Safa is one of my favorite writers, and an author everyone should watch out for. This story in particular is as fun as it is adorable, and hits you right in the feels. Beautiful prose and diaspora rep, and the swooniest romance. Don't miss it!

I mean, I've always had a thing for books centering around the arts in some regard, but there's something so very special about an author who can make you *feel* the music on the page without your hearing a sound. And Jess is phenomenal at this.
The lyrics. THE LYRICS.
The Glitter Bats (what a clever name, right?) are SO full of charm. I'm not sure how someone could pick up this book and not absolutely adore each and every one of them.
I loved Val so much--I felt so close to her passion--and I love how we could FEEL the history between her and Caleb between the lines of every page, before we even know it in full. There's so much wound up tension and hurt, and of course I was churning through pages SO FAST to see what becomes of them. One thing I especially loved, though, was seeing how they had already grown so much through the years (especially with communication), so that when they reconnect, it really is a different experience. Like, so many books that do this trope do it in such a way that the years have barely changed the main characters. But this? It's excellent. And yet there's still that glorious thread of tension.
Anyway, I never really reveal plot points in my reviews, but I needed to scream about all the beauty that is this book, and believe me when I say you need to own a copy. (And like, come on, that cover? It might be my favorite romance cover in the history of ever.

HOW WAS IT SO SATISFYING ON EVERY LEVEL??
How is the writing still the most beautiful, lush, exquisite thread of words ever?
As usual, I don't want to give much away, but suffice it to say that Thea is incredible and managed to stock this book full of as much tension as it is feels. The balance of hate and love between Alaric and Talasyn is beautifully done. Their relationship and romance is not a linear one, but it's so raw and effortless (to their great dismay) and it's handled beautifully and with nuance. But I particularly love that the world building does not suffer, nor does the quality of the story, even though this is largely intimate with their relationship taking center stage.
It's everything I wanted from Reylo but so much more. I love this series dearly.

Honestly, the concept alone is gold: a fallen god trying to earn his way back into his brother's good graces by capturing the scarlet fox, who happens to be right under his nose? What a recipe for tension, and it's such a fun ride. Hani (the gumiho/Scarlett Fox) was SUCH a delight. I loved her way of prying underneath Seokga's skin. The banter is excellent. And I loved seeing Seokga slowly melt beneath her, until...
Until.
I'm a huge kdrama lover, and this felt like so many of my favorite ones, while still holding its own. (OKAY BUT NETFLIX CAN YOU PLEASE ADAPT??)
Anyway, this one gets a resounding "yes" from me! I didn't want it to end! And more from Sophie Kim immediately, please!...more

Oh goodness, I'm all happy tears here. I don't know how Emily does it, but every single book is an easy five stars, and that's rare for me. This one is no exception. Everything from the writing (gorgeous!) to the humor and banter (stellar) to the emotional arcs -- pretend I'm miming a chef's kiss.
From the opening, I couldn't put this book down. In short, Daphne is dumped before her wedding, Her fiance ran off with his childhood best friend Petra--- and Petra dumped Miles in doing so, to run off with Daphne's fiance. With nowhere to go, Daphne moves in with Miles. Watching them both heal both apart and together had my heart soaked with feels. I can't put into words how emotionally beautiful this book is. But it's also SO MUCH FUN, Come on -- fake dating to make your exes jealous? Oh, the satisfaction.
I can't say which of Emily's books is my favorite, but oh this book was a joy, and the biggest hug....more
