The plot in Seaside Cowboy's Forget-Me-Not had twists within twists. Be prepared for a roller coaster of a ride as they are unwound. Harris and his brothers are great examples of what sibling relationships should be. Pat is a likeable, but complex character. There were several quotes in the book that stood out to me. "But sometimes, like unforgiveness, doubt can also become a poison we keep drinking." And also this quote, "But this resentment inside screamed it was all a lie and he'd been drinking the poison, letting it corrode him. He was like a tractor rusted from the constant rain of suppressed anger, dented from the hail of denial, and ready to fall apart." Author Alexa Verde writes an absorbing story with truth for real life sprinkled throughout. I would recommend this book to family and friends without hesitation and would definitely read more from this author. I received a complimentary copy and am sharing my opinion of this well-written addition to the Seaside Cowboys series....more

Bradley Jacob is the boss of Ascent, Inc. and has OCD. Emma is employed at the company and has ADHD. Talk about opposites! These definitely are attracted to each other, but are best friends and afraid to mess up their relationship and don't feel worthy of the other. Both characters are very likeable and had me rooting for their relationship. The inner dialogue is absolutely hilarious. The mountain climbing scenes are intense! The kisses are sizzling. There's an HEA that is perfect for this couple. I would definitely read more by author Sara Blackard. I recommend this to readers of clean and of Christian romance, to readers that are in love with Alaska and/or mountain climbing, and to romantic comedy readers. I received a complimentary copy and am sharing my opinion of this fantastic book!...more

Both Ed and Maggie had some things in their lives that needed changing before they were ready for a serious relationship. I love Ed's determination and his patience. Maggie's creativity is very interesting to me and her care for others is inspiring. Autumn Macarthur is very adept at weaving faith into the story. Reading the British English glossary at the end was fun for me. I recommend this to readers of clean romance and of Christian romance and to those who enjoy stories about finding love later in life....more

It's good to return to Sweet Apple Falls although it is not necessary to have read the other books in the series to enjoy this one. Tom and Rusty (Rebecca) are life-like characters with real problems and not always the best answers or attitudes towards them. I like how these characters are developed throughout the book. I enjoyed reading about their faith and how they applied it to their issues. Forgiveness was a big one. I recommend this to clean/wholesome romance readers, readers that enjoy small-town romances, and readers of Christian romance. I received a complimentary copy and am sharing my opinion of this clean and tender romance....more

For those who are concerned about the title, please be assured that Monica's desire has to do with her professional life. There is NO sleazy factor here. Monica and Carlos have a rocky start. He has some past issues that make accepting her difficult. I loved the honest reactions that Monica has in a suspenseful scene and loved even more when she realizes how her faith should cause her to react. Carlos's little sister, Luisa, is a charmer. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious. This is a heartwarming tale whose characters and their stories quickly pulled me into the book and kept me there through the very end. Because of their pasts, Poppy becomes prickly to keep people away, and Rhett becomes a stickler for doing things the right way. They clash--a lot. There are some very tender moments in the book as they deal with Beth, a sweet woman with Down's Syndrome. (Ms. Patch handled this so well.) Beth's childlike faith and love have a remarkable effect on Poppy and Rhett. I would recommend this book to family and friends. In fact, I bought a copy for my mother to read. ...more

