me, and I will be on the lookout for more of her books. I have enjoyed all of the books that I've had the privilege to read in the True Colors series. Danae Little has written a book that touched my heart and helped me understand the other side of an issue. I loved both of the main characters. While not perfect, both Dallas and Courtney are good-hearted. And Dallas's daughter Rebecca is the most adorable little cowgirl around. I couldn't help falling for her. The faith of all three of these characters are in very different places, and I enjoyed reading about the changes that took place throughout the story. There is a fantastic HEA for these three. The plot had a twist that I had not seen coming and that added a great deal of emotion to the book. The pacing of the book is just right, and the dialogue flows smoothly. I would highly recommend this book to clean/wholesome romance readers, Christian romance readers, and rodeo fans. I look forward to the next book in the Faithful Cowboys series. Remi Carrington develops both characters well throughout their backwards relationship. There's clever banter between Ava and Mad Dog. His pursuit of her is incredibly thoughtful. The only reservation that I had about the book was a decision that Mad Dog made at the end. It did not concern the romance. There's a great HEA for this couple. The main and supporting characters are well-developed and heart-warming. The villain of the story isn't all bad. There's a nice nuance about him. The plot had some twists that I did not see coming, but I was very happy with the ending of the book even if it wasn't quite what I expected. There is an HEA for Faith and Decker, and Decker, I mean author Sophia Summers, nails the proposal scene. It's perfect!