It flows well and makes reading the story easy. There is no having to go back to understand something, and the characters are unique enough to keep straight without any problem. Rachel shows character growth, but I wasn't crazy about her. She seemed confused about her feelings and manipulative although I think she truly wanted what was best for her friends. Dave was very good-natured about all of Rachel's schemes. In spite of my hesitations about Rachel, I enjoyed reading Something Unexpected and would recommend it to clean/wholesome romance readers. Cat and Roberto both carry a lot of baggage from events in their past, but both are living in an admirable manner. Roberto's daughter Gianna is one of the cutest little matchmakers that you'll ever meet. With her, a cousin or two, the adults in the family, and God; Roberto and Cat get their HEA. I enjoyed catching up on the characters in earlier Cowboy Crossing Romance books; but don't worry, this is a stand-alone story. The plot has some unexpected twists and moves along at a good pace. I didn't have the villain picked out. Ms. Verde writes in an easy-to-read style and her dialogue flows smoothly. She handles domestic abuse situations well. She is frank about the effects of the abuse without being too graphic with its description. I highly recommend this if you read clean/wholesome, inspirational, or cowboy romances and to those readers that like a little suspense in their romance. Mac and his best friend Ana are complete opposites in their approach to the next thing in life, but even so they are lifelong best friends even after being parted as children. Living in the same area now could possibly change that relationship. I liked Mac's Marine buddies and how Mac helped a young Marine with family problems. Even though the story deals with the bad marriages of Mac's and Ana's parents and how it affected them, I found it a lot of fun to read. I definitely plan to read more of the Kailua Marines series and other works by Jess Mastorakos. To find out the truth he has to spend time with her. Both characters are likable, but definitely not perfect. Caleb's grandmother adds so much to the story. Don't think elderly woman in a rocking chair, but older woman in her home's chemistry lab. The plot has some twists and moves along at a good pace. One of my favorite lines in the book, "Ty Dooley held on to the dog leash, trying to keep his distance from the Norwegian elkhound, who shed worse than a feather-filled pillow with a hole in it." Does that not just paint a picture for you? Another favorite was "He (Caleb) was a champion with an endless pedigree while she (Becca) was a mutt without a collar." That just gives a perfect look at how far apart Becca views herself and Caleb. There's a great HEA and an epilogue. This well-written book has characters that are so well-fleshed out that you feel like you could pick up the phone and call them to have a chat. I found myself rooting for them sometimes and cringing for them at other times. Kade and Heather both carry baggage all the way from their childhood and sometimes that causes them to react in ways that are less than productive for their relationship. The one thing that they know that they have in common is their love for Landon, Kade's son and Heather's nephew. Although there are bumps along the way, there is an extraordinary HEA. There are also several great humorous scenes sprinkled throughout the book. Kayla and Troy seem like an unlikely couple at first, but I was definitely rooting for them to become one fairly quickly in the story. They are both likable characters, but not perfect. I enjoyed reading about their faith, which just flows naturally in the story. There are several possible suspects that could be Kayla's attacker. I did not have one picked out for almost all of the book. The plot has twists and turns and moves at a good pace. The epilogue ties things up well and contains a great HEA that made me smile. I like Mandi Blake's writing style and find it easy to read. There were many, many things that I liked about the book: Tori and Marcus were well-developed and likable, Tori's close relationship with her mom, Marcus's love, care, and protection of his younger siblings, observing Tori coming to a saving faith in Christ, Marcus's chivalry, and Tori's determination, plus others; but I don't want to give plot spoilers. My problems with the book are theological. I don't think Christians should start a romantic relationship with unbelievers. Also, Tori's divorce is made out to be kind of a good thing because it got her to her soulmate. With those caveats, I recommend the book to clean/wholesome romance readers and to Christian romance readers. There's a great HEA and an epilogue. I received a complimentary copy. The main characters, Ezekiel and Bekah, are likable and fully developed. The supporting characters, the pastor and his wife, are portrayed as loving, caring, and faithful. The children in the story are endearing. There are themes of the importance of family, of reconciliation, and of faith. The only drawback to the book is that Ezekiel, a believer, is in a romantic relationship with Bekah, who has not accepted Christ. There is never a mention of this being a problem. Even Ezekiel's pastor father approves. Although Bekah draws closer to God throughout the story, she never makes a decision to become a Christian. If you're okay with that or can overlook it for the sake of a great read, I would recommend this book to you. I did enjoy reading it. Tayla Alexandra knows how to pull her readers into the story.
